Awesome presentation, as always. You provide so much information, so clearly and succinctly. One question I have is: With what I imagine to be very limited velodrome options, where are most of these riders getting their training on a fixed-gear at race speeds? I always wondered that about the Red Hook Crit racers as well. Also: I notice that they haven't put any protective padding or hay bales around that guardrail corner where there have been previous crashes. Yikes.
Yes on my 1st fixed gear I forgot and went to coast after a sprint and almost got kicked over the bars, feet unclipped and it was a sh&t show, it didn't happen again 😂
3:24 yeah that guy who bailed out, is clearly a guy who knows you cannot stop that fast on a fixed gear, and he's probably a guy that seen a lot of crashes.
I promise y'all the boulders are the least of your concerns 😂 gravel, folks taking inside-then-outside paths on the double corner, and sudden gusts of wind are FAR more likely to hurt you.
go to an empty parking lot and learn to take a corner at speed.....you have to mentally and physically train yourself to NOT slow down. you can keep up but your technique is hindering you. also learn how to track stand, pedal backwards and sprint from a standing still position. these should all improve your performances.
good video all the informations are clear and fun
Nice, dude! Can't wait to see you at Mission Crit in September...
Glad to see you posting back to back!!
LG!

😂 you lived
Bru I’m the guy who crashed out on that really tight turn super early. You can see me walking throughout the first few laps
@1:52 Average speed 49km/h😀😅 You scared me for a second there 😉 Great race!
Lol
Great stuff Claudio, I really enjoy your track and fixed gear race vlogs.
Awesome race footage and commentary :) I love the simplicity of fixed gear bikes. Easy maintenance and a super clean look 💯
Thanks!
Your videos keep me inspired to race. I just wish there was more race opportunities in Oregon.
Thanks!
What better than being on lunch watching bicycle racing on a Friday.
And those boulder still look scary 😀.

Why do you ride so high cadence? is it just preference?
Yes preference and gear choice.
How long is one lap at this course?
How are your cheap-o Chinese bars working out? do you have full confidence in them?
full confidence, full send!
Those boulders are not dangerous..... until they are...
Hmmm. It's fun to watch this but I don't want to actually do it. Give me a road race with lots of 10mph climbing.
Sanctioned race on this extremely unsafe circuit is criminal neglect for rider safety.
nyc has been doing this shit for years lol. way safer than it looks.
