    I am part of the group of guitarists that has been replacing this lick with “random pentatonic nonsense” in order to complete the solo

      Based on the live versions, I believe Slash is part of the "random pentatonic nonsense with added notes that may or may not be in this key" group.

      @@samharris6046 Hi... Slash hardly ever played this lick onstage during the 86-93 era. BUT... on many recent occasions he played it verbatim. For one example you should go see the version with Fergie (10 years ago) :ruclips.net/video/zzdYxgSZztY/видео.html

    I've always had trouble playing this part when playing in bands! Thank you for correctly explaining how it goes! The tabs were always wrong or didn't sound right when I learned it

    I love the fact that you point out that most lessons shown the first slide as a bend (the F to G) but it’s a slide. Bending never sounded right and doesn’t leave you as easily positioned for the next min-riff. Grazie mille! Sei un santo!

    Awesome, like many others this is the song that got me into guitar playing about 15 years ago and I’ve never been bothered to learn it properly 😆 got no excuse now! Great video 👏

    Yes thanks Danilo, All these years I have been playing that bit wrong. I actually knew it felt wrong but that is what the original tablature said. I now have to learn it again.

    Absolutely loved this video lesson. I was guilty of playing that incorrectly too and I think it was masked with all of the wah wah juice 🤣🤣 just subbed to your channel. Keep on rocking 🤟🏻

    This was an excellent lesson...this one is a bit of a tongue twister towards the end. I played it like 200 times in a row to really drill it home. I have always wanted to learn this the correct way, this is definitely the best way I've seen.
    Definitely use your pinky to lead the slides. It's also good practice for dexterity between pinky and ring.

    I highly doubt even Slash ever played it the same way twice.. including the times he wasn't too fucked up to play at all.

    Nice one great video. I can only play it at a very slow speed but I can now play it better slow than I ever could fast and it's already improved my playing. It's going to be a bitch trying play it with the wah wah pedal though. It's a great lick. Any chance you could do a video of the second similar lick that he does in the solo, thanks

    Just one comment to nail it down absolutely: do you know this Eb note that you emphasize reducing the speed of the audio? Play it on the B string instead of playing on the E string. It matches the perfect fingering 😃

    the 8 11
    12 12 gives me so much trouble. I can play everything else cleanly, but this always comes out sounding staccato like :(

    If anyone Wants to learn anything correctly I advise record the part on a repeated loop mode and play it along otherwise you won’t get it correctly cos nobody really have the patience and will power to learn it to obsession

    That guitar just needs 1 more thing and then for me it would be perfect gigging guitar: alternate tunings included in the presets...Line 6 as well as BOSS/ Roland has had this achieved for years...but do not have chordless achieved...both Roland and Line 6 have come close with the VG guitars from Roland/ Fender, and the Variax JTV models, but none have programmable amp modeling included in these guitars...but neither of these guitars do the programable preset switching that the Moer guitar that you are showing...the variax and the VG guitars also have good acoustic sounds in them...not sure if the Moer does because it isn't featured in this video...or if it is, I missed it...thanks for the video...getting closer...

    Ermm… not really. But kudos for trying and spending time with this. the first 3 notes, bend the 3rd note to get that pitch and with Wah.

    This lick is in harmonic minor scale.
    You can fake this lick like a pro pretty easily, you just need to use this scale. Everybody fails by using pentatonic scale.

    I’m kind of skeptical of any solid body guitar changing the sound of any guitar at all, and tired of people making a big deal about it. Call me a snob, but I feel like all those guitars just look like Stratocasters. The only difference often seems to be the pickups and strings.

    What is the aim to learn à solo note by note? I never did understand that. Slash is slash. Clapton is clapton. They never copied themselves other solos. It’s completely stupid

      It’s one thing to change someone else’s whole song to make it yours. It’s another thing to play it the same except for the solo. Most who play the whole song the same except the solo do it because they can’t play the solo. Learning it right teaches you something.

    At the end of the first part of the solo on the A minor when he turns the wah pedal on I do Yngwie Malmsteen diminished sweeps up the fretboard, it fits it well and makes it sound darker
