I played this song on repeat the whole way through the terminal and on the plane. Something about the wistful optimism struck a chord with me, and held me captive the whole night. I swear to God that I did so too and everytime I took the train or got to travel anywhere, I had this song on.. I lost loved ones, had to say goodbyes, let go of stuff, just Because it wasn't meant to be and perhaps what I lost most was friendship or trustworthy friends.. But everytime I get back to this, I cherish those moments and kind of desiring to get even better.. It's a big sigh, but what a class song.
I have a similar story. When I was deployed in Afghanistan, this was one of the few songs i had on an ipod mini. This song brings back so many memories. When I hear it get played in public, I have literally frozen in place because of the memories that flash back into my mind.

It means a lot to me too. My first Coldplay concert was Viva la Vida in Hershey, PA. I will never forget how happy I was when they performed this song and the butterflies were everywhere and Chris was running around stage with an umbrella. It was such a high point of my life. Such a feel-good-adventurous song I am also impressed that most of Coldplay song; no matter how electronic-heavy it is can deserve such good acoustic version as well or even remixed into edm (Princess of China, Every Teardrop is a waterfall, A Sky Full of Stars, etc). It is almost like Coldplay produced an acoustic song for rough draft and decided to infuse some electronic sound to keep up with the trend and still sounds good.
