I agree with you. However, this is for a curriculum expectation in the gr 12 Ontario Advanced Functions course where students have not yet learned derivatives. Thanks for watching.
@@MrsALovesMath Oh! Nevertheless, thank you so much for showing us that method of finding instantaneous change! This is an approach that I've not given thought to!
We are using a centred interval, which means half the interval goes before and half the interval goes after the x value to create an interval around the x value.

It is variant in spelling. Variant=/= incorrect. Most Americans would say you spelled "centered," incorrectly, which comes from ignorance over spelling variations. I am not sure what point of this comment was, besides trying to belittle, but that does not work either, since both spellings are correct. Her being American, not American, does not make either spelling incorrect.
@@imglean He may tried to. British English spells their words according to how they sound, so they spell spelled as "spelt," centered as "centred," and a realize as "realise." Neither spelling variation is incorrect, but it predicted that the American-English method of spelling will more universal in the future, so less people will be using the British English spelling. There really is no point to his comment, beyond acknowledging that instructor uses the British-English variation. The insult of spelling simply would not be accurate, and would should ignorance.

I think the method of finding derivative of the function, and then plugging in the value of x which is 4, is the best.

thank you 😭 I don't know why I never got this in class but understand perfectly now!
Why did you divide 0.001 by 2?
https: //ruclips.net/video/GSFXtHi2eJ4/видео.html👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💐
.01 is the interval, so by dividing by two you get an even distance on each side to go from
Thank you very much, this came in clutch🙏
You're a calculus savior! Thank you!
Thanks! Please share and subscribe 😊
thank so much it was clear from djibouti
Would it not be easier to find the derivative of f(x), which is 12x, and plug in x=4? This would be f’(x)=48.
Most definitely. But this video was made for a curriculum expectation for the Grade 12 Advanced Functions course, which doesn’t cover derivatives.

You’re a life saver
Thank you so much!!
why did you divide by 2? sorry i know someone else asked the question but it doesn't allow me to see

Not all heroes wear a cape
Life saver no CAP
Thx you❤️❤️
Thank u
How did u select those two points ? Im so confused
We select two points that are extremely close to the point we are estimating the IROC around. You don’t necessarily have to choose these two points
why did u divide 0.01 by 2

I thought you were American until you spelt centred correctly. 😁
so you just gonna say we spell wrong?

@@jrivv2239 I'm pretty sure everyone knows that we were joking and we know the differences between how we spell words.
