  • Novello House is a beautiful family home sitting in over 7 acres of land in one of the most desirable, quiet roads in Binfield. The Novello House in Binfield is the most realistic choice for me if Coombe Park or Vanbrugh Castle can't be purchased

I want this lovely property located close to London.
The whole point of having large and multiple wide-open exterior spaces is to entertain and socialize outdoors, go for walks and strolls, play soccer, cricket or tennis, swim and perhaps even ride.
The need for multiple, large and wide-open indoor spaces is to walk freely without brushing against walls, furniture, stairways or people, to not feel claustrophobic, and to live, entertain, work, study, play, and recreate or relax in multiple areas to break the monotony of life and lead a quality life, not merely vegetate or watch TV.
The intent to have close proximity to the metro/train or bus-stop and a highway, a town, and a city is to have access to multiple modes of quick transportation for independence of movement to access shops/malls, friends, hotels, cafes, night life, museums, theaters, schools, universities, offices, banks and other services.
    B- My own preferences:
1- If I had all the money in the world, then, of course, I would buy massive properties in the cities with multiple, massive, and wide-open outdoor and indoor living, social, activity and recreational spaces. I would only choose properties outside the cities if I couldn't afford the same level of luxury inside a city.
2- Since there are no defining features to the same swath of land anywhere in the world, I would prefer to have views of and access to a a beach, a lake, a river, or a city to differentiate it from other swathes of land in terms of the the views and the living, social, activity and recreational venues that other swathes of land can't provide me with.
    i) For seafront properties, I would prefer private or public access to soft, white sand beaches and warm, crystalline waist-high waters. I would even prefer a dock on the other side or close. If however the weather is extremely cold and windy most of the year, then shallow water and beaches could be useless, so I might opt for properties with other features. A seafront property where you can't bask on the beach or play in waist-high, warm crystalline water would have very limited utility with a dock, and none without it. It would also be only a seasonal property if it were too frigid and cold.
ii- For lakeside properties, I would want a massive lake with forests and mountains around it. I would also want a dock and a boat to explore the lake.If the lake is a mere stagnant puddle that only breeds mosquitos and insects, I might forsake it and opt for properties with other features.
iii- For riverfront properties, I would want flowing, not stagnant water, so it doesn't breed insects. I would also want to row or boat. If it doesn't have these features, I might prefer properties with other features. iv- For city properties, I would want walking-access to metro stations or a bus-stops, cafes, restaurants, and a posh pedestrian precinct. If the properties don't have these features, then I might forsake them for other other properties with other attractive features.
3- At the very least, I would want a large property that is from 3 acres to 1000s of acres and that has multiple, large, and wide-open outdoor and indoor living, social, activity and recreational spaces.
4- If it's my primary property, I would want it to be in a university city, like London or Cambridge, or not more than a half-hour ride or drive from it. I would also want it to be within 1.5 miles of a metro or train station or a bus stop. I would also want it to be not too far from the highway. If it's in an area with a waterfront, I wouldn't want it too far from a marina.
5- If it's my country property, I would still want it to be close to a small town and not more than 1 to 3 hours from a major city.
6- I do prefer structures, like that of the Hampton House in Surrey or the California-like $10 million contemporary home in Lancashire, but I would even live in ugly structures if they satisfied my other needs.
    i) Depending on the weather, I might prefer a well-lighted structure with triple-glazed skylights, windows and doors.
ii- I want everything large to make the property grand----large slabs of stone, granite, marble, limestone, polished concrete, metal-work and, perhaps, even glass-work(provided the glass-work doesn't compromise safety in a natural disaster) and small refined slabs of wood.
iii- I want robust, sturdy and masculine furnishings--nothing effeminate, fragile, or flimsy.
iv- I would want a blend of matte and glossy finishes. Preferably glossy and cold ones for social areas and matte and warm ones for living areas. v- I do prefer shades of black, blue, grey, green, olive, mustard, cream, white, ash, beige, champagne, brown, red, etc.
vii- I do prefer sloping roofs because they require no maintenance in the event of rain or snow, which simply drops to the ground, but could overlook them if the house is desirable in other ways.
viii- I also prefer granite, marble, tile, stone or wood walls because they, again, don’t require much maintenance, unlike paint. I don’t like monotony, so I would still get a few walls with wallpaper or paint on it. I could ignore these if the home was pleasing in other ways.
ix- I would want stonework, woodwork, or polished concrete to separate the structure from the garden to keep the dirt and dust away, but could even live without them.
x- I do prefer stone, granite, marble, and polished concrete to brick exteriors, but could also live with bricks. Bricks and wood panels are better insulators, but one could leave air-gaps in a thick wall or use an insulating material. Triple-glazed glass with vacuum or even air between air-tight panels would insulate well.
xi- I would like to generate my own power wherever possible and also use heat pumps wherever possible, but could live without them.
8- If the house has multiple, large and wide-open exterior and interior living, social, recreational and activity spaces, then I could ignore everything else.
9- I like the interiors of the Hampton House in Surrey, the California-like $10 million home in Lancashire, and the $15 million Northwood home, but I could even live in less stellar interiors, provided they satisfied my need for multiple, large, wide-open indoor and outdoor living, social, activity and recreational spaces.
10- I like the grounds, lawns, and gardens of the $10M, 125-acre Coombe Park; the $12M, 40-acre Ockwells Manor; the $4M, 35-acre property at Glen Usk; the $4M, 35-acre Stancliffe Hall in Peak District; the $15M Northwood house; and the $8M Totterdidge house; but I could even landscape inferior homes to my preference.
11- Properties that I would like to Buy:
My 1st choice for a country home in the UK would remain the $10M, 125-acre Coombe Park estate in Oxfordshire.
My 2nd country estate choices would be the 40-acre Ockwells Manor outside Maidenhead and the 72-acre manor in Cambridgeshire.
My 3rd country estate choices would be the $4M, 35-acre estate at Usk and the $4M, 40-acre Stancliffe Hall in the Peak District.
My 1st choice for a home in London would remain all 3 acres of the Vanbrugh Castle in Greenwich for around $10M. I might not even need a country home with such a large property inside London.
The 2nd choice for a London home would be the 6-bedroom home with a covered area of 5,300sft, reasonably-sized front and back lawns, and access to the Little Venice Garden, adjacent to Regent's Street, and 0.5 miles from Paddington. Since it doesn't have large grounds, I would need a country property with it.
I would buy any home that has its large back-lawn opening into the Little Venice Garden to access the garden and the tennis courts and to also be located close to most of London’s attractions.
My 3rd choice for a London home would be the $15M property in Northwood or the $8M property in Totteridge. I might not need a country property with these either because these have reasonably large grounds.
My compromise choice for a UK property would be this $5M, Novello House in Binfield or the $4M, 3-acre modern home in Steeple Morden, near Royston. The Royston property is ugly, but has 3+ acre for sufficient grounds and has multiple, large and wide open indoor and outdoor living, social, recreational and activity spaces and is quite close to Cambridge and a train station, so I wouldn't need another property with it.
I wonder if I would still need a penthouse, like the one on top of the Parliament View Apartments for $5.5, if I bought a property like the $4M home near Royston? I know I won’t need it with this Novello House in Binfield.
