Hey, Ariel you have to stretch out the Con in Converese Sneakers, pronounced like convict. As kids we would say "I got my new Cons' on son". At one time most sneakers were made in Boston I believe. My father worked at Hood Rubber that then became BF Goodrich. Rubber and sugar employed a lot of people in Boston. This was the Headquarters for Domino Sugar. Ariel, I just ran across some information about the Casey brothers from Kerry. Brother Steve was a big time wrestler in the US. wrestling out of Boston. He was the champion of the AWA. This was during the 1930's and 40's. All of them were rowing kings. Steve the wrestling champ opened out a bar on Mass. Ave after retiring. It was across from the Mother church of the Christian Scientist 1949. Surprised no one has mentioned them yet. Peace
