I never could really buy the idea that the US Navy went down so completely. @dylankennedy6020 Just electrolysis, it's common practice in all nuclear subs, that's how they can stay submerged for so long. Yeah there was a plot point in The Ones Who Live that I haven’t seen anyone talk about. Supposedly, Thorne came to the US to gamble in Las Vegas when it started. Then she says she was trying to get back to South Africa, Somehow (unexplained) Thorne says she was picked up by Okafor in the Atlantic Ocean. This means that she crossed the entire US from Nevada to the east coast and then found a ship and was stranded in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when Okafor found her... Her backstory doesn't add up but it also places Okafor/CRM on the high seas. (Why it doesn't add up is because she was crap fighting Walkers! When you have traveled across the US like Rick and Michonne taking out 200 Walkers is nothing, Thorne was out of her league that is why Michonne took over.... there is no way she made it across the US,
I'm curios why you think she couldn't do it? Thorne served for the South African Navy so she had military training experience. Also apparently she tried to escape America multiple times before ending up taking a boat across the Atlantic Ocean before being found by Okafor. We don't know how long she was in America before ending up on the boat but I'd imagine she got experience killing walker during her journey. And Thorne was fine at killing walkers in the 3rd episode it was just the RDIM was stuck. Michonne didn't have any experience before the outbreak yet when we first see her she's wielding a Katana like a Samurai and journeyed by herself for awhile yet nobody questions that.

My favorite Zombie stories come from the Oral History of the Zombie War. In that book, There are a series of Oceanic communities that survive the Zombie War. And in the Post-WWZ world most countries have their coastlines fortified and mined due to Zombies still washing up years after the outbreak.
Kenny from Telltale s TWD had a boat plan on escaping first to the Savannah river and then probably South, to Florida, but that didn't work out so well...
Such a cool and unique concept for a video. Keep up the amazing work. You’re quickly becoming my go to walking dead RUclipsr. I can say this, there’s people with 300,000 subscribers who don’t make as good as videos or quality as you do. You’re going to go far man.
True, though it depends on the level of firepower they have. I imagine it would mostly be limited to civilian boats and small arms. Which, if a civilization has reached the point where they are able to develop sustainable trade routes to plunder (Yarr) they can probably make their own navy along the lines of armed guys to guard their trading vessels. Then it becomes a question of its worth it, because pirates don’t want to fight for their living, and if it is still an early post apocalyptic setting then pickings will be slim, and what traders can trade they are likely to fight to the death for because it probably means death if the pirates take it for themselves. Which might make the economy of piracy not work out, if it’s more dangerous and has slimmer pickings then just working for the trading communities.
This could have been such an interesting concept to further explore in Fear. It’s interesting because even the sea isn’t safe from walkers or people trying to escape land. With how many resources CRM has, it would be reasonable for them to trade overseas as well. I didn’t mind this Fear arc which in my opinion was rushed but exploring the seas was fun to watch and I like how we got to see that a bit further in Daryl Dixon show.
Good video sir. The part of fear twd on the Abigail is my favorite part of ftwd. I never gave much thought to pirates in the show. This was very interesting and well done ty
Yea, Submarines unless part of a larger group would not be operating by themselves at sea. They would have to access a Submarine bases for supplies and especially food. They could last for a while before they have to return to a dock but not 20 years.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Fear were so gooood! I literally forgot how much I loved this show. Love your channel. It's such a nice nostalgia for this show. Great narration. I love your style.
I also imagined this plot for a Tales of the walking dead episode. Sinopsis: The "HMS Taunton", a former Royal Navy ship its contracted by a small communitie of survivors to defend them from pirates who come each month to treat them and take half his resources. The pirate fleet are 3 ex US Navy destroyers, who also are at war with few vessels from Japan and Australian Navy for the conquest of the South pacific island survivors communities and its resources. This finally end when the HMS Taunton defeat the American command ship, the USS Gerald Ford, an ex-aircraft carrier, and the captain of the Taunton its called "King of the seas of the south". Yeah, could be a very interesting plot, a war for control over islands by ex-navy ships from many countries, specially UK, USA, Japan and Australia.
Im not sure if its the same universe, but the michonne telltale game's story is only about a ship and the bandit community living on a ton of tied together vessels, so i imwgine there could be places like that in the current canon
That’s not part of the same universe as the show as the games form part of the comic series universe. However that doesn’t rule out that from happening in the show universe nor does it rule out the communities unless something in the show counter acts them.
Yar har har, swab my deck! Yar har har, show me whatcher workin with! Love your videos though foreal. Great to see someone peice together so much lore I would never figure out myself. I also really appreciate how transparent and unbiased you are 👍
Love the theory's put forth here, my only wrinkle that I can see is all the blood/gore/rot in the ocean would probably attract sharks and other fish, Yes the walkers could easily dispatch various fish, but given that shark skin is incredible tough, I would think that it would turn into a feeding frenzy pretty rabidly, and potentially leaving nothing much more that at best walker heads floating around. Purely my 2 cents worth.
Absolutely without a doubt. But that’s kind of an issue with the walking dead in general, most walkers would be eaten away by maggots and other things within the first few months, so it’s kind of just one of those things you have to suspend your disbelief for.
If you ever watched The Last Ship, it had some interesting ideas of how a navy ship would handle an virus style end of the world. Season 1 has them facing off against the remnants of a rogue Russian fleet and then season 2 follows them dealing with a British Nuclear Submarine that's manned by mercenaries and pirates. Was honestly very interesting stuff until they sorta moved away from all that for the third and final season.
Yet another great video. Great concept to explore. What really annoyed me about FTWD was dropping Alex’s story from Flight 462. She was phenomenal!!! The actress was even nominated for an Emmy for this role. But the producers/writers just dropped her when she had soooo much potential. Would’ve rather seen her return instead of Madison
I'm interested to see if the CRM has a navy, pretty clear they have a huge air force but besides the ship Rick tried to escape in we never see the CRM using navy vessels
Idea for next video/videos: A huge TWDU Timeline explanation. I think many are still confused on the timeline of the universe so you could make it clear in one big video explaining everything from the beginning to the modern times. You can use the timeline wiki page as a source 😁
Even if they dont go back to old wooden ships, there's still plenty of sailing vessels out there, some even manable by just one or two individuals. Edit: it would be interesting to see a reimagining of TWD if the outbreak happened more recently, with advancements in "green" energy sources and solar being more popularized for homes. Im sure there'd be some clever engineers out there rigging up solar panels on boats to run electirc motors and such to keep boats moving.
Plus the further proliferation of certain types of firearms in these last few years, plus their accessories (such as switches and suppressors), as well as related tactical equipment such as body armor and chest rigs, which would have been very helpful in the various armed conflicts and prolonged firefights Rick & Friends got in throughout the series. Even night vision and thermal devices, which would be in every military unit's armory and would've been extremely helpful against threats such as the Whisperers, especially the thermals. If TWD started tonight, you'd have bands of goons formed by next month acting as mercenaries and scouts. Like that gal Daryl was with who was, apparently, a mercenary in the past, we'd have all sorts of people trying to be roaming mercenaries (except offering to cover guard shifts or join supply scavenging missions and sharing information instead of just raiding settlements and offing everyone before living off their supplies to do it again later (this for sure would still happen, yeah, so there'd be a dynamic of good and bad dudes roaming around it kit)) like "Stakeland" or something, hunting the dead and offering to fight people's wars for them since a group of freelancers raiding Negan's satellite outpost wouldn't have gotten Hilltop into trouble, especially if they left the area right after because things were gonna get too heated.
Of course, I think of more things after I hit post and move on. The new Daryl show is a good example of this, too, with the group of armed slavs that were hunting him before he reached Mont Saint Michel (The Nest). There would've been as many groups like that in America and Canada as there are hills in Appalachia. Even Mexico would have bands like that moving south from the US encountering the cartels, and offering protection to settlements against them and other such opportunities for men of talent.
Pirates would have likely died off preying on each other without substantial coastal or safe ports to break at. Small groups would be wiped out or join larger groups, and larger groups would have to pirate each other for the supplies to maintain their ships.
I don't think Daryl was with that group long enough to find out anything important because he got kicked out for breaking their rules, the Pirate story in far would of worked better if the characters were older and rougher, and I would love to see a tales episode on pirate reenactors, I think that is the only way to do it modern day and there could be a scene where walkers are getting washed up against the side of the boat so much that it gets damaged and starts to sink
I didnt see it as factions trading walkers using the ships, i thought of it more like it had to do with the experiments the pouvoir was doing, maybe they shipped out walkers from the states becaude the different conditions those walkers go through compared to ones locall to the pouvoir might influence the outcomes of their experiments
Fear had a lot of good things that the flagship didnt and the fear crew should have capitalized more on. Mexico, Pirate ships The proctors Walker and more tribes
I feel like the Atlantic and Pacific are very different in TWD. Lots of piracy off the West coast but the East Coast and Europe seem sort of dead and free. Maybe there were pirates before Carol's time 9n the water? More naval presence, CRM, Commonwealth, and survivors combating pirates in the early days so the Connors of the Atlantic were killed off early and a piracy culture never took root? We also know that ships go from NFLD to France in Daryl Dixon, so there's transatlantic trade of some sort. Opening that corridor probably involved killing off pirates. Padre is also on the East Coast too. Seems like there's not much going on in the West. Everywhere from Bogota to Anchorage was burned so there was no one to really facilitate trade or to secure shipping routes. Meanwhile Atlanta is the only Eastern city that got napalmed. Even NYC has life. Its a much smaller ocean with thriving communities on both shores. Also due to NATO, America, Canada, France, UK, and others would prioritize the North Atlantic in the early days so there would be more naval presence of multiple nations in the Atlantic over the Pacific.
Awesome job, I would love to see a synopsis on The Claimers in season 4 and the connection to Rick’s Red machete as FTWD had Webisode I believe in season 3
When society collapses, we just don't see this kind of lawlessness and violence. People are naturally inclined to band together and cooperate. That's one thing I just despise about TWD. It just makes no sense the way groups interact with each other. Raiding and killing everyone gets you supplies one time and turns everyone else against you. Establishing trade gets you supplies forever and begins to help build trust and form communities which benefits everyone. I just can't see humans NOT banding together, especially with walkers being a constant threat. The whole humans are the real monsters thing is so overplayed and 2000s and it's stupid.

it makes me wonder about sea fairing tribes across in places like asia and africa, where people who have lived for many generations on the sea.
Love the videos! Very well done with lots of care
Skimming through your home page and found this ... RUclips recommendations suck .. how did they not recommend this one
Idea for next video/videos: A huge TWDU Timeline explanation. I think many are still confused on the timeline of the universe so you could make it clear in one big video explaining everything from the beginning to the modern times. You can use the timeline wiki page as a source 😁
That’s definitely gonna be in the works soon! It’ll be a huge undertaking tho so it might take awhile to finish
I always thought water zombies would just sink... and then break apart over time. But.. 🤷♀️🧟♀️
Another banger! Love your channel
You don’t miss great content 💪🏾💪🏾
Another banger. Good job!
Pirates would have likely died off preying on each other without substantial coastal or safe ports to break at. Small groups would be wiped out or join larger groups, and larger groups would have to pirate each other for the supplies to maintain their ships.
Nice channel way superior to the bigger walking dead channels.
Amazing job keep them coming your doing an amazing job
Dude awesome videos you got a new subscriber in me today. Keep up the good work
Anytime I hear pirates, I think of Cartman and the South Park episode....
Been binging your videos man. Nice work, very interesting stuff
If the world ended and zombies started to take over like the ones from the walking dead do you guys have a plan to protect yourselves and your family?
I didnt see it as factions trading walkers using the ships, i thought of it more like it had to do with the experiments the pouvoir was doing, maybe they shipped out walkers from the states becaude the different conditions those walkers go through compared to ones locall to the pouvoir might influence the outcomes of their experiments
Fear had a lot of good things that the flagship didnt and the fear crew should have capitalized more on.
Mexico,
Pirate ships
The proctors
Walker and more tribes
Imagine this during ww1 or the 1800’s or smth
i'd love to see whats going on in Japan, all those earthquakes and disasters on-top of zombies...
Godzilla too
Please make a video about what we know about other countries in the TWD universe
Dude I FORGOT about Holly, man I have to read the comics again
Im really loving this channel.
There's NOTHING of reality in shows like this. If there was, there'd be less drama and people watch for the drama.
Been replaying the telltale games lately.. I wonder if Kenny found another boat after season 2
Missed opportunity, should have let the intro theme run until they say "never shall we die." 😅
Damn you’re so right haha
Any nuclear powered heavily armed naval ship would be able to survive
Why didn't the ship from fear the walking dead have fire arms on it?
Shoot! I've wanted Jesse McCartney to board me since back in the day! We can play shiver me timbers! I'm leaving now! 😹💀😹
Oil Platforms.
Enclave style from Fallout
What about the Aircraft Carriers or battle ships of the military?
With all these spinoffs why not do a TWD show on the sea? I'd watch that
these pirates are more like buccaneers then yes there is a diffrence the buccaneers were basicly just trappers
World War Z (the book) has this en masse
Reminds me of Pirate seas in Plants vs Zombies 2
Awesome job, I would love to see a synopsis on The Claimers in season 4 and the connection to Rick’s Red machete as FTWD had Webisode I believe in season 3
I actually have a claimers video up! It doesn’t really cover the red machete but it covers the groups story
But which trade ships are they going to raid?
Are you telling me the VA for fucking Nightwing and roxas is a pirate in this show?
This vid almost makes fear seem interesting. Forced myself through season 1. I miss the season 1-5 OG glory days, AMC ruined a legendary show
For me fear ended after season 3. What a shame
Fear went down the toilet after season 2
ugh its not man-uh-wa its mah-nah-wah.
You live in fantasy land. Bet its great there.
