They'd kill the animals in the river and make boots out of them. I used to work down there as a caterer for some drilling companies who operated rigs in the area. It was nothing to see a pack of them walking up to location, trying to get close to the rigs to get water and steal something. It's against the law to carry a firearm on location, even if it's in your own vehicle. It's a good thing some of those drillers and rig hands kinda looked the other way regarding that law. Many of the illegals passing through there were armed, dangerous, and determined.
