James, YOU'RE AN AMAZING PERSON and a joy. I agree whole heartedly with you on all, haha! I love how you say "it gets real grimm" lol.. I love the sweater you're wearing ( went and got the sweater and hat pattern), and the ornaments. Your mom's ornaments are gorgeous and the tree makes it so cozy. I cannot believe you swim in the water when it's so cold- that's wild! 🤣Stay warm and thanks for the yappathon. Always fun! Best, Kimberly
You are officially a Chicagoan now that you've used a cookie sheet as a windshield scraper! I appreciate the ethical conversation - all good thoughts. I've unravelled a lot of thrift store sweaters for yarn, but it is VERY labor intensive. It's really a whole other hobby and not realistic for most people who just want to knit. We're all just doing the best we can.
Your podcast is my favourite! I’m going to cast on your worsted jumper pattern soon for my partner and looking forward to knitting the dk one when it comes out for myself ❤
Loved catching up with you in your yapathon. There too much unkindness and I only criticize in my head but not at you😀 Your mom’s ornament is great and I noticed the sparkly lantern right away. Your whole scene is so festive. I hope someone offers you a thousand dollars so we can watch your pitch!!
James, I love your realness, because you were so honest with us,I'm going to be honest as well.... my pfp is from around 2008, now I'm gray and fat 😀 Also I love deconstructing thrift store sweaters ,because I am literally poor , but also find it therapeutic
love the ethical convo.. i'm vegan so it's all about the treatment of animals for me.. I don't buy wool because I know there are sheep out there being treated terribly for the product they produce.. but then there are small farms who love their sheep and take good care of them, but I sustain from buying wool for the bigger picture, but there is definitely an inner dialogue going on in my mind.. like .. "but should I support the small farms? so that the bigger brands don't win out?" but yeah ... we're all gonna die
I’m with you on the pattern tutorials and consumerism. And that hat is everything! I will push back on one thing. Over the thousands of years we’ve been domesticating animals, we’ve bread sheep to be reliant on us to sheer them. The hair has to come off for their health, and they are millennia from self sufficiency in that area. 😊
loved every minute of it, no pressure but please feel free to keep on recording longer videos, it's so refreshing ❤
