- An easy rock scrambling route in Scotlands Mountains aiming up Schoolhouse Ridge on Beinn a'Bheithir's narrow eastern shoulder by Ballachulish (Glencoe) and climbing two munros - Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Dhonuill. We extended the traditional hiking route which goes down the scree by Sgorr Dhonuill's northern corrie to the west and then to the north.
Hope you enjoy the video!

I never knew or even imagined that Scotland was so incredibly beautiful until I began watching your videos. Thank you!
Thank you very much Cathy ☺️
Thanks for that. I led the horseshoe a couple of times in 89 and finished dropping down to Loch Linnhe at Kentallen each time . Didn’t have the views you did but the April Day was a very memorable one . We started in miserable rain but were soon into mixed snow and ice on the Schoolhouse Ridge which was tricky . Once up on the ridge it was a winter wonderland and we could see enough to see the first Munro as a perfect snow cone. Distant views were minimal but a happy memory.
Thanks a lot Des Platt. Can only imagine how uncomfortable the ridge must have been in rain...
OUTSTANDING 🏔🐺🏴🥾
Thank you very much John! ☺️👍👋
Been and done it after watching this video, sorry I didn't press like the first time Stripey.
Enjoyed the day out again whilst having T on nightshift.
Hey stripey hat guy, good meeting you on the summit, ive got a cameo in you video at 14:19 with my bright orange t-shirt! Great channel you have and fantastic editing skills, can see a lot ot effort goes into making these videos and the end result is brilliant. I laughed when you were casually scrambling with one hand and your friend couldn't believe it, best wishes and look forward to future videos
Hi LoneHiker, was great meeting you guys and thanks a lot for watching. atb Stripey
Another Stonker! Woo hoo! A great wee walk on two amazing hills! SGOOOR DEEEERG! Lol....🗣🤣🤣cheers stripey! Paul
😂😂😂
One of the best ones yet! Brilliant mate 👏👏
Thanks a lot Kev really appreciated! ☺️👋👍
That was amazing was so funny with the names that was some going I was getting the fear when you scrambling with one had really enjoyed that thanks for the video take care atb 👍👌
Hi Gary, yeah kind of difficult with the names here 😂. Probably it looks in the video more then it is, I tried as good as possible to give an impression of the hike/scramble (linear filming on the GoPro), no need to make things dramatic 😃👍👋
Wow! Very beautiful place you had.👍👍👍 I look forward to watching more of your videos! best regards Up'n'Down-Traveling
Hi Up'n'Down-Traveling, thanks for watching. 😊👍
Great vid stripey. Done them last year. Amazing 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Tam. ☺️👍
Wow that was amazing. 👍😊👏 Well done. Atb.
Thank a lot Tracy, Scotland is really one of the most amazing places I have seen so far. Glad to have the privilege to live here! ATB Stripey 👋👍
Great video mate, enjoyed the pronunciations too 😂👍 Hardest part of the Munros is pronouncing them 😂 The drone footage was also excellent 😁 well done 👏
Thanks a lot James 😂👍
Nice one SHG. Watched with mixed emotions (admiration and jealousy) as I'm currently unfit for hillwalking. Nice to see others getting out though. Keep them coming 😀!!
Hi Johnscot1, thanks a lot. Hope you are getting fit soon to enjoy the great outdoors 🤞👍
Fantastic video again..Don’t know about the guy doing the mountain pronunciations though😉..Love it 🏔❤️👍
Hahaha, thanks for watching mate! 😂😂😂
Nice one bud. What a day eh 👍👌😎
Hi Kevin, absolutely! Days like this should never end 😉👍
Just watched this again Stripey. We went the same way yous did, when we did it last week. Think we descended near that big boulder tho. Yous went further around abit. The tree felled area was abit of a nightmare too.
Great tour, really liked the pools - probably good for a dip. The tree fell area was absolutely nightmare with a beautiful walk back along the street as icing 🤣
Hi new to your channel great video . You did an awesome job. Nicely done. You just got a big thumbs up from me and a new subscriber here.cheers
Hi RODPIKER DRONES UK, thank you so much! ☺️👋
The main road walk back is a killer
Pretty accurate discription 😂👍
just watched about a dozen vids, fantastic channel. never mind about pronunciation, gaelic is the only language were clearing your throat is actually a consonant hehehe
Thanks a lot Madmacs FPV 🙌👍
Cracking video again..Don’t know about the guy who was helping you with the pronunciations though 😉
😂😂😂 he is the best!
Yeh . . . So Dhearg is pronounced 'Jah-rigg'
It means red.
So the mountains here are the 'red mountain' and 'Donald's Mountain'
(And yes, scots gaelic has lots of words for different kinds of mountains - it's like the old saying about the Inuit having alot of words for snow 🤣🤣)
Hi Anthony thanks a lot, really appreciated! 👍
No bother - great video and cracking shots!
When I did them I went in from Glenachulish and forked right for Sgorr Dhonuill and the doubled back for Sgorr Dhearg.
I'm getting my brother caught up with me (43 munros I've done, to his 9) so I'll need to do this again - and I think I'm going to take him the way you went! Looks amazing!
One handed aswell! That's some very confident scrambling if you're able to hold the camera in you're free hand!! 😅😅👍
Also, for the record - your pronunciation of Ballachulish is more or less spot on! 👍👍
Excellent sir, part of the fun of hillwalking is trying to remember the hill names & then trying to pronounce them, haha! Did you happen to notice if there's a bypass for the scrambling on the Schoolhouse route? I plan on going there soon, but not sure if the dog will manage those sections safely.
Hi Scott as far as I remember there are not really any bypass possibilities, said this I saw a dog near the bealach but I am not sure if the owner/dog went up the ridge or if they came via the forest straight to the bealach (which might be also an option if you are "just hunting" for another stunning photograph)😉👍
@@StripeyHatGuy 😉🙃
Cheers mate, aye, purely photographic as always. My original plan was to access the Bealach via the forest route, but I believe access is restricted there just now as they plunder the wood 👍🏻 Have you had a look at the Corbett south of the horseshoe? Views look fantastic 👌🏻
@@outlawedlandscapes no I haven't had a look at the hill yet, or better he isn't in my list yet which is somehow quicker growing than I have time 😂. I do believe so that the wood harvest is finished, a friend of mine is on Facebook and he send me something along the lines like that it is apparently open again... probably he meant a different wood so as I am sure you just checked it 😂
@@StripeyHatGuy I’m the same, my “to do” list is enormous, growing and the locations get further away 🤑🤑
Maybe he’s right, I got my info from Walkhighlands 🥴
