My social studies teacher wanted us to watch this and fill out a worksheet about it! Super helpful video and made me understand the war so much easier! :) Great job Mrs. H!
Thank you so much for the video. I often find myself struggle to understand the wars as an asian but the problem has been just solved. This is exactly what I needed for my final exam.
Thank you SO much, Ms. H, for your wonderful videos! I use them all in my 8th grade US History classes and we covered the French and Indian War today:) You are an AWESOME teacher and video personality:) I only wish you had MORE vids!
My son (in 2nd grade) can't manage to bring his school book home. Ms. H for the win! Very concise and easy to follow with great graphics. We watched this several times and enjoyed it.
This is one of the best videos I have ever shown a class. As a Social Studies teacher, I have previewed MANY RUclips vidoes and this one truly stands out. Thank you for your hard work!
I am tutoring US History for homeschool students, and I send videos home as supplemental work. I have watched several videos on this topic...this has been the best video. Good job! I am subscribing to this channel.
Learned a lot more ponters about this time in history. My home town is Deerfield, Mass near the CT River and Sunderland. The Indian Chief King Phillip and warriors attacked colonists in the area and some were taken up into Canada areas. A recent edition of Historic Deerfield in 2023 had many very good articles on our local and regional history. Including the French and Indian War. Thank you for your presentation and visual support. I really enjoyed and listened closely.
Nice lesson Ms, but where are the French victories like... Oswego, snowshoes, Fort Carillon, Fort William Henry, Montmorency falls, and Sainte-Foy ???? Regards from France !
There is a need to do a little more research on the Battle at Quebec. The French did not "soon after the battle began, surrender to the British." Although the British won the engagement on the field, the French withdrew, back into the fortified city. Skirmishes ensued and the British continued their siege. The French finally surrender the city on September 18; five days after the Battle on the Plains of Abraham. Even with the fall of Quebec City, New France was not in the hands of the British. The French still had a major army, headquartered at Montreal. Montreal capitulated on September 8, 1760; almost a year after the fall of Quebec City.
This was very helpful, thank you very much.. When I hear French and Indian war, I always imagined native Americans and the French fighting but that wasn't the case when I researched.. I always find out it was actually the BRITISH AND THE FRENCH fighting not the native Americans..
Part of the Seven Years War...first world war of the 18th century. The American Revolution was part of a second world war.The British were victorious in parts of the world, except in North America.
Nice Work! Loved it. Very Digestible format. Also interesting as I'm doing Family history, February 22, !698 My 7x Great Grandfather was killed when ambushed by Indians in Haverhill, Ma.

sage bell it’s that a war takes money, so they taxed the colonists. They didn’t like that since they didn’t want the war, they taxed their tea, and that was the start of the American Revolution, and thus america was made.
@Anjolie Tecpoyotl Lopez they asked for the major affect of the french and indian war the major long lasting affect was the taxation which led to the revolution
I teach a college freshmen class online. I usually record my lectures, but for this topic I think I will use this video to introduce students t the topic before they do source analysis. It is very clear and of good quality. Thanks for sharing.
Wow this is so well done. Both historically speaking and technically speaking. Although I see it does still perpetuate the myth that Braddock marched blindly into an ambush. That has been proven false time and again. Braddock wasn't stupid, and the French missed their chance. The battle was a disaster for the British, but it began because the two armies collided in the woods, neither one really expecting the other to be there
The "Stuffy British Tactics vs. Rough 'n Ready Guerilla Warfare" idea has also been debated, with some historians suspecting that Braddock actually UNDER-played the stiff uniformity of his soldiers (which might have easily overwhelmed his outnumbered opponent). It's an ongoing debate, though, and I agree that this video was super overall.
the tanaghrisson or the half king wanted revenge on jumonville or the French in general who was in the French camp at the time. He said Thou art not dead yet ,my father and hacked him with a tomahawk I think they should definitely make a movie on this
Britain didn't have many Natives allied, hence why it was the French AND Indians wars. Only one native's group allied to the brits. Really good vidéo overall.
Britain was not really an empire, it was a club of rich bankers and merchants organized in companies till mid XIX century when at last British India was governed by the State and not by a group of merchants. When the Spanish Empire divided itself around 1820s-1830s then Britain was the main empire in the world (with the Russian) after 300 years of spanish dominance. By the way, more than 60% of USA was Spain and the help of the spanish were as important or even more as the french in the War of Independence. Thanks for your video.

What about the Ohio Company and Robert Dinwiddie's real estate aspirations/investments with George Washington's older brothers?.. Seems relevant.
