I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (May 11, Easter 4, aka Shepherd Sunday), we sang this as our Hymn of the Day. It is #502 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
Our choir sang this beloved piece several years ago - it was a John Rutter arrangement, (HMC1794) SATB, Harp or Piano, published by Hinshaw Music, P. O. Box 470, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
Our Archangel Choir is singing this stunningly beautiful hymn at this Sunday's Mass. Some of the bass notes are incredible! I agree with Collin, an awesome recording and an awesome chorus! I would like to know, who is this chorus?.....wow!
MusicaAnimam Text: based on Psalm 23, Mathew 18, John 10, Henry Baker 1821-1877, alt. Music: Melody is ST. COLUMBA, Traditional Irish Melody; arranged by Randall DeBruyn, 1947, copywrite 1990, OCP Publications. Hope that is helpful
@@protabs Would you be able to share your transcription with me? My choir really wants to sing this arrangement but I don't have time to transcribe it myself
Can anyone identify the arrangement? I'd love to get it for my choir. I've been looking at a lot of them on various sheet music sites but haven't yet found this one
I think it's by Paul Terracini. This is according to this website artandtheology.org/2020/04/28/love-my-shepherd-artful-devotion/ perhaps you could get in contact with him somehow.
Does anybody know what the name of the arranger is of the music in this video? Everyone seems to be posting other arrangements and not the one in the video...
This arrangement is more than likely copyrighted, hence why no one is posting this particular version. The score you see in the "video" is from hymnary dot org. I just found it myself. I plan on making my own arrangement of this, as well. I haven't sung this hymn in almost 50 years, so it's about time I do something about it!
Anthony Bradley Brown the sopranos are too full-sounding for boy sopranos to my ear, and the altos sound like altos, not counter-tenors... I get the feeling this is an adult mixed choir. It is a very good one, whoever they are!
The best version
heard this at a funeral today.. fell in love with it and now I cannot stop listening to it.. amazing hymn.
Thank you. This version must be heard.
A simple hymn made very lush and beautiful. Thanks for posting!
This arrangement is absolutely gorgeous!

Beautiful arrangement! I love this.

Througout the days thy goodness faileth never. Good Shepard, may i sing thy praise within thy house for ever.
Never heard it with a descant. Nice.
Bellissimo!

Google Assistant identified the artists as: Ars Nova Vocal Group, The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Album: Hymns of Our Forefathers. Released: 2000.

The bass line is inverted on the third system in the recording.

Wow....Finally someone has found the name of the group. Thank you very much
This song is a tribute to the grandpa of a kid in my school so that’s coolio
Why post a version that doesn't match the score? :P Doesn't matter though, great hymn.
This is nice, but the vocal is not singing the arrangement on the video.

It's clearly a boys choir, but I can't recognize who. Probably just a church or cathedral choir or ensemble. Not many horses, but gorgeously sung.
