Thierry Henry was so underatted back then, I can't belive that he never win at least one ballon d'or, especially in 2003, from another Point of view, he was a prodogy, 2003-2006, he was almost unstoppable.

Thierry Henry had an extraordinary self-confidence.... Look at his first goal one of these specialties strikes cross with the right foot he knows that it will goal before shooting. His second goal is determination, and his free kick is art. A real terror for the defenders this Thierry Henry.

What an Arsenal, i remember that team with seaman, campbell, cole, lunjberg, pires, vieira, Henry and of course the great iceman Dennis Bergkamp the best number 10 in Arsenal's history.

I think even as a footballing fan the fact that the Arsenal team of 1999 to 2004 never won a champions league is a great tragedy. So much talent, flair, skill, technique, speed, size, power, strength
That bit of play by Gilberto Silva for the first goal was quality. Real top draw player him, proper done the dirty work almost unnoticed.
One of my all time favourite players, he made arsenal tick back then.

Chelsea fan here since 1995. Thierry Henry is easily the greatest ever Premier League player who should have a minimum of 2 Ballon d'Or awards. There is no question he was the best player on the planet for at least 2 years. I've seen Chelsea face C.Ronaldo and Messi, but I never had that fear which Henry gave me everytime we played Arsenal.
I remember this match vividly. My mate in school was dreading it all week . I told him to relax , Roma were the tottenham of Italy but all he kept saying was "totti " .. told him wait til tonight . We smashed them comfortably. Great memory for a 12 y.o.

Most underrated striker to ever play this game. He had it all, strength, speed, instincts, dribbling, and courage. People say they’d take R9 as a striker in their fantasy team , but I take Henry any day of the week. The man was lethal and carried an average arsenal team when the core of the team left. Legend.
I love Henry as an Arsenal fan, but R9 was a freak of nature. Henry crafted his game based on R9. Dropping deep, drifting to the left/right. R9 could've been the best player of all time.
i wouldn't say most underrated, i think if you took a poll he would come out on top as the best PL player ever lol, and yeah I agree with the guy above. Henry was fantastic but Ronaldo at 20 years old was pretty much as good as prime Henry. If R9 didn't suffer injuries I think he would be consensus top three right now. He is one of the only strikers I have ever seen that was faster than Henry, he had more power, he was better with the ball, better in the air, better finisher, better big game player. Henry had better passing ability.
@@safe3220 I agree with some of what you said, but R9 at 20 was not as good as prime Henry. This is exactly what I’m talking about when I say he is underrated. Ronaldo was a phenomenon, but I look at longevity, and taking care of your body is a big part of a successful career. It’s not a coincidence that A LOT of top Brazilian players peek early and never recover that form they once had. Kaka, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Pato, Adriano just to name a few.
@@Acjjr123 in 96/97 when Ronaldo was about 20 he had 59 goal contributions in 49 games. Henry in his prime season had 55 in 51 games. I am basing this off of what Wenger said Henry's prime was and what I also feel it was. So yeah, like I loosely said he was ''pretty much'' as good. As an entire career I have Henry above R9, but prime to prime (and ronaldos prime was at 20) they were pretty much neck and neck. And I don't think we can blame not taking care of yourself on R9, he just had a reoccurring freak knee injury. Henry didnt have the longest career either. He was no longer even near world class at what? 31? If you actually look at the numbers you can make a case for Ronaldo at 31 being better than Henry at 31, seriously.

Now bare in mind Ronaldo had far less service, far less games and was facing the hardest defences in the world.

Amidst the negative comments of Emery out, can we just take a moment to admire the brilliance on show here? This is one of my favourite Henry hatricks, especially the first goal..he isolates himself on the far left flank, the ball to find him has to be inch perfect in order to evade the defender...the anticipation of it beating the defender and then the touch with the outside of the foot, followed by the trademark finish...I can watch this over and over again...
