Amazing how a bit/ a lot of cladding brings the van together. Well done to you both! Can’t wait to see the finished product! Make sure you keep Dad hydrated with plenty of ale! He’s definitely earnt it! 👏🏻😅 💪🏻
Amazing team work again Bec and it’s all coming together beautifully now. Without your bubbly personality this would just be another camper conversion however you bring it all to life. Your dad is brilliant too and you both bounce off each other really well. Love ya Bec and look forward to your next upload xxx
Thank you John, that so lovely of you to say ☺️ I really get a lot of joy reading comments like this. We’ve made the biggest visible changes so far in this next upload 🤩 much love xx
Clad you got that sorted me dear 🙂 Hair looks lovely, now get it tied back and crack on helping dad 🙂 Gonna be one cosy warm van with all the insulation, some big manufacturers could learn a lesson or two from people like you who do some fantastic van conversions, great work, another step closer to your travels. Take care x x
Thank you kindly ☺️☺️ I’m starting to think the same. We’ve got the solar powering the battery now & everything I’ve bought is proving to be an excellent choice. Low power usage etc. These solar panels are next level. I was producing 50v in heavy rain!! 🥳🥳 Big changes in the next upload! Xx
Hi Becca I've just been watched your Q&A from a couple of months ago and I was very touched by your honesty and bravery at what you went through and if anyone deserves a break in life it's you and I'm just going to subscribe and join you in your journey of a lifetime 👍
Hi always look forward to getting a notification you've made a new video and I've not been disappointed yet your van is coming along absolutely superbly I must admit I'm getting excited about it too can't wait to see the fitness van but I've got to ask the question once it's finished this won't be the end of your videos will it I'd love to come along on your journey free your videos to see where you get to say a big hello to your dad and your mum take care can't wait for the next one big kisses
Hi Chris, much love thank you for the lovely comment as always 😊 Fear not, I shall be bringing you along with me on my adventures after it’s done 🥰 I would love this to become a main income for me so I can just travel (& eventually make my way to Africa to settle there). 👌🏽☀️
Nicely done Becca and Becca's dad. Gotta say that the ceiling cladding makes the van look even bigger. If ever I change to a bigger van I think I'll pinch the idea. The van is deffo coming along and the cladding reaaly helped set the roof vents off as a great feature. Loving the flexible lights too . Might stick a few in Viv-I-van. great video which I really enjoyed. Looking forward to watching further progress next week. Bessy regs- Kenny
Thank you Kenny! Always love your input. It makes it look so big i forget theres a ceiling when i walk in now 😂 I think i'm going to use it in other parts of the build now too. Happy you're still enjoying watching. Much love x
Haha no no, I just got too burnt out I needed a day in bed 🫠 the editing had to wait, my brain was too fried ! She’s starting to look less like a van now isn’t she :)
Yes she is......the work you are doing is to a very high standard and i wish i had your enthusiasm and knowledge when i was building my first few vans...props to Dad of course as well as you,a woman's touch makes it a home..
That's a really neat job. Your Dad deserves to have a Ryobi cordless nail gun for his birthday or Father's day. They are quicker, less effort and leave a nicer finish than hammered nails. I think that they are on sale at the moment at the Ryobi site (they seemed to be a fair bit cheaper than what I paid for mine).
What colour are you going to finish the roof in? Personally not keen on the dark brown stains you often see on van builds. Lights are great especially the bed reading/usb lights. Looks really good. With help from mum and dad you will soon get you on the road.
I agree with you there Stew, & I’m thinking a clear varnish of some sort. I love the colour & painting only adds extra weight so I’ll keep it as natural as possible 😊
You both did really good on the roof lining, looking really smart, you staying with bare wood or using stain/varnish/oil? Soon be away motoring at this speed.
Looking smart.Good to see Mum keeping a watchful eye. Did I see a plaster on your thumb at the end? It's not a project unless you have at least one wound!
Becca, with all the wood that you have attached to your van , be careful of the unladen weight , if it goes to 3.5 tonne you will need an H G V licence to drive it . ( just saying )
Thanks Yaya. We are aware of this, and luckily have access to a weigh bridge so will be checking as I go to make sure we stay under. This cladding was extremely light which is one of the reasons we chose it. The whole ceiling was less than 20kg, which i think is pretty good, no? Thanks for keeping an eye out for me :)
Sorry to be that person, but the wiring you're using is to small. Even for the USB you've got 3-5m on each lead, so maybe 10m of voltage drop. Try drawing 2a down that route and you're going to lose 1-2v. Fair enough that it's on the 12v side so less noticeable but it's still 3-4w of power loss in the wires, heading the van. It'll work and likely be fine, but very bad practice. Again, hate to say it, but I'd be using a heavier guage wire all around. Where possible I'd use the van chassis for the ground return and twice the guage for the 12v send and it'll probably cost less. Less wires, less clutter, less connectors and less issues at a later date. Loving the build otherwise.
@@myvanworld I have watched all of your videos and I know that your dad was involved with the aircraft industry and electrical systems. However I stand by my comments. Sorry about that, not trying to cause offence etc, but genuinely concerned about the safety and suitability of that install.
@@PIXscotland no offence taken. I was referring to the comments on my last video regarding the wiring ampage. It’s thin insulated wires, but they’re perfectly suitable for the amps they will be carrying :) dad answered these issues there, you can have a look.

Becca, make sure you put a knotting solution on the ceiling cladding. You don’t want the knots falling out in a few months
Thanks Steve, will do :)

Thanks for the video. How did you fix the cladding to the battens please ? Screws or panel pins ? Cheers. Merry Christmas 😊
We used glue and panel pins. The cladding was too brittle for screws, it just split it.
:)

Looking nice. The timber roof is transforming the van build with the highlights/fan now with there covers fitted. Will you stain/varnish the timber.?
Thank you. Yes I think a clear varnish to protect from moisture.

Yeah I cut myself on the wood / giant splinter. Only my second proper cut of the build so far which I don’t think is bad going.
Brilliant job folks.👍
