I’m a big Miele Fan, my mother’s washing machine lasted almost 20 years and we are a family of 4, so it was used several times per week and there never was any issue with it! :)
After 15 years of heavy use the heater coil of my Mele stove broke. I noted the coil's part number and went to a Miele service center to buy a replacement. The shop assistant stated that this part is no longer available as it got replaced by a more durable version. He went to the store and came back with the new coil. Asking how much it cost he replied: As it was our fault we will not charge for it. It is for free.

My conclusion is that its to technical advanced with to many exclusive functions so there is many things who could break down. By a simply dryer for less then the half price. Don't go for the luxury ones!
I love my Miele vacuum cleaner. I bought it just before EU limited maximum power input of vacuum cleaners so it's still pretty powerful and very robust. I hope I will never need to buy another one in my life. Miele washing machine and dryer are also great. They don't have any fancy features but are robust and never let me down.
Wow, I have to admit, I’ve never considered that the repair costs are so high. Makes sense, for sure. Have ALWAYS wanted one of their dishwashers but couldn’t really/didn’t want to pony up the money. I did get a Bosch at a thrift store for $38. It’s been in for about. 4 years. Does need work now, as the water doesn’t heat like it did. I have got a Miele vacuum ( a German one). Best vacuum ever.

I had a positive experience with Miele appliances in the past. My old Miele washing machine worked for almost two decades. So i decided to equip my new kitchen with Miele connected appliances. A dishwasher, an oven, a hob and a hood. It was a little tricky to connect it all to Miele@home, as you say they do things differently, but I think that's also because I didn't read the manual first. Once done, it just works. Really happy, you can see the build quality in all the little details. The price is the only negative thing that I can say about it at the moment. If you have a home automation like Home Assistant, Miele@home can be integrated to it.
You said everything as it is! Miele have really great appliances especially their washing machines and dryers (new ones not so much - to much electronics that goes bad) but they are build like tanks. The problem with Miele starts when warranty is over and something is broken. Then you will have to pay what Miele tells you or you can do it yourself for much, much cheaper. For instance, I used Miele a lot but this year problem was matching pair of washing machine and dryer that work every day for over 10 years (both of them) with no problems. Dryer developed thumping sound, the carbon brushes were out and Miele wanted 170 eur (185$) to fix it, did it for 15$ (buy brushes online and solder it yourself - it's really simple). Then my matching washing machine develop F53 error, called Miele they said circuit board is gone and the cost of new was 430 eur (465$) + arrival and work to replace circuit board. As machine was in mint condition on e-bay I found repair service of circuit board with every transistor changed for 90eur (97$). Machine works like new! They have great products but also crazy prices on spare parts and that is why people going crazy when something is broken out of warranty.
Miele technical service will not do board level repairs due to liability, they can't guarantee a component level repair as other issues may arise later causing a customer complaint and more time that the appliance is out of service. Miele will offer only a board replacement to make sure the issue is sorted and they don't come back again to sort the same issue twice.
@@organiccold No one talks about board repairs from Miele, we are talking about price of the new board (or the price of any part) from Miele because the spare parts are insanely overpriced.
As you say if you buy high end expect high end repair costs but on the other hand relatively speaking Miele are built to last. We've had our Miele dishwasher now over 12 years and it's never gone wrong! Planning on refurbing the kitchen in the near future and hope to replace many of the appliances with Miele.

Do I need to register if my last washer is still going strong after 25 years without a problem This is the fourth machine in our family members households and due to the reliability and never had an issue apart from registration
I'm curious to learn about the differences between Miele & Bosch dishwashers. I live in a humid & tropical climate where mold growth in dishwashers is a serious problem to contend with. Someone actually recommended that the best course of action is to simply learn to live without a dishwasher and to learn to find joy in the art of washing dishes. There is a certain wisdom in this and perhaps if our next dishwasher fails we will go in that direction. I would like to try one last time to own a dishwasher thanks to the harmony it brings our family when it's working well. Before decided between a Bosch & Miele I'd like to understand from an expert which one is better from a cleaning and drying perspective. Which one dries better? Which one reaches a higher temperature? I'm especially interested in the auto door open feature which would help to keep airflow going to the dishwasher, so that mold doesn't have a chance to grow.
Miele vacuum awesome running for more than 12 years. But Miele combo oven /microwave (h6800bm) stay away - issues started right after extended warranty. Repair cost that Miele is asking is 3000 service charges (motherboard change) , oven cost 3900. Pretty much a glorified clock now. Every other function has stopped.
I wanted a Bosch dishwasher once my current (at the time) dishwasher finally died. Unfortunately, my old dishwasher died during the pandemic. Couldn't get the Bosch due to inventory issues. Ended up getting a Miele based on the suggestion by my local appliance store. Did some research, seemed awesome, did it. I really love it. My friends make fun of my expensive dishwasher that sends me notifications... but i really like the Autodos feature, and really like how quiet it is. Huge improvement over my last one. This caused me to then buy a Miele canister vacuum. It was so good, it sucked sections of old carpet right off the floor, and tore patches right up and into the bag! Ended up having to replace the carpet (which was LONG overdue). I know, gross. But that's how well it works! Hehe
Miele is great, just stay away from their TWINDOS washing machine. Their proprietary laundry detergent is not compatible with the sensor used in the machine and it keeps breaking down. very expensive to change the sensor.
They just don't make crap. My dryer is 30 years old and didn't have to be fixed once. My mom just got her 40 year old Miele dryer replaced. Miele stove, fridge, etc at her house are also 40 years old. Maybe they are expensive to fix, but apparently the parts are better. From my experiece, they just don't break.
There's no brand that makes perfect products. All brands and all models have qualities and defects . Can you give us the name of a perfect brand ? This is nothing but an against advertising to put this succeded brand behind. It's not the first time i hear such thougths from an american about german products .
The house I leased came with a stackable Miele washer and dryer. I found an instruction manual for it on-line. It is 84 bloody pages long! I started reading about the control panel, and I cannot make heads or tails of it. What is more, I have no idea if will accept regular Gain washing powder which is what I always use. Do I have to buy special detergent for this machine????
Yes you can use any detergent, just beware that Miele washing machines use less water than most of the other brands so you need to adjust the detergent dosage accordingly.
using their Jubilee semi inbuilt dishwasher, every day sometimes twice a day for over 4 years now and it's been flawless, never had any issues with cleaning, it's like perfect. If it packs it in we'll just replace with with another, looking at friends and work those dishwasher are toast after 2 years. I figured if it lasts 5 years with heavy usage it's done its job, so far it has and looks like it will continue to do so. They are quiet, seems to be very very well insulated and ridiculously simple to use.
2:43 thank you for explain it to us. Because lately the complaints on after sales have risen. So I was bummed to know to invest that much for no service : so ok I will budget the extra guarantee too
What do you base your “complaints on after sales have risen” on, because that’s simply NOT true. I own newer Miele (and Bosch) appliances AND do appliance repair on ALL product lines. Miele is by far and wide no where near as problematic as most other brands.
Every clip like this is full of Miele owners that can certify that their product lasts more or less forever. That is a very good sign of a premium brand. Sure, anything can break, but that is way rarer with Miele compared to the others. Quite rare these days.
Nah, at first I was enthusiastic about the new technology. However when you factor in the repairs cost expensive. New technology takes its course in the market. For me the good oh, natural gas dryer I grew up using at my mother housse. So basic a little extra features. Stick with a proven record. The best brand for natural gas dryer I'm inquiring.
In Australia, Miele offers has a two year warranty, and offers an extra charge for 5 year and a greater charge for 10 years, those warranties including call out, repairs and parts, excluding user abuse etc. The problem with that warranty is its the same for each style of appliance: for a washing machines for instance, one washing machine here may cost as $800, and a very high end one $2,400, and that extended warranty cost is the same. For the cheapest clothes washer 5 years costs an extra 17%; but for the high end that warranty would be an extra 5%. For 10 years, the warranty costs 2.5 times as much, so for the cheap washer, the 10 year warranty costs 43%, but for the costly machine 15% extra. Hence I reckon cheap units will get less factory extended warranties. I reckon people here who buy the less featured and smaller capacity washers, will not buy the 10 year warranties. But being able to offer a long warranty, does support the claims that their products are made to last. And there is evidence of that, if one examines things like enamel baked onto to exterior surfaces rather than painting the exterior surface, and there is much of that over engineering going on. But is a goal of 20 years life the same as over engineering? I think it is. Therefor they are not over engineered - they are just made to last. At least, we presume they still are. Hence I guess the evidence of 10 year full warranties by the company itself. These warranties do not appear to be mere insurance policies. The thing I like about Miele is that it is still family owned. While that might mean tools are more troublesome for independent repairers, that will only change if the Miele family sells to another company. GE Appliances were bought by Chinese Government's Haier group; if Miele was bought out, then in time, they'd have universal tools. And parts shared around the various divisions and brands of a huge conglomerate. And lower prices too. Sometimes its worth paying more for something you know where most of it is made, and you can get some service and even buy a long warranty.
Nah, at first I was enthusiastic about the new technology. However factor in your repair cost. Any new technology has too run its course in the market. As for me grew up with a natural gas dryer I'm wanting to know the best brand to search for a natural gas dryer. I say when it comes too laundry appliances keep the technology the proven track record. The basics.
I wouldn’t buy a Miele refrigerator and freezer, they are made by another company with a Miele sticker. Washing machine 25 years old, no calls outs so far not even for a replacement door seal. Have dishwasher and a dryer so far so good.
I will never purchase another Miele product their washing machine disaster has finished me . They were once quality reliable products but my experience has been that the quality is no more . Dishwasher only lasted 3 years . Oven , piece of junk . Vacuum cleaners have been good but not tried the newer ones yet . Their W1 washing machine is very expensive and always breaking down due to twin dos problems and program jamb ups it's a lemon . Broke down again today I am finished with it even though it's still under warranty it's going to the dump where it belongs .
When we bought our house it had Miele double ovens. I had never heard of the brand. After testing them with my oven thermometers, I was shocked, the only ovens I've ever used that were the exact temp they said they were. I own a home baking business and use them frequently. They've been amazing and I would gladly put these in again if needing replacement.
Used Miehle printing presses for 20 years before I realized they made vacuum cleaners and other consumer products. Great machines but a pain to maintain, our mechanics always had to call their tech person for maintenance just like your company. Lol
I have a Miele W1 and I discovered the motor is working with a fucking belt !!!! How Miele could sell a washing machine with a belt which cause vibration and can break ? For example LG washing machine are Direct Drive Motor ! Also there are some cons for Miele wash machine : detergents in pods do not dissolve due to very low water level , same for softener I don’t have a twindos model but if you watch some feedback you will see many people have problems with it : leaks and sometimes not liquid distribution. With other machine the system is in the top left corner but with Miele it’s at the bottom right . Also if you use twindos keep in mind you have to buy Twindos care bottle to clean every 3 months the system. I didn’t see this necessity in LG/Samsung models I also have a Miele dishwasher with Autodisk and it’s autodisk is not good sorry. the system dirty the dishwasher
I own a Miele washer twindos for 10 years. First 2nd year the detergent sensor (platinum sensor) failed. Replaced free. Fourth year, that sensor failed again, replaced at usd200. 6th years same sensor replaced at usd200, fail to detect twindos detergent container. 7th years the twindos pump fitting broke and the detergent triggered the flood sensor (I diy the fitting from original plastic to stainless steel). 8th years, main board shorted, usd 400 to replace. 10th years, the washer won’t turn on. I love my Miele.
Beware of their W1 and T1 washer and dryer. They will constantly trip a GFCI outlet because of the inconsistent power flow. Work fine in a regular outlet and apparently they work fine in Europe with those power standards. It’s a wonder they ever were approved for use in the USA.
That's true but the smartphone app is garbage, unfortunately. The appliance cannot be remotely operated by more than just one user. Talked with service rep who said there is no plans to fix this...@@kobostinywings

Top washer✅
Thank you for such a clear and balanced presentation.
The W1 if you follow the DOS cleaning procedure will be reliable, sometimes can happen to have a bad DOS sensor but thats rare.
what do you think about jenn aire new rise and noir lines
Is there anything that you actually like?
When we bought our house it had Miele double ovens. I had never heard of the brand. After testing them with my oven thermometers, I was shocked, the only ovens I've ever used that were the exact temp they said they were. I own a home baking business and use them frequently. They've been amazing and I would gladly put these in again if needing replacement.
So glad to hear you are having a great experience with your Miele ovens!
Miele, Asko and a few others are the ONLY ovens to hold temp to 1-2c of set temp.
Used Miehle printing presses for 20 years before I realized they made vacuum cleaners and other consumer products. Great machines but a pain to maintain, our mechanics always had to call their tech person for maintenance just like your company. Lol
Miehle and Miele are different companies.
I have a Miele W1 and I discovered the motor is working with a fucking belt !!!! How Miele could sell a washing machine with a belt which cause vibration and can break ? For example LG washing machine are Direct Drive Motor !
Also there are some cons for Miele wash machine :
detergents in pods do not dissolve due to very low water level , same for softener
I don’t have a twindos model but if you watch some feedback you will see many people have problems with it : leaks and sometimes not liquid distribution. With other machine the system is in the top left corner but with Miele it’s at the bottom right .
Also if you use twindos keep in mind you have to buy Twindos care bottle to clean every 3 months the system. I didn’t see this necessity in LG/Samsung models
I also have a Miele dishwasher with Autodisk and it’s autodisk is not good sorry. the system dirty the dishwasher
great video totally honest review thank you much 🇨🇦👍🤗
Why add a flag to your comment? No one else does.. it's kind of embarrassing.
With the tariff wars which were not been rolled back, it makes buying non-USA products even more expensive!
Never had a GFCI trip due to my washer and dryer. Been using them daily for about 5 years.
Miele doesn’t use WiFi
This is incorrect, Wi-Fi has been available on many of their appliances for quite a few years now.
That's true but the smartphone app is garbage, unfortunately. The appliance cannot be remotely operated by more than just one user. Talked with service rep who said there is no plans to fix this...@@kobostinywings
Yep. Overpriced for what they offer. And their washing machine W1 with the auto dispenser, only works with their OWN washing liquid catridges. ONLY.
Incorrect. Miele sells refillable containers for their washers. Please do some research before coming to the wrong conclusions.
@@Dirty_Bear22 If they do, they make it really difficult to find it on their website. Couldn't find them. And they aptly forget to mention it in all their marketing material.
