I'd have to disagree, Jack's voice in this version is a bit sloppy in my opinion. I like his phrasing much more in this version ruclips.net/video/sXjeXEI7KHk/видео.html Jack had a great voice, but it seemed that he couldn't handle it sometimes
Jack Bruce is the greatest Rock singer and bass player of all time. Nothing has even come close to Cream. Nice to see people still come here and listen to the music that changed the world as we knew it.
This version of this song on this night in 1968 is the peak. Peak solo for Clapton possibly in his career, a howling wailing crying sound that one questions why is there nothing like it before or since. Baker's drums thundering through the movement as if four people are playing four different kits simultaneously. Bruce throwing everything he's got into his vocals, leaving no doubt of his commitment. Three people who could give a full orchestra their comeuppance.
On this day 51 years ago...these three jammed and it sounded like an 8 piece band. They named themselves CREAM....they were already considered the cream of the rock world. Jack Bruce's voice was the BEST. Unmatched.
Cream hadn't played in England for a year before these last two concerts. The last time anyone in England saw Cream was probably in a small club. They went form playing small clubs to stadiums in the space of 2.5 years.
I'm sure that this was the best that Cream played White Room. I have several downloads and none can compare. Bruce's outstanding vocals and bass playing coupled with Baker's pounding drumming. Then Clapton topped it with a solo that was probably his best, guess it is why we all know that they are Cream.
Agreed! Heard this when I was 13 and 13 years later still the best version Ive ever heard of this song! That Firebird solo tho! I wish i could find this exact copy as an mp3 file.
I'm agree.Best version of ever....Sound is very aggressive,powerful...Jack Bruce is at his top as vocals...Clapton solo with wah on that firebird 1 is killer...Ginger Baker is super...Over at "wheels of fire version" too...for me.
So sad to hear Jack Bruce passed a few weeks back. He could do it all- tremendous musician, great voice, and wrote some amazing songs. He cast a huge shadow over music and his legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace, Jack.
Whenever I see pictures of Eric clapton when he was younger, he never seems to bear any resemblance to how he looks now... completely different, I always think "who's that guy pretending to be Clapton"
Some things like that can be declared...just like the Beatles "will only happen once." I'm better than Nostradamus. If you don't believe me...just ask.
its not going to happen again music = death + death = dead i hate todays music i hate pop and rap etc... i hate the type that like it its all shit humanity = shit
I was in eleventh grade when I first heard this song, and Baker's drumming totally blew me away. Now, 50 years later, it still does. What a great band.
RIP Ginger. This version was on a video jukebox when I first starting going into my local pub. It was Ginger who fascinated me and got me into Cream. My favourite ever drummer 👍
Have many wonderful memories with this song. The song is about locking themselves into a white room to get clean off of the drugs. I did the same thing at the end of 87. At a friends apt. A golden classic
Heard this live version on the radio the other day just before I got out to pump gas and holy shit I cranked it up with the car door open and using the door as a drum, went ballistic, how come we never heard this verison more often, dammit!
In the white room with black curtains near the station Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves You said no strings could secure you at the station Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows I walked into such a sad time at the station As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd Consolation for the old wound now forgotten Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd; Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves
I don't know when I first heard this song as I was probably a baby hearing my dad play the studio version on his record player. What an amazing noise this song really is! It's like it has a place all of it's own in my mind or something.
Yeah, they just wanted to be done with it at this point. Saw them in Philly, November '68. My first rock concert! Clapton had the Firebird, and none of us had ever seen one before. Christ, I'd never seen Marshall amps before . . . terribly impressed with the whole thing. It shaped my life from that point.
Man, this guy that was filming Cream was literaly like a fourth psychedelic member of this band...crazy shots and zooming of faces and fingerboards.... but somehow brilliant.
My favorite Cream song. One of the very first albums I bought when I started working was The Best Of Cream. I was 9 when they broke up, far too young and a long long way from there being a kid Downunder.
Yeah, that’s the reason I come back to this video frequently. Jacks voice is so booming and powerful here. It’s the best version of White Room that’s ever been done.
Jack was incredible. Clapton has accomplished far more, though. From Cream to Layla to MTV's unplugged, and Tears In Heaven, he is among the absolute greatest rockers in history.
Jack's voice is ferocious in this - really underrated next to his 60s peers.
Say Roseanna Jack had a great voice, great range and yes very underrated.
I'd have to disagree, Jack's voice in this version is a bit sloppy in my opinion. I like his phrasing much more in this version ruclips.net/video/sXjeXEI7KHk/видео.html
Jack had a great voice, but it seemed that he couldn't handle it sometimes
Quixotic Indiscipline it’s the energy it’s brutal it captures you
Raw Unfiltered Hammer of the God!
@@mesyoup.3zy yeah, but he does a better job on the version I linked to in my previous comment
what a voice Jack had.. .WOW.....
Jack Bruce at his best, amazing voice and performance
Nooit geweest leugens naa3r schijterd tv.
Clapton has always been so stoic for the incredible sounds he produces.
RIP Jack Bruce. What a voice - a Rock voice for the ages. ♪♫

The beginning of the final solo is just the craziest sound!
Man that guitar FIGHTS BACK... definition of UNLEASHED!
Damn... we're running out of musicians like this.
On this day 51 years ago...these three jammed and it sounded like an 8 piece band. They named themselves CREAM....they were already considered the cream of the rock world. Jack Bruce's voice was the BEST. Unmatched.

The best acid song ever.
So sad to hear Jack Bruce passed a few weeks back. He could do it all- tremendous musician, great voice, and wrote some amazing songs. He cast a huge shadow over music and his legacy will live on forever.
Rest in peace, Jack.
Incredible live performance. Mind blowing. ONe of the best I've ever heard.
Miss the power trio.
Whenever I see pictures of Eric clapton when he was younger, he never seems to bear any resemblance to how he looks now... completely different, I always think "who's that guy pretending to be Clapton"
I think the same thing. Was there a swap somewhere? Because there is absolutely no likeness between the old and new Clapton's.
Until you hear that guitar smokin
LSD
Facts it’s call plastic surgery 🤔
first time watching this and what i see is OMG i'm not that bad on guitar i as thought, this is clapton and he sounds like i do in a garage drunk!
This is a magnificent performance. Damn, those guys rocked.
This is ground zero for the best music in my lifetime. It doesn't get any better.
If there were a song to define the sixties in the West, this is the one. Instant imagery and emotion.
This is from an era of "great British and American music"...60's and 70's classic rock. This great explosion will never happen again.
Some things like that can be declared...just like the Beatles "will only happen once." I'm better than Nostradamus. If you don't believe me...just ask.
its not going to happen again music = death + death = dead i hate todays music i hate pop and rap etc... i hate the type that like it its all shit humanity = shit
fuckington header humanity isn't shit you're just a pretentious pile of shit
sunking2001 good. It shouldn't happen again. Music ought to change constantly.
why if something is good should it be changed to shit fuckhead
4:04 Eric Clapton greatest guitarsolo ever.
Ginger was my favourite drummer of all time. This performance is the reason why. Heavy emotions right now. Rock in peace Ginger 🤘 ✌️
I was in eleventh grade when I first heard this song, and Baker's drumming totally blew me away. Now, 50 years later, it still does. What a great band.
Best version of white room there is, and only 1000 likes? What the hell is wrong with people.
Agreed, this is by far the definitive version of this song and should be the version included in all Cream compilation albums.
such a raw powerful performance, rest in peace Jack Bruce
Goodbye, Jack.
It's not goodbye. It's see you later. RIP Jack. Have a good jam with Jimi.
I'm not sure there's an after life where Jimy, Jim Morrison and Jack or Brian Jones have a jam together. Wish there was!
Gabriele Voak Faith baby, not fear. There is.
Gabriele 95 RIP, Jack Bruce. :(
And now it’s goodbye to Ginger also
Cream: the greatest.
Those people were lucky to listened and saw that amazing band live.
RIP Jack Bruce, will probably continue to listen to Cream till the end of my days. Thanks for everything.
Just blows me away 45 years later. Really!! Amazing.
This is tremendous. I love the studio version but they are unleashed here. You can feel the fury
R.I.P. Jack. A true rock legend.
what a wildy perfomance.Awesome guitar solo by Clapton .Rip Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.
Best formula!! The singing, drums and the guitar... The ultimate symbiosis for an epic song ❤
Now this is ROCK N ROLL !!!
these camera angles wouldn't flatter jesus thank god the music is good
i couldnt record it any better on my cellphone while jamming out either.
Jack Bruce should be the patron saint of Scotland
Some bands I never get tired of listening to.
Cream three masters in their prime, the power trio of the ages. There will never be a successor.

Im proud to be a drummer in my school band...AND A GINGER!!!
this is the best of all versions
So cool, so confident, so Cream. Nothing else to say.
So true!
Dodie Thomson Yes. They played their asses off on this. It is simply the best live version of White Room that they have ever performed. Classic.
Groovy song. Enjoyed dancing to it at frat parties.
Heard this live version on the radio the other day just before I got out to pump gas and holy shit I cranked it up with the car door open and using the door as a drum, went ballistic, how come we never heard this verison more often, dammit!
In the white room with black curtains near the station
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment
I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves
You said no strings could secure you at the station
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows
I walked into such a sad time at the station
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning
I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves
At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings
I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves
I lived it in the back of the cafe in the dark best music
amo esta cancion sobre todo por los cambios de voz que hacia este hombre maravilloso gran hit de antaño
Ginger Baker...... Living legend! Father of all drummers!
Rock 'n Roll Gods and while we're at it, let's include Steve Winwood among so many others!
Holy shit Jack could belt out a tune in his day
What a performance! R.I.P. Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker - gone but not forgotten.
ANOTHER OF THE GREATS HAVE LEFT US - R.I.P MR BRUCE .
This song instantly transported me back to where I want to be....♥
I ignore most of today. I stay “there”.
I don't know when I first heard this song as I was probably a baby hearing my dad play the studio version on his record player. What an amazing noise this song really is! It's like it has a place all of it's own in my mind or something.
Amazing..talent absolutely comparable to the Stones and Beatles..
The best version
best 3 man group ever still great after 50yrs! saw them at the the old garden 47 or so yrs ago
better than Jimi Hendrix Experience?
Yes. Take your pick. There were others also but cream was most influential .
Can you imagine the most fantastic natural high they are all on together. Clasic man clasic! The best.
One of the best drum sessions.
R.I.P. Jack Bruce.
Forever in our hearts!!!
才能のぶつかり合い。
There is Queen at Live Aid at Wembley in '85 as the all-time top live performance, and next comes Cream at the Albert Hall playing White Room in '68.
Electrifying!
Hi Chanel
Ginger Baker always played in the moment. Love the improvisatory qualities in his playing.
Vale Jack Bruce. Thanks for the great music............you will never die .............
Thank you for the music, Jack. You are one of my heroes. Rest In Peace.
this was pure:"fuck of", we ll do it live and we dont care if universe turns up side down...
The way Eric starts the freaking solo 4:00 after the perfect cue from Ginger, and Jack leading with bass. Damn.
This is a master class in druming.
PURE. FUCKING. ROCK.
Man, this guy that was filming Cream was literaly like a fourth psychedelic member of this band...crazy shots and zooming of faces and fingerboards.... but somehow brilliant.

Worlds first super group, jack Bruce lives on

Wow there is no mistaking Eric Clapton playing, and Jack's Voice top notch and this is what 40 years later
My favorite Cream song. One of the very first albums I bought when I started working was The Best Of Cream. I was 9 when they broke up, far too young and a long long way from there being a kid Downunder.
what a sound,to their own!
I can't wait for rocknroll or music in general to get back to this! Where its about how the music sounds and not the looks!
Beware of Mr. Baker!!!! Best Drummer EVER!!!!!
Hi Teresa
R.I.P jack...thank you for these wonderful moments, mate....
Love it!
Hi Pam
Albert Hal,l 1968 - one of the memorable moments of my life. Bye, Jack, and thanks for the memories.
Makes my top 5 best ever. Original super group. Had a lot of great songs, none top this riff though.
I really like how Jack's voice has some strange echo added to it. Powerful.
Yeah, that’s the reason I come back to this video frequently. Jacks voice is so booming and powerful here. It’s the best version of White Room that’s ever been done.
PURE MAGIC ENERGY STRANGE
Jack Bruce was The most accomplished musician in Cream, a brilliant man with a brilliant voice.
Jack was incredible. Clapton has accomplished far more, though. From Cream to Layla to MTV's unplugged, and Tears In Heaven, he is among the absolute greatest rockers in history.
Jack Bruce is awsome!
I wish I could be at that concert... what a fantastic way to go deaf
RIP Ginger Baker one of the greatest of all times
Cream at their best & the best footage I've seen of this, thank you. 👍
Great solo!
Really enjoyed Credence maybe 2 weeks ago but I can't remember the last time I heard cream. It was great!
The Joker made me love this song even more if that's possible!! Hahahah
duncan daird damn right, bro
This is just brilliant thanks for the upload.👏👏👏
Idk why this camera man thought it wise to just keep showing close up of Jack's mouth instead of say, ya know…maybe Clapton's hands….
because you are stupid.
Erendislevrai Good one man, I can tell that was a well thought out response......RIP Jack.
Maybe because Clapton isn't the only one in the band, man, haha
clapton had club hands and didn't like them to be on camera. until he got them fixed that is.
Im so glad,Im so glad he did ;)
Thanks for posting!!!!
