I love your paintings. I watch them over and over again. I save them to watch when I get ready to paint them. I am a beginner/ intermediate in a watercolor class.
I’m glad to have found your channel because you do such a great job of explaining things without making it sound overly complicated. Can’t wait to watch more.
I am so impressed with this tutorial! You are a very generous woman to share your talent and developed skill with us as a benefit to our skill building. Thank you so much. I'm so appreciative.
Hi Lois, what a coincidence l sould find this today. Yesterday l was sat at our beach watching waves crashing on the rocks and taking umpteen photos. I have been thinking how l could best portray them in a painting. Thank you for this great tutorial which has inspired me. I love loose painting. Thanks again Alioban x
This is a spectacular painting, Lois! The effects you achieved are stunning! Thank you so much!! Added comment: I painted this today and it's one of the best I've ever done. Your explanations and showing how you mix your paint are so helpful. Thanks again!
I absolutely love this. My favorite demo. Crashing waves are so hard to capture. You make it so easy. I absolutely love your simple color combo! I also enjoy working with negative space. Excellent!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Louis. Watching this video was as exciting as a thriller.I hadn't seen any of your videos before, so I was very excited to see how you would handle the wave and the water splashes. You did a masterful job of painting it off the cuff. Hats off to you.
Wow, I enjoyed a success today. Your mastery of water control, colour, soft and hard edge control AND last but not least a great ability to describe the process both in words and practise (a great teacher) made this so good. Thank you.
This turned out so beautiful, Lois! Great brush techniques and effects with water and diffusion of colour, texture and the "scrubbing". The rock are amazing! I love it! :D
Loved this one Lois. Super demo with lots of inspiration. Limited colour palette is great to use. I'm lucky to live by the sea, and yesterday l took a photo so like this painting. I want to paint the image in my photo, and use the tips you have given in your demo. I usually use oil or acrylic, but l want to try watercolour for a change. Many thanks Alioban xx
Just love your style and also your great demos of using all the popular brushes, such a help. Yours are the one lessons I try out asap, and I learn so much from each one and, uniquely, I’m always pleased with the results. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful talents in painting and teaching. 🥰
I loved this! I feel more confident about painting waves! I used some white gouache at the end to add some extra splash and contrast in some areas. It worked well.
As a frustrated “ water” watercolor painter this was brilliant! Wow you made it look like anyone could do that! Hmmmm, doubt that. So ....I subscribed! Thank you for sharing you work. ClaudiaSJI
I only use brown type yellows (raw sienna or sometines yellow ochre) in this sort of painting, unless you make an effort and really scrub the paint together, they don't readily make green

Esplendido!
Interesting photo. What size of paper did you use?
Details are in the description below the video 😊
It looks amazing! What size of paper is this?
Thanks, info on size etc is in the description below the video
ОЧЕНЬ КРАСИВО👋👋💐РИСУЮ С ВАМИ💓🖌️💓🎨💓🖼️💓👍👍👍СПАСИБО!!! 🥀
Thanks so much 😊💐
Lovely result Lois, mine would have started with a green effect on sky and water. How did you get your blues and yellow to stay separate?
I think yellow ochre and raw sienna are more brown than true yellows so don’t make green when applied as I did
Than you Lois I am going to practice with those same colours later. I love how rich indigo looks too.
Great painting. The only thing missing - sound effects!
Thank you!
Fab-u-lous!!!
Im always so mystified, how do you not get green by mixing indigo with various yellows? This is so lovely!
I only use brown type yellows (raw sienna or sometines yellow ochre) in this sort of painting, unless you make an effort and really scrub the paint together, they don't readily make green
I used masking tape to hold the paper down and when taking it off, it took off the paper with it and ruined my painting. BTW...I love this video.
John hoar said"sometimes you have to take your courage in your hands, splash away and hope for the best"
So true!
👍 👍 👍 🌷
😊💐💐💐
I often paint small. I worry about working quickly enough to keep the paper wet as needed.
I find it easier to work large, and with cotton paper it should stay wet for long enough if you work quickly and loosely!
@@LoisDavidsonArt Thanks for the tip!
Podrían poner subtitulos en español?
Lovely painting. Thanks for the video. (I wrote you on Insta concerning being a Patreon :-)
An inspiring demo! Thank you!
