    In today’s video we are changing the engine oil and transmission oil the Beta 390RR. The manual calls for this after the first 3 hours of engine time and then you are supposed to do it again at 30 hour intervals after that. This oil change will cost $44 USD (at the time of filming) each time you do it.

    I have the Beta 480RR 2017, change both oils every 15 hours ( two rides ) using Motul 5100 10W50 in the engine and Motul Transoil Expert 10W40 in the gearbox. Works great for me. My bike has 8500 kilometres on it and 165 hours. Doing adventure riding not hard enduro. Not one single problem with my Beta 480 RR, very light and huge power when you want it!

    Love the separate oil for transmission vs engine! It makes zero sense to circulate clutch fibers over your cam journals, around your piston rings, and through your crank bearings. I am fine with having two oils to drain, although some may have trouble figuring it out.

    I prefer four stroke engines that have a separate oil for engines and transmissions. The engine will last so much longer when you don't have the tranny/clutch debris floating throughout your engine. Kudos to Beta!

      @noControl556 5 лет назад +2

      Yea I wonder if that makes the intervals longer as well. Tranny oil on 2 strokes can go 20 hours pretty easy. I suppose that also lets you run "normal" engine oil vs. the JASO compliant stuff

    This video is now a few years old but there are certainly some valid factory Assembly issues mentioned above.
    1. Those drain plugs are O-ring sealed, no crush washer, and we all saw how tight they were. Way too tight from the factory! Is it any wonder the factory sells kits to retap the cases for an oversize plug when continually over tightened and aluminum threads finally strip? According to the manual, the engine oil and gearbox drain plugs are torqued to 15 and 20 Nm respectively.
    2. By now, all 350-500 owners should know that the oil level check on the clutch side is way too low on the case and is useless.At that level check.there is only about 400 mL trans oil in the case and the manufacturer calls for 750 ml.
    3. I’ve had my 2019 390 for almost 3 years and agree with Kyle, great bike.
