Thank you ... at age 69 a friend just bought me this same kit And I have been scared and worried.. but you make it seem approachable,.. THANK YOU ... Ooh this is so wonderful .. Thank you
this is sooooo cool james!!!! can't wait to see what else you get up to with this! also super curious to see how all the other crafts you get up to inspire your knitting and vice versa. god making stuff is so cool lol
You are capable. You are resourceful. You are a problem solver. You were scared, but you did a thing you’ve never done. Hell yah! Thanks for sharing your process video. “This is not a tutorial video, okay?” 😂 ❤️
Loved the demo! I'm originally from Bolivia and I've always wanted to learn how to weave because it is a much more ancestral craft (that predates the arrival of the Spaniards) than knitting there. I do live in an apartment though, so owning a big loom is out of the question but I had started eyeing inkle looms too. It's great to see a video from a new-to-weaving perspective, I'm even more tempted now and hope you keep showing updates on your progress.
I hope you decide to try it out! You could even try backstrap weaving! I’m already warping my next band, and look forward to trying more complex weaving styles.
Thanks SO much for this! I've been thinking about giving this a go, and now I can see it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Doesn't look too hard, but the warping might take more patience than I have at this moment, lol.
If you don’t want to deal with a clamp I recommend getting some grippy shelf liner and putting your loom on that. Works beautifully and will still allow you to easily move the loom if you need to.
Really appreciate you making this video James. I bought an inkle loom a couple of months ago, have put it together but haven't been able to take the next step.
@@yarnaboutyarn it’s so scary so I understand!! But please try it even if you make an ugly band full of knots, that’s what a first project is supposed to look like. It’s fun!

Great video. If you're really worried about the ends coming undone, you can use a dab of permanent fabric glue to secure the ends of the weavings.
James! This was the best video!!!! Love it!!!! All of it was amazing and those are beautiful. All the best, Kimberly
These turned out super cool. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder if the clamp is to clamp the loom to a table when you use it?
Thank you for sharing your experience.
@@dianneduggan6493 omg that would make sense. I may or may not have tossed it 😅

Great video James, you have made editing your friend! But now I want a inkle loom!😂
Hmmm u probably need one!!
Inspiring! Do you think sock yarn would work for this or nah?

I am definitely buying an inkle loom now if I find one at the fiber expo here in a couple weeks.
@@derekstallman I highly recommend it!

I have been reading a ton of Greek mythology retelling which has made me really want to pick up weaving! This looked intense though. 🫣
I started warping my second project today and it already feels soooo much easier and more intuitive.
