    I think a 3-row 'Janko' keyboard with keys like this, is the ideal embodiment of the 6-6 concept, even for piano type instruments. There's too much fixation on the convenience for the hands with 6-row instruments, because that makes the layout more difficult conceptually. I mean, with 6 rows, yes, the hands fall on the keyboard so that all notes are comfortably accessible by each finger, but you have to think about each finger being on the right row & note. I think 3 rows is conceptually better, though not ergonomically ideal. I owned a Chromatone for 3 years but the typewriter style keys and 6 rows made it difficult to get to grips with. Oh well, I resold it for the exact price I bought it, so it was no big mistake.

      It can't be ideal if it fucks up your hands due to poor ergonomics; there's a good reason the traditional keyboard layout (Halberstadt layout) has keys long enough that you don't have to put them in weird shapes.
      Yes, the extra rows are confusing at first, but they start to feel more natural if you practice proper playing. How often did you diligently practice your Chromotone when you had it?

      @@corintocuarentasiete1640 Thank you very much for this information. I have rarely access to the internet, do you know, if they still have some in storage, I just checked their homepage and even on the textpart for "special accordeons" they don´t have informations about jankoakkordeons. But I will contact them also of course. Thank you and all the best wishes to you !!

      @@paulvonjankozuehren5037 Hi Paul, yes, it's not on their website but I know they still do have a few, they call it a LOGICORDEON, it's 3 voice and 72 bass, made about 12 years ago or so, brand new and they do a full revision before selling it. I bought mine about 2 years ago.

    Hello. Is this easier than the chromatic button accordions? Are any keys marked with textured surface for orientation? Thanks

    • @Persun_McPersonson
      @Persun_McPersonson 2 дня назад

      Janko is a little simpler to learn since it's laid out in whole tones rather than minor thirds. Most Jankos have no orientation texturing; I did see a video of a Janko accordion like this that had texturing on the black keys.
