I like that he uses left handed reels. As a right hander and steeheader it really bugs me when a guide uses right hand reels.

Yea some folks can. I can do it but I like fighting a fish with my dominant arm. It can be awkward trying to fight a big fish on the opposite arm unless you are ambidextrous
For me it is easier to fight and control a big fish with my dominant arm
Take downs all day long! The fact you had had 17 opportunities would be awesome as a client to see happening.
Bobber downs! All day long! Great video as always! Cam when if the channel coming out!? I love to see gear and absolute grinds! Folks don’t understand how much work goes into putting fish in the boat… they only ever see the reward not the grind… same with shed hunting and hunting! They always see my pics and want to go but don’t realize how many miles I grind and the day to day struggles lol
It's pretty sporty opting for the rubber hooks. Dang fish!
Instead of using a 1/2 pound weight which causes incredible slack every head shake, why not use a jet diver? Just a question and wondering if it’s been tested.

Takedowns!!!! But my gosh.....guys are out there to have a good time. Cant let the pressure get to ya and make it a stressful time for dudes paying good money. Id rather not get a fish and have a good time than be stressed all day!!
Those fish have a bony mouth hard to hook up. I sharpen every hook i use when I fish for them even brand new out of the package. If when i drag or slide the hook on my finger nail it doesn't snag on the surface of my finger nail. Its not sharp enough.

The steelheader in me is saying more bobber downs, but theres nothimg that brings more joy when the rod bounces because of a feisty springer. We'll take more of both please!!!
Both take downs and bobber downs are great but I am partial to the bobber downs. That visual of a float dropping into the abyss of water and disappearing is just so trilling.
I've heard of salting your fish, but not assaulting your fish haha. Great work, all over the bites on this trip Cameron. That's a testament to how skilled you are at this fishery.

Somedays they get away. I went 3 for 12 on Steelhead a few years back on a fly fishing trip using size 10 barbless hooks. Only landed the littlest ones. The next day at breakfast our guide's friend and client told us about a day they went 0 for 17
So is there any rhyme or reason to the flow of the boats? Seems like a big *^&%show out there. Great video great driving!

Me personally I would rather watch tributary fishing than big water trolling. A few buoy 10 videos are cool because the fish are giant but other than that, big water trolling is pretty boring unless your there in person…

I like seeing both but instead of Salmon and Steelhead Sturgeon change up if can like would like to see More Crappie American Shad Catfish maybe even Bluegill fishing along with More Halibut Striped bass White seabass maybe even go after Sharks and if you can get into more big game fishing like Tuna Wahoo Mahi Mahi Yellowtail Sailfish etc. but you guys are great and it's a fun thing to see and it be fun watch you guys' poke pole for Monkey face Eel anyway keep up the good work guys Awesome HAMMERDOWN!!

Is there anything specific that you can attribute to all the missed take downs? Hook selection, type of bait, speed variations?

Take downs. It is frustrating to have so many hook ups and only land a few. We have had a day it took nine fish to get one in the boat. My wife and I hooked nine one day and finally got our two. Would of limited within a thirty minutes if we landed the first two. Years ago 1980s fished Newport for OrAqua Coho. ODFW put OrAqua out of business by letting commercial fleet net all the returning fish. They got less than 3% of the Coho back. Fish after fish came off. I had a rod snap and then the fish came off. I finally get one to stay on and my friend wants to net it in the bow of the boat. Nets it and tells me it came off in the net and went through a hole and gone. I thought he was joking. He was also a guide so how does a guide fish with a net that has holes in the net.
