I can't say how many times this has happened to my cakes, but its good to see the video on the quick fix!! Extra buttercream is always a good thing! Thanks Emily 😊🙏🏽🇨🇦
Yay! Thank you, Susan!
@@BritishGirlBakes you're welcome, awesome videos, keep up the good work, it's so appreciated 💖
Thanks so much! I just had a red velvet cake come out of the pan with some ragged edges.
I knew I’d find the fix here, and I did. Of course, next time I’ll wait a bit longer until the cake cools sufficiently and I’ll also spray and e sides. I only sprayed them. Don’t ask me why. I always spray and flour them.
I love your channel. You're just a ray of sunshine and so helpful

I want to thank you. Although this wasn’t quite right for my situation, it let me calm down from everything going wrong with my cake. I added a bunch of buttercream and was able to make the cake more than the pile of crumbs it was before. Thank you :)

@@BritishGirlBakes 😊 thanks for the respond! I can't wait 💛
Omg this is such a life saver.... Thanks for a very helpful video.. May I ask how did you achieve the aqua blue colour?
Also how did you use name embboser on buttercream?
Hi! I have a tutorial on how I made that cake with the lettering here: ruclips.net/video/nonKiSw3QZk/видео.html
Brilliant
Thanks!
Thank you, Emily. This was very helpful to me. Where do you get your pans? Amazon? The only size cake pans that I have are 9x8. And I’ve always wanted a more variety of sizes. Thank you for making and sharing your his video! 👍🏻😘
I use Wilton pans and I get them on Amazon. I like the ones that are 3 inches high so you can bake quite tall layers and divide them in half horizontally to make double the number of layers. I've linked to them in this list: www.amazon.com/shop/britishgirlbakes?listId=3AIEYHUSLVOPQ
@@BritishGirlBakes Thank you so much. I figured that they were Wilton I just wasn’t sure. Thank you for linking them! We that’s really nice of you. 👍🏻😘❤️
Nice
😍 results
This has been helpful. I knew I was putting my cakes at risk when I didn't use the parchment paper underneath despite buttering and flouring the pans. Sighh. I was just too lazy to cut out the parchment lol. But I loved how you turned it around with that awesome frosting 😁
Pre-cut parchment papers can be bought off Amazon. This might help.
Hi, so you mean I can put butter cream on a frozen dammaged cake and then leave it to chill, how long should it be in the fridge to be fully unfrozen? And ready to eat? Thanks
Hi, what about if i just put it in a glass jar container( cake in a jar) do i just have to crumble it? Im a new follower from the Philippines!
Thank you Emily, your tutorials are always helpful 😊
What do I do if the cake is broken in half?
Thank you! I would spread or pipe some buttercream along the broken edge and then push the two pieces together, wrap them, and freeze them. Then you can assemble and frost the cake as normal!
@@BritishGirlBakes what if we dont have a butter cream batch ready right now and cant make one, And we have already put it in the freezer like that?
Hi! Can I use a wax paper on the bottom of the pan
Hey, thanks for this tutorial 😊! I have a question thought, i am new to making cakes and i just finished wrapping 2layers of cake so i can freeze them, But i definitely was impatient and took out 1 of the layers to quickly out of its pan. Its not only a crack from the top like in tis video, almost the whole half of the cake is falling off. I tried my best to wrap it like that so idk what will happen when i take it out of the freezer. What should i do? Or do u have any tips?
Also i dont have any buttercream right now to fix it before i freeze it…so should i take it out of the freezer and do something else?
i put spray on the pan but it was still hot and caused my second layer to get stuck so THANK YOU for this
So glad it helped!
I absolutely love hearing u talk
I
Oh thank you!
LOL! I literally broke a layer in half last night and put it in the freezer after wrapping it nice and tight. It seems to have worked? I added butter cream and also put it as the bottom layer. My hope is that the weight of the other layers plus the butter cream on the cake board will help keep it in place 😬
I'd love to hear what happened - did it hold up until serving?
You're a wizard
Do v HV to keep the broken cake in the freezer
Awesome....happened to me a week ago...3x 22cmround cakes...all 3 cracked ..I was so annoyed as well as petrified to use it incase the client would notice 🙄...Anyway.. I wrapped it and sticking on the freezer ...going to make cakesicles and Popsicles
I'm sure they'll be delicious! You have more patience than me - those take so long to make!!
Will cream cheese frosting work as well? My carrot cake stuck and broke and I always use cream cheese frosting for carrot cake.
Yes! It won’t set to be as firm as buttercream so it won’t be quite as stable but it will hold pieces of cake in place, especially if you chill the cake after “gluing” it
@@BritishGirlBakes thank you so much for the quick reply and great video!! 😁
Thank you for saving my cakes from the waste bin 😍😅
My pleasure 😊
How did you write that? The "you melt my heart"
With plastic letters - full tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/nonKiSw3QZk/видео.html
Just remember folks:
Frosting is glue.
And I ain't saying it just because of the video, I'm saying it from my own experience. I once was baking for an anniversary and one of the cake layers were bigger than the rest so I carved it but I ended up cutting too much off. The solution? Fixing it with frosting.
It’s magical, isn’t it?!
Wait how does frozen cake tatste
I've only experimented with butter based recipes and I honestly can't taste the difference between freshly baked and cooled compared to frosted and thawed IF the cakes are wrapped properly to seal them
what's the cake size
6 inches
saving this just in case i join the british bake off and i wreck it
haha!
I am entertained by the way you speak and impart your hacks.
Thank you!
