it is all about preference though: comfort, genre, amount of bass, vocals presence, soundstage, even something as basic as volume. there are "correct" averages that are versatile and can be enjoyed by many people, but there's more to headphones than a one size fits all.
I tested on both phone and laptop with 2 different earphones. The end result is that earphones sound roughly the same with small differences in terms of quality and quantity. My target was a little different than the END Game IEM Target. The most shocking discovery was that overall: -Bass is 2-5 dB lower -Mid is 0.5 dB lower -Treble is ~1db higher
For uninformed like me: you can upload your target eq to squig link>equalizer>upload. My target up to 2khz matches Aful performer 8, and from 2khz and up Variations is hard to beat
I'm going to be completely honest. Peqdb still needs some work. Atleast coming from someone who spends a LOT of time with speaker dsp, I can say that its not producing anything that blows my mind BUT, It does improve on the original headphone for some trial runs and that deserves praise because other autoeq's are very hit or miss in that regard
for iems or headphones with multiple tuning options, i didnt see which tuning they represent in options, could you add a note that explain which tuning it specifies?
Good luck with the company, and please don't make subscription based paywalls to your products. This is not a totally new idea but the way you do it is more refined.
@@sharuraudio The problem is that the rating of the eq is not advanced enough, Everytime I was getting a bassy muddy response I gave worst rating, there was like 10 trails like that. And at the end it gave me a response I was rating at -5
Hi Sharur, unironically i would like to ask, does different DACs & AMPs sound different, or is it just all in my head? I love peqdb, and might just stop buying new earphones from now on and focus on DAC/AMP instead (or not if they aren't really that different lol) Also would be great if we start seeing product like PEQDB DSP cables where you can manually adjust the EQ profile on the cable to suit certain earphones. Thank you! Wish you well!
amp technically is useless , maybe you will need one for hifiman headphone people say they eat a lot of power but if your headphone dont need it it's useless , for example i think the only need for a amp is for audio speaker and or electrostatic headphone since you need a special one for high voltage
most sentimental sharur video
audio hobby should have ended 20 years ago but people like crinacle kept dragging it claiming it’s all about “preference” 🤣
Preference is still massive tho

I mean it literally is you can go down the biggest objectivist rabbit hole and you'll arrive at that conclusion

Yeah, same problem for me. I'd say more FR tolerance is needed or at least we should have the option to disable the target matching
Listening to your favourite songs with your tuned gear and hearing perfection is also considered as audio hobby, it won't end
I'm now thinking of reviewing an old IEM after the new EQ (PEQdB) and new rating list

PEQdB is still in the beta stage lol, just wait until the official release
@@sharuraudio of course. Can't want to see where you can take this project
