My chosen person is actually my Dad. He has kidney failure and is on dialysis. Recently he hurt his foot and had a toe amputated. Because of the coronavirus, he had to be in the hospital alone during this insane time in his life. He is my mentor and the kindest, smartest and most generous person I’ve ever met and I honestly wish I was more like him. I haven’t been able to visit in months because I’m an essential working and it’s too dangerous to be in contact with him. He LOVES to pamper himself with candles and lotion etc and I think this would just show I love him and wish I could be there for him. And that he needs to take time for himself to relax.

My chosen person is my mom because she is a champ! She has been living with Parkinson's disease for 9 years now. She has to take a lot of pills everyday and has trouble with speaking and walking. Recently she had brain churgery whilst she was awake. They shaved all her hair off for her operation. She did not even cry. When I saw her bald, it was me who started crying. She is the bravest person I know and she deserves to be loved.

I suffer the exact same problem with spiders. I can't even stand being in the same room as them. Everyone thinks I'm being so dramatic, but they are terrifying! I can't believe most packing still has photos of them, I don't even like the animations much either. But I'll look into some of these products :)
Weighted blankets are particularly popular in special needs schools; they're amazing for alleviating anxieties and supporting people with sensory needs. I never thought to buy one myself but that does look super cosy. As for the spider phobia, I used to have one too (nightmares, couldn't be in the same room etc.) but then I moved to Australia and developed a sort of admiration for them and thought it was amusing that the smaller spiders were the ones to avoid but the bigger ones were pretty much harmless in the area I lived. I watched loads of videos of them on RUclips which I think helped me acclimatise to seeing them in person but also found when I was around children that I worked with, I didn't want to inflict them with the same fear, so I acted calm when I wasn't (fake it 'til you make it!) When I moved back to the UK, I started handling house spiders myself when removing them from my room etc. and now I love them! The peacock jumper spider is my favourite because it does this really cool mating dance (and its tiny). P.S. My chosen person is my friend who is a nurse and has been working with patients affected by coronavirus. She's been working tirelessly but also has had to deal with some ignorant comments from her neighbours who have basically told her she should find alternative accommodation because she's putting them at risk (when she follows social distancing procedures religiously). My Mum works in the office of a local care company. Employees travel out to many elderly or sick people and give them care at home. I would absolutely love to win the burts bees gift for my mum. She is just the most amazing woman, not only does she spend masses of time and energy cooking/cleaning/looking after my sister and I, she is also a key worker taking care of the elderly in our community. But for those people who just buy useless stuff they don't really need ...that I think we could have less of. And also if your job is to buy stuff to recommend to people I would say it's different. She buys something, and then you can decide if you like it or find it useful. Like her buying clothes saves me time because we are about the same height, same size and so on. My chosen person is my mom because she is a champ! She has been living with Parkinson's disease for 9 years now. She has to take a lot of pills everyday and has trouble with speaking and walking. Recently she had brain churgery whilst she was awake. They shaved all her hair off for her operation. She did not even cry. When I saw her bald, it was me who started crying. She is the bravest person I know and she deserves to be loved.
My chosen person is my friend Alice, she is a paramedic for the NHS and has been doing double/triple shifts since this started. She really is amazing but also today was supposed to be her wedding day which has obviously been cancelled. Today is also her birthday, we would have been singing happy birthday and eating wedding/birthday cake today but instead she is working like crazy on the front lines saving lives. Weighted blankets are particularly popular in special needs schools; they're amazing for alleviating anxieties and supporting people with sensory needs. I never thought to buy one myself but that does look super cosy. As for the spider phobia, I used to have one too (nightmares, couldn't be in the same room etc.) but then I moved to Australia and developed a sort of admiration for them and thought it was amusing that the smaller spiders were the ones to avoid but the bigger ones were pretty much harmless in the area I lived. I watched loads of videos of them on RUclips which I think helped me acclimatise to seeing them in person but also found when I was around children that I worked with, I didn't want to inflict them with the same fear, so I acted calm when I wasn't (fake it 'til you make it!) When I moved back to the UK, I started handling house spiders myself when removing them from my room etc. and now I love them! The peacock jumper spider is my favourite because it does this really cool mating dance (and its tiny).
P.S. My chosen person is my friend who is a nurse and has been working with patients affected by coronavirus. She's been working tirelessly but also has had to deal with some ignorant comments from her neighbours who have basically told her she should find alternative accommodation because she's putting them at risk (when she follows social distancing procedures religiously). I think she deserves a pick me up
I would love to win the care package for my amazing mother in law, We lost my father in law in February, just as she lost her husband and is adjusting to life without him she is having to do it alone without her grand babies and children to cuddle. We facetime a lot but it's still so hard for her, especially as she is in 2 of the 3 high risk categories. She has been an adoptive mother to me and is just the most amazing grandmother to my kids. Honestly couldn't meet a more amazing woman, especially to say what she has had to face in her life and to still be the sort of person who keeps going, stays strong and looks after everyone else before herself is just astounding so yeah :) 🖤

My Mum works in the office of a local care company. Employees travel out to many elderly or sick people and give them care at home. Without her role, people couldn't receive the care that they need at the moment, so she's been working a lot of overtime. She's super stressed out having to see everything going on, as a lot of employees have caught the virus. I would absolutely love to win the burts bees gift for my mum. She is just the most amazing woman, not only does she spend masses of time and energy cooking/cleaning/looking after my sister and I, she is also a key worker taking care of the elderly in our community. There aren’t many carers in our town that can do their job the way my mum does, she takes such care and time to make sure everyone she goes to has everything they need (shopping/clean homes etc) but also takes the time to ensure their mental health isn’t suffering due to the current situation (or any other situation!). On top of all of that, she has now taken on homeschooling my younger sister who has autism so struggles to keep concentrated. I would like my mom to get the box because she is such a strong and loving woman. She works at a maternity hospital in the supplies department. She worked through the quarantine through her own health respiratory issues and the fact she's, let's say "mature" , but was sent home at last because of those issues, but she's doing home office anyway because after all it is a hospital, babies come to this world everyday and they require all the equipment (even more now). Next week is her birthday but as we are seriously locked down, we won't be able to get together with the family, the one thing she loves most. I haven’t ordered anything since the beginning of lockdown and it’s been 6 weeks. I think we have to completely rethink our relation with consumerism because it has become insane. Buying and to have things have become the goal of our life, instead of just be, and try to be a good person. I’m not targeting Freddy at all because it’s her job, but we should really ask ourselves the good questions about what is really essential in life. Fair point. I do agree to a certain degree. But I think at least here she bought useful stuff. If you struggle with sleep it can affect your overall health and mind. And the care package was a really nice idea, could really boost someones mood in times like these. But for those people who just buy useless stuff they don't really need ...that I think we could have less of.
And also if your job is to buy stuff to recommend to people I would say it's different. She buys something, and then you can decide if you like it or find it useful. Like her buying clothes saves me time because we are about the same height, same size and so on. So I can kinda get an idea on how it would suit me before waisting my time or money. I actually make less stupid purchases after finding RUclipsrs I relate too.

Hi, I would really appreciate it if my grandma wins because she has three jobs that she works at right now (she works at a nursing home). Also she is alone at home most of the time. She has three children that are all grown up and also have children ( 11 grandchildren) also she goes to stores to buy food and entertainment for her grandchildren. She tries to make it fun for her grandchildren by getting them places like to parks and her house. She is very stressed lately. She has done so much good for all of us and other people. The highlights of my days, these days, (if and when I’m at home), are online shopping packages arriving to my door, despite just being toiletries/essentials from boots or new lamp bulb for my kitchen as I try to be a conscious buyer as well as also avoid supermarkets for mine and others sake. Not only that but she also cares for her partner who has a serious medical condition and rarely gets a chance to care for herself.
