I've also been dismantled by a ten year old when I was in my early 30s. A competent player should be able to draw a game. The odds in a chess game, the higher the level you play, lean on getting a draw. Over 50% of games around master level and about 70% at elite 2750+ elo players' games...

Then his dad played with him casually for some years, as he entertained a conversation with friends around or on the phone. Until… he started to be consistently beaten if he didn’t give the game his full attention. A few more years and the best players in their rather large circle of friends couldn’t beat the kid anymore. Something he had in common with the young player in the video, maybe: he couldn’t stay in place doing his homework, so he got the permission to walk around the table while his mother quizzed him. That settled over the years, as he became a karate black belt and a fine football strategist, and ultimately an accomplished engineer. And he needed a special pass for his poor written language skills, a weakness that it seems to me is not uncommon with ‘math brains’ , if there is such a thing.
Kasparov was the same kind of kid at his time. Not anymore, he is pretty old now and can't play at least close to the level he once had. Honestly I would like to see impossible match. Match between Kasparov and Carlsen at their best time
