I am 68yrs old. I just "discovered" Josh a few months ago and have not been able to stop listening! I hadn't seen this documentary on my RUclips Josh Garrles searches before. I discovered Josh Garrels on a random tour through RUclips and I've listened to him ever since. His raw honesty, unique spiritual perspective and abounding creativity goes right to the heart of me. I knew he had been part of a documentary project on Mayne Island, but had no idea much of it was filmed at what was my home for 4 years, Twin Totems at Horton Bay. To experience the combination of amazing music and visuals of a place so dear to me, brought me to tears ... of joy, of remembrance, of longing to go back. Thank you, Mason Jar Music and Josh Garrels, for giving me and the rest of the world a fresh reminder of what music from the heart looks and sounds like. God bless you all.

I am going through some of the most defining line in the sand PRECIOUS difficult times of my 57 yrs. And I have been through some mind bending severe crazy trials with Messiah by my side, most would never think to survive. But presently, this is enormous, and all I can do as far as music is yours Josh. Abba is using you in aiding my walk of solitude which I cannot change. I am grateful to Him for the supply through your obedience and faith and willingness to be used, you and all your house, may blessing pour out on all you love, every goodness, always. I'm glad you found this Amazing music with so much Love put in it from start to finish, in a time when it seems it was just what you needed to soothe your soul. It was an amazing gift I found from watching a movie. The movie is " Tulsa " about a little 9 year old girl that had lost her mother & found a picture of her daddy in her mother's Bible. Tulsa loves Jesus with her whole heart.❤️ She finds her daddy & saves him from drugs & alcohol & he finds Jesus. It's a hard movie to watch but this music is all through the movie. I had to stop the movie & find who was singing this wonderful music. I found this and watched and listened. It brought me so much peace and calm. I knew I had found an amazing gift. The comments were so beautiful & filled with honest feelings. In a crazy hurtful world I think the whole world needs this feeling that I received from this. Peace be with you.

I just found this. WOW. I haven't wanted to listen to music in a long time. Not even the standard Christian music. I haven't had even a stereo in 8 yrs. But today I was gifted a new stereo. The strange thing is I had never heard of you until I heard music on another yt channel that was covering the volcano's in Hawaii. Found out who it was. (You). Now I know what I can go buy. Been so disappointed in music now a days. But, I was truly blessed. He works in mysterious ways. Thank you Josh for your passion.

I can't give a proper description of what this music has meant to my life. It's been there through quite a few of my ups and downs and transitions. From the broken situations to the unknown surrenders into something else more beautiful. I can't compare the the feeling to anything else other than following the direction of wonder and being driven by love.
Thank you for using your music as a service, and for being courageous enough to let it be that. Thank you for giving your albums away so freely. It's allowed me to give your music to others I meet, and I always try to make sure they know how much it's meant to me. It's one of the reasons I believe in God, simply by the fact that something that is created can come from another persons mind, be written on paper, molded into a song, and somehow awaken something in someone else that gives them hope and courage. I see the real Christ in that process.
I'm not a person who is born with the gift of music but I sure can say that I have really connected with what I saw in the film that has inspired and gave me a new definition of what music really is. I see God being the driving force for your music and it has really knitted me with it. I'm so grateful to have watched this video today. I loved every minute of this. So beautiful in a million ways. Josh is my favorite singer song writer, and I loved hearing his testimony, seeing how he loves the Lord and also his beautiful family. It was great to see his wife singing with him on a song that I have heard hundreds of times and wondered if it was her! I loved seeing the musicians work and come together to create these amazing songs. So much talent and purpose.
Thank you everyone who was a part of this process, for opening up your lives, for making this art for the world to enjoy. Thank you Josh for sharing your story and your beliefs. This video has impacted me as a fellow human, artist, and lover of the Creator God. Jesus Christ is worthy of all praise!

As an artist when when I complete a work… and I step back to observe it, never do I feel that I had much to do with it. It is truly behind my talents and skill. It is so humbling to know God used me… I am His media of choice at that moment. Listening to you speak of the process made me break into tears… I have been blessed by your music for sometime. So authentic and gorgeous. To hear you tell how the creation of the art is just the middle of its purpose articulates the purpose so well. Many blessings you, your family, and all the ears, hearts and souls that hear your music.

I first heard about Josh in a movie with this guy and a daughter he never knew. It was so touching I cried at the end. Blurs the mundane monotony of this morbid existence into bliss
After many lunches and dinners watching this in 5 minutes snippets, I finally finished this documentary and thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you for creating this and sharing it freely with us on RUclips! That last song (the processional) is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I’m driving or washing dishes and just need to think and pray.

I was blessed to watch this during a thunderstorm, with lightening flashing all around me in the dark. It made it all the more authentic. Beautiful documentary. I only recently discovered your music on Spotify listening to Farther Along...my favorite song. I just found out yesterday my daughter's favorite song is Colors. I didn't even realize it was done by you! We finally have music in common again! Thank you for making such pure music. I have peace and joy as I listen. As well as opportunity to lament at times. It was a survival thing, from my early childhood, to NOT be fully in my body or present. This music is VERY healing, to me.
Hey Josh, thank you for sharing your beautiful documentary! I don't find such peace and truth in many youtube videos as I see in your life with your friends and family and music. Seeing how you live your world with others through God is truly a blessing. I don't get to get out of my house much and I cannot drive. I myself love being out in nature to use my creative talent and feel the Lords presence in it where I can get it. I feel right at home watching you all on youtube fellowshipping and playing together in God's beautiful creation. I also have one brother in my family that you remind me of. He too sings and plays guitar and is a christian. I hope you get a chance to meet him someday. I would love to hear you too play together. We live near your city. Please keep sharing more videos. This movie has such a great energy from the beginnig until the end. Great camera work and editing as well. I really enjoyed it.
It hurts to see that the comment section of the official Ulysses vid (& other songs in that album) was turned off. I respect his decision I just hope he or the song isn’t getting much hate that made him do that. Ulysses is honestly one of the most beautiful songs. I fell in love the very first moment I heard it. For someone with a very eccentric taste it is everything. Josh Garrels is a blessing & I just pray he is getting all the goodness that he deserves

This album is my absolute favorite album of all time. It stirs my soul. Josh’s music strengthens my walk tremendously. Thankful for Josh’s gift and the fact that he uses it to bring God glory.

I've been a fan of yours since about 2008, Josh... have always just loved your music since then so much, but especially your lyrics. You are an extrordinary poet, imo.
I'm looking forward to seeing you live if you ever make it to Europe/UK, but I understand your family commitments... but at least this documentary was an insight into your live talent. Definitely there was something so special about that particular period of time that you filmed this in, I would say the finger of God was clearly on it. I also think those musicians you worked with were also touched by the faith you wear on your sleeve; gotta love that comment from the fiddle player who was touched by that one profound lyric. Thanks for making music that's untainted by the world, it gives me hope in a dark world.
That guy is right: you provide a service, not a product... I hope you'll always have that ethos as time (and the Lord) matures you every bit into the prophet you have been called to be for this generation and beyond. Real music is not dead, there is still spiritual life in some popular music. Grow from strength to strength, mate! You have my support. :)

Wow, that is probably the best documentary film I’ve ever seen in my life. Thank you so much for this Josh. I just started listening to your music a few months back, around late December, early January ish, thanks to my youth minister. I’m so glad I did, and you immediately became one of my favorite artists through songs like “Farther Along”, “Ulysses”, “The Light Came Down”, “May You Find A Light”, “O Day of Peace”, and “Come to Him”. Really beautiful work man. Can’t wait to see you live here in Houston at The Heights Theater on June 2nd, right as I’m coming out of junior year of high school! Perfect way to start off my Summer with some wonderful friends and my favorite artist!!! God bless!!

This gave another dimension of perspective not only about Josh, but I found myself peering into another dimension of myself as I watched and listened. Thank you to Mr. Johnson for your significant contribution. Thank you team Mason Jar for a wonderful production. Thank you, Josh, for the transparency for persevering and pioneering into the wild beyond of music that brings pilgrims like me comfort and hope, and most of all brings glory to the King.

The most beautiful part about this is how everything was so interwoven and natural. The generosity of one genuine music lover mixed with the genuine love and passion of many extremely talented people. Wow this documentary explains exactly why I can’t stop listening to these pieces. Only God can orchestrate a thing like this. Jesus truly makes a way for his children. I’m just happy to be able to watch and listen along the journey.

Josh, that destiny you mentioned - you'll find it, if you haven't already. I'm 63 and just found mine this year, and couldn't be happier. When Christ rose, He returned bringing gifts (Eph. 4:8). Some find their gifts early; some have to overcome much first. Check out Revelation 2,3 where Christ gives some great gifts for the overcomers. God bless and keep you and your family, and continue to make His face shine on you.
