Old school taekwondo would draw much bigger public interest than today's foot fencing and point scoring games.

      I feel old.
When I was a teenager, *TKD* was a fighting art and there were only two genders...

I am still an old school style fighter in the USA. I have never seen and done some of the drills after 25:00 in this video. Strongly recommend watching till the end. There were so good training sources even to the current sparring style fighters. Thank you so much for posting.

At approximately 8 years of age I had the greatest opportunity of being taught this most graceful form of traditional powerhouse tae-kwon-do[pronounced](teh-ku-wun-dough)(not tai-kwon-dough). To learn fluidity in the mind, body, and soul is seldom taught in today's quick and fast Olympic style taekwondo. To learn the backward and forward movements of the body. Side to side,, up and down, diagnol left diagnol right.. One must learn to control the body. To learn the body you must master the mind. To master the mind, you must take hold of your soul. To be able to perform such movement takes a humbleness unbeknownst to most who practice THE martial ART. Respect of the practice. Respect of the culture. Respect of the mind, body ,and soul. All worlds problems cease to exist in the dojang. To be humble you must set aside your worldly desires and for however long your class, dedicate yourself(mind, body, and soul. To the art) To be blessed with the ability to understand these concepts is the fundamental to be able to master this art. I miss the feeling. I miss the energy. I hope we never lose this art. But as I see. In today's art, it is almost lost. We must never forget. Where we come from. For this is the basis of a warriors spirit and code. Just because you have the ability. Doesn't mean you should use it. For everyone training in this video is not learning to use. They are learning to learn. To humble yourself to this level is difficult. And unknown to today's world of martial arts.

The routine reminds me of my training days, but this one was way more advanced and intense (ofc they are all black belts!). I will still love Taekwondo.

Classes can only effectively be short once the students know how to do everything. Then it is lightening speed, but such a short class with low level students would be pointless or a waste of time as it i not long enough to adsorb techniques.

TKD is the art, in my view, if what you want is a great amount of stress placed on the kicking aspects. If you're into the spinning, high kicking aspects of an art I'd say TKD is your best choice to get that.

spend almost half the class stroking each others egos with all the bowing then warming up. A simple bow is quite enough for "respect" and warm up before class starts. Always have seen these two things "fluff" that allows for less real training. Not just TKD but any style that does this. A lot of people disagree and that's ok not trying to bash or even change minds just my view. Took a total of about 16 min. of a 42 min video bowing, warming up and cooling down.

If you can't master the fundamentals you won't improve as a martial artist and instead sit there in your own egotistical house that would be blown down by the first guy to open up his mind to the beginners mindset.
Bowing is done alot throughout taekwondo schools everywhere. I've trained several styles and taekwondo is the only one who bows that many times lmao, karate is once in the beginning of class, once at end. Same with Tang Soo do, and hapkido from my experience
