In this video I go over what a safe jump is, why it works, and give some setups for you to use! His juri guide was something I'd expect a silver player to put together.

Some of these are a bit too big brain for me, especially once you got to the FSE engine but just understanding the fundamentals and having at least a couple of starter set ups like punish counter st.HK or from a H.fuha is enough for now. Fantastic video.

Great video! Thanks for such an in depth breakdown of these setups, super clean and also entertaining! Any tips on how to time your jump HK so that it hits low enough to be a safe jump? I can get it sometimes but I feel like maybe 2/3 times I hit too high or too low. (currently plateauing pretty hard in diamond 2 and want to find a consistent way to work these setups into my gameplay)
This was an awesome video, so much useful situations and information, thank you! Too bad if they parry you don't have much other than grabbing them. I just haven't thought about what happens if they perfect parry.

Try the first safe jump. If you hit a punish counter hk, and jump in immediately with a hk… just a small amount of practice I know you can do it.
The 2nd one the same thing. Practice that combo. I’m sure you’ll find value!
@@BigNastyKail I'll definitely give those two a go, I keep defaulting to lvl 1 or tensenrin in the HK punish situation. This would be far more useful I think, I eat od dps on my Oki attempts so much at my current lvl. 😂
I'm feeling slightly lost by the explanation of "What is a Safe Jump?" in the first minute. I'm assuming what happens is: after the move comes out, you hit the ground, and the act of doing so immediately cancels out the aerial move's recovery, so there is zero time between the active frames and the blocking frames. Do I have that right?
Almost. I recover from the jumping attack BRFORE they can act. That’s because I hit the move so low to the ground. If I hit the move higher there still are frames I have to go through to reach the ground. Since I’m hitting low, I’m attacking with MINIMAL recovery (still not 0).
But you definitely have the idea. The opponents move cannot start up before my recovery ends.
A good way to explain it (and how tight the window is)… if I was +41 frames, characters with 5 frame specials may beat it (guile’s light flash kick for example). But since I’m +42, that one frame is enough to cover all reversals. That’s +42 frames is very specific for Juri.
How do you set juri to have max fuha and FSE in training mode?
Pause > character specific settings > feng shui engine infinite.
Does 41F work? I heard 41F only doesn't work against 5F reversal, but I don't think there is 5F reversal in SF6.
It can work but in the corner don't jump forward or they can mess you up by walking forward

Is the 42 frames consistent across all characters, or Juri specific?
I believe all characters. It’s not the absolute amount but for hitting your opponent and still being safe, 42. That’s what I used when practicing Jamie.
Generally 42f is pretty universal but depending on who you play you might have unique options able to you
@@BigNastyKailit's because most characters have a 38 frame jump. Notable exception: Chun Li has a 42 frame jump.
@@BigNastyKailI guess Lily and Dhalsim have different jumps too. And Zangief has an extra startup frame so his is 5+38 instead of 4+38 like almost everybody else.
If them don’t reversal and throw instead, am I still safe or do I have to guess between reversal and throw ?
Nope they MUST block. I think lily is the only exception as for some reason you can’t save jump. Gotta test tho.

I'm a mere Gold 4 player and now realize I've been doing safe jumps the whole time, I only jump in if somebody is knocked down, feels too dangerous to jump during neutral except once in a blue moon to do a dive kick
That's not what a safe jump is my dude
If you jump after someone is knocked down, they can still wakeup with a reversal. A safejump is when you create a situation where if they do reversal, you'll recover in time to block, and if they don't, your jump-in will hit.
What you seem to be doing aren't safejumps.

It’s not thing they can nerf since it’s just math. All characters can use this. It’s a fighting game tactic.

How to beat safe jump mix up (safe jump and empty jump low). Delay a 4f move. Set the dummy to block standing and do a 2f delayed 4f move. It will block your safe jump and score a counter when u try to go empty to low or empty to grab. Credit goes to : kipill0n
