Incident summary:
Casualties: 0
Injuries: 0*
Property damage: Single submarine drone and potential damage to the researcher's suit.
After the satellite repair, which proceeded without incident, the satellite detected ice and liquid water in the distance.
A MRC vehicle was sent out to gather samples and explore the area.
While driving to the research site the researcher observed a point of interest, several cavern openings in the mountain side. The researcher stopped the vehicle and went to investigate on their own. Upon reaching a bifurcation in the cave system the researcher returned to the vehicle. Good call, especially after the last incident involving a cave.
The researcher resumed the expedition, but nearby the cave entrances encountered a rock formation with a most likely built structure at its centre, resembling the early neolithic megalithic structures of the north middle east. Upon entering the structure the suit's recording device experienced an apparent glitch. Along with the recording device the suit's digital clock experienced a glitch corresponding to the recording, indicating a potential encounter with a temporal anomaly. The researcher subsequently reported a feeling of disorientation and memory issues on several occasions. *Medical examination is advised.
Upon encountering the "glitch" the researcher returned to his vehicle and arrived at the site. The site was confirmed to be a lake surrounded by ice with alien devices floating above the water surface.
A remote mineral probe rover was used to obtain a sample of the fluid. The tests indicated water of high salinity and CO2 content, likely originating from the hot spring vents at the bottom of the salt lake. The sample also contained dead microbes and traces of floral remains, likely some form of pollen. This closed ecosystem is a breakthrough in our understanding of extraterrestrial life forms and should be studied closer with a forward research base before it is disturbed by industrial use.
The water's high salinity has made the underwater exploration difficult to execute. The researcher therefore returned to base and brought back a submarine drone. The nearby alien devices were intentionally disturbed to investigate their behaviour. The devices reacted to the disturbance by setting off what seemed as an alarm, but had no further effect. The researcher proceeded to investigate the bottom of the lake finding a device which was interpreted as a translator. Having no reliable way to retrieve the device it was left in-situ to be retrieved by a future expedition. This "translator" may have a connection to the 04 - "Green Eye" incident and its possession is of high priority to resolving the incident or progressing the research on the floating alien flora.
Upon return to the surface the researcher disturbed another alien device, due to its apparent difference to the other devices. The device indicated a timer upon disturbance, followed by an explosion. The researcher was unable to extract the drone in time and the explosion led to the loss of the drone. Investigating the wreckage an alien device was located on the surface and retrieved personally. This device is suspected to be a part of the exploding device, likely a black box of some sort.
Upon returning to base with the extracted device the researcher observed a repeating anomalous event tied to the drone sub transport vehicle. A piece of metal resembling a part of the destroyed submarine was appearing near the vehicle and upon contact with the ground it disappeared and after a short delay repeated the motion. While the researcher investigated the anomaly the piece collided with his suit without causing any substantial damage. It is still advised the vehicle is kept in isolation until the anomaly passes or progresses. The extracted device remained outside along with the vehicle, to prevent any damage to the base while the purpose of the device is still unknown.
Additional security concerns: It has been a while since the last incident. I'd like to commend the present researcher on handling the satellite repair despite their lack of expertise. While the satellite is still operational we should use it to explore the rest of the surrounding area.
The damage to the garage wall is still not fixed. This problem shouldn't be difficult to resolve, the repair vehicle has already been used to repair a far more delicate and complex problem than welding up a hole.
[ADEDUM 01]
On site researcher show's no sense of self preservation exemplified by approaching alien structure and artifacts without having any concerns about safety, breaking multiple safety protocols, This is not something to overlook. On site personal is to advice to have a fiscal and psychological exam ASAP.
Addendum 02:
While not seeming to have a sense of self-preservation, On-site Researcher refuses to bring the Alien artifact into the base. This is understandable, as the last time an Alien artifact was brought inside, the Monolith Incident occurred.

Theory: the rock structure is a really old structure that old aliens built long time ago (similar to the stone circle thing from earth that we don't know why or how it was built)and did some magicle things and the modern aliens found out about and learned how to master it giving them a huge lead for there race but something went wrong and out of no where they all disappeared and the only remains are their technology that were so efficiently built that they lasted 3 times longer than the human race and its our job to find out what went wrong. Item #: Marsian Anomaly Containment - 005 (MAC-005)
Class: Euclid
A seemingly spacetime anomaly which has differenciating effects on any human in the middle. It is currently unclear whether the anomaly has any current effects on modular vehicles/remote vehicles further testing shall prove or debunk it. It seems to be an object made of ███ rocks, of which it is made out of, is yet unclear. There are pillars in the form of a 'T' shape inside of a circle around 1.5 metres high.
CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
MAC-005 must be kept in an air-tight chamber at Site-██ and no fewer than 2 people must enter. Only employees with a clearance level higher than [REDACTED] can enter, as the anomaly has not been tested on. MAC-005 does not have any organs, and has not shown any signs of ███ class activity. As the anomaly has not been tested on, employees with a clearence level higher than █ can conduct experiments with D-class employees.

The sphere is not alien tech, it's part of the submersible. It's called a spaceship core from MJM sci-fi mod it make building flying/hover vehicles easy.

Some context: Don Juan Pond is a body of water in Antarctica, and is the saltiest body of water on the planet! It is very small but very salty, with a salinity level of around 44% It's shallow but either way good luck getting anything to sink.

Even aliens know that red is a colour for enemies, hostility and explody things and blue is colour for friendlies, hospitality and fluffy things. You don't go nudging explody things. Maybe Scrapman got confused because his own colour is red.

Fun fact. Is due to the density and force of gravity that impacts floatation force. So diving in salty water is easier to dive into on Mars. Not harder.
Because the forces forcing you to float are reduced relative to gravity. While your ability to swim and density of the water will remain the same. So you wouldn't swim faster... Just diving would be easier. And you couldn't rely on floatation forces as much.
Also you can't float on water in 0g. Because there is no up.
I appreciate the se of science to explain things, such as the relation between salt content and boyancy
Maybe the really salty lake exista because the mars surface around the base was an océano that dried out, leaving only a lake and lots of salt in a small crater.
I think the orange core might be a part of the sub drone, what is really important is that temporal aberration

An idea: what if the alien thing you brought back from the mission contains some of the green floating rocks from the cave as an enegy source, but as the green stuff is unstable the cores use a tamer blue variant of the material instead
i know I'm extremely late, as at the time i watched this when i first came out i didnt know this, but i have a theory on the "water" lake, instead of the lake containing water, it contained deuterium, which acts like water and can support life, and is heavier than water (perhaps why a high salt concentration was detected), but boils and freezes at the same temp as water, so instead of being water, it was deuterium
i think the "ipad" is supposed to teach you the symbolic language that is written below "The Eye"

The Entity, at least from our gathered knowledge, tricks its prey into coming near it by hiding in the ground, taking parts of destroyed builds/remains of its past prey and doing weird things with them to catch its preys attention. Once its prey is _to close_ to it, there is a high chance that disaster will strike, paralyzing its _victims_ and shredding them apart. It _will_ use the preys remains to attract attention to other prey, looping the _cycle._

Name: The Droning Pond

Class: Euclid
The object looks like a large pond of some sorts, of which the water is very buoyant. It's also hard to see through the water, most likely due to the abundance of salt in the water keeping large items afloat. It is surrounded by rocks, tinted in a cyan-ish colour, although it is currently unclear what the rocks are made of, further testing shall provide answers. The pond also has drones floating just above it, the drones seem to automatically stabilise when touched, even at the molecular level.
There is one red drone in the middle floating above the water, and when touched it will explode *(see addendum 1: MAC-001)* . Only employees with a higher clearance level than 3 can enter the anomaly's containment. No less than 2 employees can enter at a time incase a different anomaly occurs. There is also a large box at the bottom of the lake, labelled MAC-001-A which was most likely used by an extraterrestial species to translate their own language into ours.
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
MAC-001 is to be kept in it's original area always in a reinforced steel box, 15x10x15 metres in size and no human is allowed in containment without Dr. ScrapMan's and M2-11 Council's explicit permission. Any testing is to be done with specialized robots from Site - ███. Any of the drones are not allowed to be touched. Experiments have not yet been conducted with D-Class employees and are only allowed to happen with the express clearance of Dr. ScrapMan and the M2-12 Council.

*This experiment was conducted by Dr. ScrapMan after first discovering the anomaly. The experiment was done to know more about the object's description, class and containment procedures.*

Dr. ScrapMan: Uhh, not yet, I'll notify you about any other si- OH FU-
[The submarine blows up after touching a red drone in the middle of the pond at the top.]
M2-10 Council: (PSHHT) What was that? Dr. ScrapMan are you alive? (PSHHT) Hello? (PSHHT)
Dr. ScrapMan: Uhm, yes I'm alright, though I do have some bad news.
M2-10 Council: (PSHHT) What is it? (PSHHT)
Dr. ScrapMan: The uhmm submarine blew up after touching the red drone in the middle, now there's a type of solid orb in the waters.
M2-10 Council: (PSHHT) Ok, just stay there, maybe move away a little, and MTF - Umicle 12 will enter the building and search for any Keter class anomalies. (PSHHT)
Dr. ScrapMan: Alright, uhh, I'll stay here then.

status report about DarkRivals:
Most of the researchers Discovery has some how managed to spread into other corporates.
mostly DarkRivals have gotten more attention, records shows that DarkRivals have started to move to the researchers location with what looks like side strafing octogonal shaped ai equipped with equipment for what seems like it's made for harm, which makes sense because we have learned DarkRivals are a aggressive corporation.
SM research inc won't have any of it!
