Gina Carano was asked about the whole casting couch issue and her response was "I don't know why they didn't just turn around and leave." It's a good question. Is fame really so important? Is it a surprise that this exists when it's as old as Hollywood itself? Hollywood has some kind of cheek preaching its bent morality to any of us. It's laughable.

It's easier to get exactly what you wanted, but complain about the price years later so you can be a "victim" instead of the prostitute your actions proved you to be. This is no different from a woman having a completely consensual one night stand but regretting it years later and deciding it was actually rape.
One story an unknown, forgotten woman who didn’t end up with a successful Hollywood career details how she was uncomfortable to enter a room alone with Harvey, as though she didn’t know of his crimes, she still sensed his evil. She had to speak to him for her job that day, though, so she got the spoken affirmation of his assistant (Leslie headland’s immediate predecessor) that she would be accompanied into the room. The assistant lied, and the poor woman was locked in the room with that monster, screaming for help. When she filed a complaint (if my memory serves me, I heard this story a long while ago), her complaints were never followed up upon. Her career then failed totally, and her story only went public after she retold it post-Weinstein-outing, once all the famous women who didn’t care before made a ruckus to save face. The harpies who started the feminist version of the Reign of Terror only did so for attention, not because they actually care about women.
From my experience, it's because of how women socialize. They put a lot of emphasis on their image and compare to each other a lot. Let's imagine for example, if a girl tells her friend that she's going to make it to Hollywood and is having an interview next week. If she refuses, her friends would rip her apart. You know how women are. Even worse, modern feminism "forces" women to be "successful". Their pressure to be successful is even bigger now.
Remember how mad they got at any men who said they were also assaulted.

While every criticism of this video is good, something sneaky got missed. The fact is, the NYT story breaking the Weinstein story WASN'T the all important story even at that moment. It was Ronan Farrow's story in the New Yorker, which was better researched and had much more detail, that made the real splash and was the story everyone was talking about. This whole movie is a rewriting of history to erase that a man was the one to truly break this story in the first place.
Importantly, Farrow's story had been worked on for multiple years, and was meant to be published at NBC several months prior to the publishing of the NYT's story, but very obviously Weinstein and/or associates had the story pulled at the last moments, and he had to work through the months long process of getting a new publisher to run the story. Mind you, in those very specific months, that's when the two NYT writers "discovered" this story and did the "research" for it for their publication.
It's extremely obvious to anyone who knows how the reporting industry functions, especially in New York, that the editors of the NYT were clued in advance that Farrow's story was coming, and put these two reporters onto the story in order to try and get the scoop on Farrow. Their reporting was less thorough, less detailed, and overall, just less, than his. But they managed to sneak it in just 5 days before his story broke, which, mind you was in a monthly magazine wheras the NYT is a daily paper. Meaning it was a story that'd been in the editing department and legal departments for at least 3 weeks to a month in advance of them filing their story while they were rushing to put it out any time.
This is such a shady practice that even at the height of MeToo going nuts, even the Pulitzer committee that wanted to give the award to these two "brave" women for their reporting knew they couldn't solely give the award to them, and they had to share it with Farrow, because it was very obvious that it was his story to begin with, and he had done all the real work on it. They were just following up on leads he'd already discovered and talking to people he'd already talked to. If they hadn't given him that credit, it's possible that he might've sued the NYT and made a very large scandal over accreditation over such an impactful story basically being snaked from him due to back channel chatter from editors he'd worked with while at NBC.
So again, apart from every other extremely valid criticism in this video, this movie (and the laughable book it's based on) is an attempt by these two women and the NYT to pretend that they're important journalists when the reality is that even in the work they do that "causes a major social impact" has to essentially be stolen from independents who are actually putting in the hours to find stories. Always remember that when Hollywood does something like this, they're attempting to create an "official" history of the event, and in that history, they're picking very deliberately to ignore lots of inconvenient truths.
Chris Gore brought this up in Film Threat, but it bears repeating: this movie is disgusting. This is Hollywood giving itself a slap on the wrist for all the abuse its inflicted on its actresses. This is Hollywood throwing up its hands and yelling "Okay, we know we fucked up, can we just move on?" while continuing those same practices that have plagued Hollywood for years.
This movie also completely neglects several issues:
1) The same women who blew the Whistle on Weinstein had no problem posing in pics with him, eating at his dinner table, holding him by the arm, hugging him, kissing him on the cheek. This movie is just Hollywood absolving itself of any blame towards themselves and the whistleblowers who were willing to ride his coattails for clout. Both Weinstein and the actresses that associated with him are to blame, but the movie never acknowledges this.
2) The movie completely ignored the men and children who still get sexually abused in Hollywood. Terry Crews admitted to being sexually harrassed by a high-level Hollywood executve in 2017, and save for people laughing at him, it was never brought up again in the media. Corey Feldman has been calling out the sexual abuse of children for years, and to this day, people still call him crazy. Then of course there's Dan Schneider, who's conduct towards the minors in his shows was put on full blast, and yet he was able to retire while writing a pilot for a new show. Jenny McCarthy sexually assaulted Justin Beiber, going as far as to spank him on stage.
Sexual abuse in Hollywood is a RAMPANT issue, and has been going on for years, and almost completely unpunished. Yet THIS films has the unmitigated gall to paint a brush over it in favor of the women who macked on Weinstein for years, then called out his behavior when it was convenient. Now anytime someone brings up the numerous abused allegations that happen all the time in Hollywood, they can just point at this movie as proof that it gets called out, and that's not good enough. EVERYONE needs to own up, not just Weinstein.

The real victims of the MeToo movement are the thousands of pretty girls in highschool drama classes, who put all their aspirations on finding a casting couch in Hollywood. It's absurd to think these actresses didn't know what they were doing. Notice that those actresses who ended up on the A-List were the last to speak up, those who got the opportunity for success but never really achieved the top tier they hoped for were the first. After all, the term "casting couch" is as old as Hollywood itself. These actresses wanted desperately to be included in the bubble of Hollywood culture, to surround themselves with exactly these types of men. Then they insulted the vast majority of the male population by claiming we're all just like that tiny fraction of men they've tied their whole lives to.
Utterly ignoring that had they ALL refused to exchange sex for roles, men wouldn’t have been able to demand it. Because they need women for roles eventually. If they also hadn’t taken apart in this culture, it wouldn’t be able to continue happening.

The two female reporters this movie centers around didn't even break the Weinstein story, Ronan Farrow did. He gets briefly name-checked in the dialogue, but that's it. I guess giving credit where it's actually due would undercut the movie's "men are all bad", "we're taking on the system" message, and we can't have that. For that matter, how scary is "the system" when a major newspaper like the Times is publishing articles against it?

You know, that is an interesting observation. If by the left's modern standards sex as a part of a transaction is not morally wrong, then what did Harvey do wrong? He made the perfectly morally legitimate transaction of a role in hollywood in exchange for sex, arguably a better deal than the one time payment most sex workers get.

He's now in care after my insane ex-wife was believed time after time after time, despite no findings being made against me at all, and actually being an excellent father. The family court is full of swivel eyed feminists. After 7 years, not one has listened to me. Me Too still continues.

When my cousin divorced her husband, her lawyer outright told her that it would all go easier if she deliberately bonked herself on the head, enough to cause a bump, then called the cops and blamed the husband for it. Like, this is just okay to do. Respect to my cousin, she never did it, and never tried to deny her kids time with their father. We were told Biden was trying to remove Trump from office, so we couldn't deal with her, couldn't give her air time, couldn't consider what she had to say because getting Trump out of office was a bigger problem than her.
It was always 'Beleive all women when it is convenient', and that moment exposed it for all the supporters to see, even though that saying was obvious from the start.
It was already on its way out but Amber Heard's shit was the final nail in the coffin and what caused a lot of fence sitters to side against it openly.
It also was destroyed when Biden was accused of assaulting Tara Reade in 1993. Funny that the media didn't believe her.
Patricia Clarkson screaming at the unsuspecting guy at the bar is so metaphoric for the MeToo Movement: a perfectly innocent man being abused by a woman who didn’t have the courage to stand up to her real abusers, if they even existed at all.

One of the worst stories i remember coming out of the metoo movement was a girl trying to cancel this comedian(forgive me i cant remember the name) saying that they went on a date and she was uncomfortable. He invited her back to his place and she went with him, she didn't say anything to him, but he should have KNOWN she was uncomfortable. They made out and she felt so disgusted that he didnt know that she wasnt happy with how the date was going. She left his apartment and said he was a disgusting male with power that needed to be called out for not knowing she wasn't ok with making out despite the fact that she did any ways. She felt pressure because men always expect women to please them 🤨

I'm sorry to hear that your relationship with your Sister has been affected in such a negative way by this @kristine. I lost a Cousin, who was like a Brother to me a few years ago. However, the last couple years of his life we didn't talk or meet up as much as we used to. He was only 2 years older than me, I was 39 at the time, so I figured we still have plenty of time to reconnect in the future. But the future never came, I got a phone call from my Mother and just like that, he was gone.

I've come to really hate how men are portrayed in media, mostly because it portrays them all as either weak, hateful, or just dickheads. There are no more heroes like Indiana Jones or Rick O'Connell, those type of characters have long since passed, and what we're left with is just pathetic. John Wick is the only one I can think of that actually acts like the badass he's built up to be.
Or the fact that male protagonists are becoming rare or replaced, disney used to do male protagonists even if they were in the minority but that practice is not recommendable anymore because of things like the M-SHE-U effect which harms the promoting of male characters and destroys female characterization.
@@yassinefarah2423 Yeah...It really pains me to see the MCU go out like this. I was a big fan of them from Iron Man 2 up until maybe The Eternals. Captain Marvel was where I started noticing the transition, and throughout their next phase it's just become so blatant. I was actually really hyped for their Fantastic 4 movie when they acquired Fox, but now there is none. I feel no hype for their movies anymore. The last one I enjoyed of theirs was No Way Home, and that was in 2021. Multiverse of Madness, while good popcorn entertainment, it couldn't match the original movie.
Not a movie but Clive Rosfield from the recently released Final Fantasy XVI is a pretty bada$$ man, he’s a gentleman but could also cut you in two without batting a lash. Something else to consider, MeToo/"Trust All [birthing persons]" came in the lead-up to the 2016 election. Funny, how demands to trust all [birthing persons] without question (with questioning becoming grounds for cancelation) coincided with a campaign around _a female candidate._ Not only that, but a Cluster-B with a disconcerting amount of criminal activity, sudden disappearances, and mysterious disappearances around her. Funny, how it suddenly became taboo to criticize said candidate or ask several important questions of/about her specifically without the risk of being labeled a misogynist and losing one's livelihood (or worse...).

I just want to note something about the segment at around 30:00 that states that about 2-10% of men were falsely accused. This number only takes into account those who were proven innocent, and not those who had the charges against them dropped or unsubstantiated. So the number of falsely accused men is in the worst case about 60%
TL;DR once did a video about studies on rape allegations, and those studies had wildly different results, up to 80% false, but mostly averaged around 1/3 charges being demonstrably BS.
Possibly the most noble thing about that "movement" (movements are usually a grassroots phenomena, not a top-down synthesis) is that it empowered countless women to climb over their enemies (countless equally powerless men) in pursuit of individualistic ambitions. So brave...
I vaguely remember this film coming out, but had zero interest in watching it because I knew that it would be a huge anti-men, "always believe the woman" kind of film with lots of rants against men in general, unpleasant and rude behaviour towards men (as seen by Carey Mulligan shouting obscenities at a man politely and timidly wanting to ask them something). What Harvey Weinstein did was disgusting, but to single him out and to view men in general as all being predators ignores the fact that sexual assault and abuse does work both ways. It's ironic and a little gratifying to have learnt that Asia Argento, one of the loudest, most shrill voices in the Me Too movement, was accused of sexually harassing and assaulting a young lad. "Always believe the woman" and "attack all men" still seemed to be somewhat selective though: as long as the woman does not accuse somebody like, for example, a certain former USA president from the 90s. At least those few women who have been accusing him, or a few other politicians, of things like actual forcible rape for years never seemed to get talked about much, if at all, by these big newspapers and their brave journalists even during the heydays of that movement.

What bugged me the most about the "me too" nonsense was the presentation that this was some kind of profound "new" discovery...and that Hollywood and other industries hadn't been like this for decades. There have been tons and tons of Hollywood produced films which acknowledge the 'blow the boss and get the job' stereotype. It's been a cultural phenomenon across the world since anyone held power over someone else they believed was sexually attractive. This sudden "revelation" wasn't...at all.
It also - of course - never addresses the hugely successful women who are now millionaires because they did 'blow the boss', etc. Anyone has the capacity to walk out of an office, and change their own career trajectory. These women didn't..they opted for the easy solution, to get the jump on the other twenty women sitting in the casting hallway. It's easy to suddenly become a victim when you made a choice 20-25 years ago that resulted in you becoming a millionaire and now you can suddenly regret it to your own benefit. This isn't about blaming the victim, but about ignoring their complicit behaviour in such situations.
What's much more compelling is how quid pro quo abuse can become so normalized in a social circle that onlookers might be disgusted, but assume that it's "part of the culture" and that everyone bought into it.
No one's shocked that Hollywood's full of lecherous old men and moral degenerates. What's surprising is suddenly their special morality exceptions got turned off.

The other day I reached the side door most of us enter at work, knowing there was a woman walking just behind me I opened the door and held it for her. Look, I am old school, I open doors for women, I am not going to change. Anyway, this woman is walking and staring at her cell phone. Did not slow down, did not say anything, walked by as though I was the doorman that life put there just for her benefit (she appeared to be about 27 years old). So, gentlemen, we have a choice. We can either ignore this childish behavior or not. Each situation is different, however, the millennials are much the same, just awful.

Drinker and Nerdrodic are intelligent men and their rants are entertaining, because they can package them well from an angle, but they pretty much say all the same things that all other people say (people, that are more repetitive and less eloquent). I still like to keep up with their videos. Drinker for example has a similar film taste to mine, but I don't watch Friday Night Tights for example as it's all the same stuff just repeated by different people for a few hours and it does create an echo chamber.

Do you know what is funny? 2 women did worse with me on a party. They heard about me, and asked me, if I am "the Leon". That's something that happens from time to time.
One of them said, sadly she has a boyfriend, but the other woman, her roommate, hasn't, so maybe I want to come with them and have some fun. I am in germany, their place was 40km, ~25 miles from the party, maybe 45 minutes to drive. I was 20, and they were young students, very good looking, and couldn't take the "no". They tried to convince me for 1 hour, and after I told them, my friend is very drunk, that it's my fault, and I am worried, and want to look for him, and they misunderstood it, and said, they didn't know, I was gay. Nobody has told them. They apologized and left.
I had a reputation, not as male sl*t, but as a guy, who cares for others, who understand others, who helps and really could change some lives.
Who went through terrible things, survived some bad stuff, but who is a fighter, stays positive, and so on. As gentle, as strong, and such stuff.
I know that's what people said about me. That's why they were interested in me. I can understand that, and think, that roommate looked for someone, who makes her feel secure, who understands her, who cares.
She seemed very shy. Going to university, being out of your family's home for the first time, that can be hard. But I don't sleep with random woman, who heard about me and ask me for that on a party.

And what has this wrought for women? No more mentorships from men. No more travel with your male boss alone. No more meetings alone with men with the door closed. No more fun with innocent jokes in the workplace. People realizing women lie. Shocker! And this is the environment still today.

When I was younger, I always heard of girls complaining being cat called or asked out in bars. So I never did, and never will, and none of my friends ever did or will either. Hard to say if I've ever seen this in person in my lifetime. Yet I still hear women complaining about this. Every day.
The “casting couch” euphemism has been known about since the very beginning of the studio system back in the 1920’s and 30’s. Why, suddenly, is it considered to be such a big revelation?
A movie about getting rid of our enemies both political and social but protecting and being ok with our friends who do the exact same shit as our enemies. A masterclass in film making.
It is a shame that this movie apparently didn't take the opportunity to actually portray an accurate reflection of the issue and truly acknowledge all the nasty gray areas and moral ambiguity going on. So many people knew about this, so many people participated in this, and so many people refused to really take a stand or choose to not perpetuate this culture once they could. I think that's a much better and more impactful story to tell. A story that made people take a hard look at their own morals and bravery, that asks people to not blindly do what everyone else does just because 'that's how it's done'.
Hollywood is sick, and we know that. I'm not sure it's worth saving, exactly, but if it was to be restructured and improved, someone would have to seriously look at the nasty backroom practices and figure out how to avoid them. And... I suppose this movie just neatly sidestepped all possibility of that.
'Staring at screens' is all this generation of Hollywood knows. Why wouldn't they fill their movies with it? It's what they spend the majority of their lives doing.

Whether its right or wrong ain't going to change shit, what matters is purely the accusation which is enough to ruin a guy's life without any proof or evidence. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think 2007's "Atonement" that was the premise. Though it was based on a novel and set during WWII.
There are so many abusers that are still defended and/or still have careers and it's so unhelpful, even dangerous to act like women are just automatically believed and supported and that false accusations happen regularly.
Me too has ruined the image of victims of real violation, like me. This has happened to me and I replay the scene to ask what I did wrong that could have prevented it... Seeing such a vile act being used, on BOTH sides, as a political device is disgusting.

It's ironic that the #metoo accusations made by the supposedly innocent "victims" who were "a voice for women" ruined it for the true victims of abuse. Hollywood especially is full of hypocrites and criminals. Anyway, I hope you're doing better!

I love that one of RUclips’s recommended videos is the movie _Bombshell,_ which was pretty much 2019’s version of _She Said._ It was an equally self-congratulatory propaganda piece about the “stunning and brave” women who exposed Roger Ailes’ alleged sexual harassment when he ran Fox News - never mind that Margot Robbie’s and Kate McKinnon’s characters are completely fictional and were clearly written by people who have no idea what American conservatives are actually like. Thankfully, it didn’t do much better than _She Said_ did, and it’s pretty obscure now despite featuring some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Now that I know about it, I’m still not going to watch it.
This entire film looks like its been made from stock footage. If my headphones were off I’d be questioning where the film clips are.
I was a PA on commercial film shoots in NYC in the late 90’s- early 2000’s. It was literally the bottom rung of showbiz. This was shooting Neutrogena ads things like that not even film business, just a lot of crew did both. It was common knowledge Harvey Weinstein still had a casting couch. If I knew everyone in the business and film business press knew, for decades. Now the NYT gets to be the good guys? Yeah, no.
The real villains are the women who sought out Harvey and ****ed and *****ed him to jumpstart their careers past women who didn’t play the game and now seemingly never met the guy. They knew the score and played the game.
Now they’re playing game #2 which is pretending they never played game #1, and gaining again.
The best thing about this movie is that I didn’t waste any of my time watching it.
My absolute favorite part of the presentation in this video was the term “a rusty, razor wire, dildo“! I was taking a sip of my coffee when you said that, and laughed so hard I nearly choked. Bravo! Acerbic wit at its finest.
The #metoo and the #believeallwomen movements were an attempt by women to legitimize both lynch mob behavior and to legitimize women being unreasonably vindictive and dishonest to take revenge against men for whatever reasons they might wish to do so, however trivial, however imaginary, however selfish and self-centered.
Note that the 2-10% that are “false allegations” would be better described as “allegations that can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be false.” “Anonymous accusations” as well as unprovable but false “he said, she said” situations aren’t included.
I know what you’re trying to say, but it’s always worth reminding ourselves that you can’t prove the existence of a negative (i.e., definitionally, a negative does not exist). You can only prove the positive existence of something-in the Western legal system, the existence of guilt. This is why judges/juries hand down a decision of “guilty” or “not guilty,” never “innocent”-you can’t be proven innocent and why the suspect must be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
It’s precisely because bad-faith actors confuse or purposefully misuse these terms that legal justice has been superseded by social justice, so it’s worth being precise... even if it means I’m being pedantic
@@the_absurd_hero You can prove something did not happen in some cases. Either by having an unimpeachable alibi showing you weren't present, or having a conversation recorded like in the Depp/Heard trial clips in the video. The "2-10% fake accusations" number comes from situations like that, and some where the accuser is dumb enough to brag on social media or to more honest friends that she is lying.
And only 2-8% were proven to be true, with the remainder not being looked at in detail, so that implies at least half of all rape allegations reported to the the cops were false. Obviously, if you include all the 'unreported rapes' invented by feminists to exaggerate the numbers, then it's more like 99.9% being bogus.
It is incredibly difficult not to enjoy this channel. This guy is a treasure. I have decided to popularize the channel. Thank you for work, Sir.
