Within this video I will be sharing with you our experience with travelling to Walt Disney World aer lingus and the disaster!!
I will be shared with you the Ins in out on what went wrong travelling to Walt Disney World from the UK is a journey in itself with a long haul flight but when something like this happens to you it can be extremely stressful and just one big nightmare

Oh bless your heart, I’ve only just found you by searching up travel day videos as I’m going in June with my Daughter. But bless you, seeing you cry I could just see your disappointment & mummy guilt. I know it’s easier said than done but you have nothing to feel bad about, your kids will learn that these things sadly happen. You are still giving them a holiday of a lifetime, which is the only thing they will remember!!! 🫶🏼🧡🧡🧡

You’ve done yourself and family very proud, from a really awful upsetting experience you turned it around by being polite and courteous and obviously aer lingus recognised that and rewarded you and maybe more than you expected. Thank you I was truly dying inside but I did try and compose myself and deal with the situation and me shouting and getting upset. Was not going to help the situation or get the airline to help me. I just tried to make the situation as calm as I could, for the kids sake really. ♥️ thank you so much for watching

They sure were they definitely made the most out of a bad situation when it first happened. I honestly couldn’t look them in the face without bursting out in tears. I felt so guilty even now it wasn’t my fault but we eventually got there and put it all behind us, it was truly magical.
Thats why you are kind to staff. It's not their fault they just work there. I don't work in travel I work in grocery. I'm much more likely to see what I can do to try and help someone if they aren't shouting at me. Being kind goes a long long way.

Never been with Aer Lingus before but whilst we were out there we heard all kinds of horror stories about them always cancelling flights! So glad you got there in the end ☺️

Thank you I think a lot of people was sobbing at it. To be honest it was a really sad moment for us and the reality of losing two Park days. I really wanted this video to be upbeat and really exciting but it ended up being the complete opposite but I suppose it’s good to have a mixture on RUclips as well as I’ve never seen a video like this where peoples dream travel day has folded up and come to be a disaster!!
But Luckily we have put it behind us and we’ve had a fantastic week in the park. I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. It was a truly magical week ♥️
The most important thing is to get to your destination safely
Plus they got reasonable compensation. I think they were helped because of the children. Disney can only help your flight wise if you arranged a package with them. But to get compensated for the two days stay is good. Your meals and transportation being covered is great. It’s a nice hotel with a pool. In addition, she handled herself respectfully which made them more inclined to assist them. If you read the fine print on your travel agreement they can cancel flights for extenuating circumstances. Who wants to fly on a defective plane? 😊

So heartbreaking 💔 this shouldn’t be allowed to happen. There should be a contingency plan. Waiting 2 days is unacceptable. No amount of money can compensate losing 2 days of a holiday. Sorry! My opinion. Thank goodness you got on your way and I hope it was the best week ❤
Yes, they should be some kind of alternative plan for their customers, but it’s a massive shame things like this of a rare to happen on the day. They normally get cancelled way in advance to prevent stuff like this, but this time was just unlucky.
We got delayed 23hrs flying virgin n never got any compensation lost a night n day in disney glad u got compensation n hotel

What heart condition does your daughter have if you don’t mind me asking? My daughter has half a heart (Hypoplastic left heart syndrome) and uses a wheelchair too! She was so excited when she heard you talk about your daughter :’)
The flight being cancelled is just the worst, I’m so sorry guys, as a mother, seeing those disappointed lil faces is so hard isn’t it!
When a holiday costs as much as Disney does, it’s heartbreaking loosing those park days :(

Just watched your video. I recognised your family from its Orlando time when you posted about the flight getting cancelled. Glad you made it the end
Just goes to show it pays to be nice. Our flights from New York to the UK on Air France were cancelled and delayed by 2 or 3 days. This was back in 2014. After to and froing for compensation was offered three free return flights to Boston with Air France for the following year. I moved to the US in 2016 and now a US citizen actually living in Florida. Did visit the UK in September on the same aer Lingus route, thankfully no delays!

Omg what a nightmare for u, we fly with aer lingus in 6 weeks going to Florida it’s made me nervous watching this 😳 at least u managed to go but it’s a shame u had to miss 2 days of your holiday, Where abouts are u guys from😊
Hi, sorry I have not seen your comment sooner. Yes it was an absolute nightmare on the day but we are very grateful we ended up going and spending the rest of the trip there.

@@sams_disney_life3235 omg we had a nightmare with them we’d never fly with them again, our plane got cancelled about 30 minutes before we was due to board, we had to fly day later so had to stay in airport hotel. We did eventually get compensation back but it’s still annoying. I’m from Nottingham 😊
@@Sarahsparkles83 yes we got compensation didn’t take too long I was very surprised.
We had probably five minutes till boarding, and that is when we was told complete nightmare confusion, and everyone was in limbo what to do.
Just and us a piece of paper was not very comforting when your whole family is stood around you with suitcases, wondering what the hell you’re gonna do.
The sheet of paint What you probably got as well just cause you were contact number to rebook your flight, however like most people in the airport there is no reception to ring anybody so you’re frantically trying to call to rebook the closest flight.
But I simply couldn’t get in touch and ended up having to go to a flight two days later, but are so lucky. I booked direct with Disney as they was amazing.
We are off to Disney again next year, but I’ve booked direct with tui and flying with them as well so I’m hoping everything goes smooth

Aer Lingus only have a couple of planes available for this route, so if anything goes wrong they don't have backups. Unfortunately this means flights are cancelled. Would never fly this route.
OMG how well you all coped, think the girls treated it like an extra holiday stayover. And well done to the airline. Just shows you that those that shout don't get.
Yes, they definitely did treat it like a extension to the holiday. We was fortunate that airline helped us or we would’ve seriously considered delaying the holiday to a later date.

If the aer lingus staff did something exceptional for you that they “shouldn’t really be doing”, probably not best you advertise it on here, you’d be surprised what people in HR and other departments watch. Wouldn’t be hard for them to find out which staff member authorised it, and for an expensive 2 night hotel stay plus 3 meals a day for 5… could get them into a lot of trouble. Just sayin’
Aer Lingus only did what they are obligated to do. just sayin... otherwise they would have had to rebook on an alternative airline, cost wise 2 days at a local hotel, cheap, compared to rebooking 5 passengers, just sayin... Pleased it all worked out. That EU261 compo will add up., extra spending money for next time.
@@stu314uk did you watch the video? They were the only people they booked into a hotel she said, and she literally said the aer lingus staff told her they were not meant to do that. If you watched, they were offered 2 days later, and eventually got on a Virgin flight 2 days later. Did you even watch the video??? I was simply saying careful what you say on videos especially when you said the staff said they shouldn’t be doing it but did It anyway. Jeeez
The hotel stay is nothing exceptional, as they weren't rebooked the same day the airline has a duty of care. There is no "secret" to spill, no one is going to get into trouble. The fact this airline encouraged passengers to go home, and they did, shows how most passengers don't know their rights, or choose, to return home. The airline did nothing special, in fact it saved a small fortune.
They will say they're not meant to do it which Is a load of rubbish. They just want to look like they're doing something. They wouldn't want her to go tell the other 200 people on the flight so to not have to do it for everyone. Its quite obvious. No secret there .
