Brian, this bodybuilder gave me a cue on pullups that blew my mind. He told me to pull my scapulae out from over my shoulders while I pulled. Dude, they are on top of your shoulders, and if you just pull up that doesn't change.
I'm actually doing chest to bar pullups again with no pain. It's kinda like I'm trying to make my scapulae do a backflip. I get the sense that while my scraps are moving back, my lats are pulling my arm bone downward, and opening me up. I was even able to reproduce that sensation on the dumbbell bench, it was like I was pushing my chest up with my scapulae. It's like the next level of arch and retract. It worked amazing for me so I had to share it with you.

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial imagine doing an ab wheel roll out, but with the barbell, and a wider grip. If you relaxed everything in your upper body, and just fell forward at the bottom, letting your chest fall through, that would be how I'm saying the shoulder blades would move, only you are using muscle to do it, and not an advanced ab wheel suicide technique.
Maybe shoulder blades down, and back, then moving your upper traps away is a good way to say it.
I hope this helps, I am not a good explainer

Good to see you lifting and moving so well without pain! Regarding running, I hate it too. I do some, but I am also doing a lot of weighted incline walking. My wife and I have been listening to this podcast where researchers study cultures where the people live past 100 years more often than in the rest of the world. They have lots to research but one of the common variables seems to be walkable locations with significant elevation change. Seems like the elevated heart rate and movement without the high impact of running is good for longevity. It's not super fun necessarily but I like it more than running and can get my HR up pretty easily at 8% incline and 3.5-4 mph.
