I think this upgrade can result in odometer error/ variation in speed
possibly. but speed breakers are well tackled now.
Ciaz speedometer is already calibrated to show speeds lower than the actual speed. The difference is about 5% lower. You can check this by using Google maps speedometer or use anyother gps based speedometer apps on your phone. Upsizing might actually make the speedometer more accurate on such cars.
Please suggest upgradation of Tyre size instead of 195x55xR16 for better mileage, less jerking of passengers in high ways / other bad roads keeping in mind of the above factors.

I have ciaz zxi+, what about 205/55/ r16? Coz 195/60/r16 gives difference in circumference 3.14% and below 2% is acceptable
205 is also nice option but for mileage lover like me it's again an issue. I'll cover this in next episode for sure.
The ground clearance problem will not be addressed much in 205/55/R16 because it's 5mm by calculation. After tyre pressures and variable load affective increase will be around 3-5mm increase in ground clearance.
Good for all cars which doesn't have skirtings.

I have Toyota corolla E12 with stock 195/60R15 tyres. After replacing new springs the car is so stiffer now. I would like to upgrade the tyres for comfier ones to 195/65R15. What do you think ?
Marginally possible. With this upgrade we can achieve total 10 mm increase in height. It means better comfort on bad roads.
Still good advice of wise tyre dealer is recommended as there are various other parameters as well.

Sir meri car me abhi 185/60R15 tyre laga hua hai aur main 185/65R15 me upgrade karne ka soch raha hu. But diameter me 3% ka deference aa raha hai. Aur maximum 2% ka deference recommend hai. To kya aapko apni car ke milo meter ya kisi bhi prakar driving me kuch fark aaya. Aur bataiye ki Mai ye upgrade karu ki nahi.

As I have Delta version my rims are 15 inch and the stock tyres are 185/65/R15. For increasing the ground clearance marginally by 6.5mm I am planning to change to 195/65/R15. Your suggestion is good but I am not changing the Rims.

First of all. Congratulations for your new Ride.
1. this will be too early to upgrade tyre as your car is in warranty. if your car has any issues regarding the suspension or handling car manufacturer will blame only on upgraded tyres and not their manufacturing defect.
2. it will be too early to change tyre as handling of car is yet to be experienced.
3. Despite all the odds if you are not at all with the stock tyres you have 215/65 R16 as an option (not recommended till 2024).

1. Yes. Thick walled tyres give more comfort on off road trips.
2. Doesn't really affect your warranty if you repalce with calculated difference of %. i.e. likely sized tyres in same range.
3. Surely it's going to affect speedometer slightly but it's good trade for comfortable ride.

@@SMARTDrive no you can't simply recommend someone to upgrade the tyre profile for better ground clearance. The thicker profile of the tyre might cause the tyre to damage the fenders when you turn the wheel!!!

Is it ok to use 205/50 R16 tyres
well. i have seen some of our group members installing it in ciaz. but we recommend you to grab an expert tyre dealer. so that if you need any immediate help they will rectify issues within few hours.
Increasing the profile of the tyres (increasing the height of the side wall) will definitely affect the milage of the car.. Not only the thickness of the tyres..
No. Mileage is not affected in my case. Only slight decrease in pick up is felt for lower end of RPM.
@@SMARTDrive but practically the mileage will decrease, By increasing the profile that is side wall, whole diameter of the tyres increaes.. If diameter gets increased the contact area is increased.. So the mileage will definitely be affected... But 5 mm increase either in profile or thinkness won't make much difference in the mileage..

Thanks for your concern. As we are upgrading our tyres to thicker one. The car will now have larger surface area on road. Therefore 195 will have more traction on road as comapred to 185.
You will feel same pickup and your braking performance will also increase.
195 will give you more comfort, handling and braking. But it might affect on your mileage by 1 to 1.5 kmpl as tyre traction increased a bit.

it is not a good idea to change the factory size of the tyres ...Saftey is important then speed bumbs...we can go slowly in bumbs,,,,changing the size of tyres will change the driving airo dynamics, which could be very dangerous at high speeds...i suggest not to modify size of the tyres,,,for the safety of the passengers////

205/65 r15 are highly recommended in that case as it will enhance ground clearance without affecting handling and mileage.
R17 on the other hand will be bit costly affair as well will be only recommended if you drive on highways with high speeds.
@@SMARTDrive another thing I noticed is the inflation pressure. If I inflate my tires at 30psi I have low ground clearance as compared to 32psi. I live in a kind of rural area where speed bumbs and road pits (khadda) are common.
Yes. Due to low pressure you will get cushioning effect on stones and pointed areas that's why Ground clearance may get decreased by few mm depending on car load.

I live in rural area but I take highway to work which is about 30 to 35 km one side trip. My car speed is variable around 40 kmh to 100 kmh. As you said that R17 is for highways with high speed. sorry bro. can't find authentic upgrade for r15 wheels. in case, you decide to switch to R16 then we have tons of options to improve ride height, comfort and Controlling as well. specially without affecting mileage too.
wheels have to be changed. but that will be costly matter. it's a risky trade between price vs comfort.

it will not increase height much sir. but increase width will affect adversely on mileage.

Agar speed aur balance accha chahiye to 16 inch ke wheel badhiya hain. 17 inch hum recommend nahi karenge.

1. You need to change both Tyres as well as wheels for this upgrade.
2. Yes mileage will be decreased for sure by 2%or nearby range.
3. 16inch wheels will look awesome on dzire.
4. 185/60 R16 tyres will be more easily available and compatible for your case.
5. Upgrade must be approved by tyre vendor as they will inspect the car and may provide right decision whether to go for this upgrade or not.

You have to change wheels from R14 to R16.
Which is one time cost for this upgrade.
Please note R16 wheel tyres are more costly than R14 tyres.

I am going to buy Ciaz top model fitted with 185 x 55 x R16 Tyre. I really appreciate your detailed study about car purchase. Let me clear you there is not much issue about ground clearance about ciaz as marketed.
1. 185/60 R16 are recommended.
2. No 195/60 R17 will need set of different alloys(Rs.27000+)
3. Only thicker tyres make mileage issues
4. We will not recommend cushions for suspensions.
