I found your RUclips channel! I would like to say “THANK YOU ! “ Well done video and audio. I live in San Juan Bautista, local guy. I appreciate your input and explanation of our surrounding areas. Thank you, Phil
I lived in the canyon to the left of the gate at the end of the road from 1984-1987. Lots of trouble came from that direction, and my sign in those days said, "Hunters will be hunted". The local sheriff made me take it down. Rough country, great people in that area. From Google earth, it looks like someone is once again living up there.
Thanks for commenting! There are 2 signs on the gate right now, one polite and one with F-bombs. I’m sure there are good reasons for the sign. We’ve owned property on the continuation of that road since ‘97, but many (understandably) locked gates block access from the other end. The W15 is a real curiosity!
@@fourwheeltravel My legal access in those days was from Jolon Road, off Argyle Road, if you know that area. It was 7+ miles of dirt that way to Hall Canyon where I was staying. W15 was the back way out, better access to Lockwood, the other way was better access to Fort Hunter Liggett where I worked in those days.
@@billclancy4913very familiar with the area. W15 would be a heck of a commute, hairy in places. Passage through there from Argyle is not really possible now without passing too many locked gates, unfortunately.
Looking at all those tracks across the way are not on Private Property. They are on the Williams Hill Off Highway Vehicle Area open to the public including 16 Dry Campsites. You can get to the Campsites and OHV areas via Lockwood San Ardo Road. Roads are much like the 3 mile one your on.
On W15, today 01/27/2024. Bushes have overgrown! Pinstripes for sure in a PW. A lot of washout ruts for entertainment. Diffidently different from when you were here.
Looking EAST to 101 and Salinas Valley. Modern Campsites concrete pad, covered for shade and fire rings. One modern BLM matianed dry bathrooms. Camping on your route is accepted but not recommend because of Fire Hazards.
Did I say West? Yeah the 101 is East. I covered the Williams Hill National Recreation Area with the BLM campsite in an earlier video: ruclips.net/video/GWIrmqC9j2E/видео.html The route in *this* video is adjacent to, but not connected in any way to the above BLM campsite, other than by traveling several miles of paved road either via the US101 and Paris Valley Rd to the East or via Lockwood in the West (that’d be the shorter route I think) to get from one to the other, something I mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching and for your comment, I’ll have to rewatch the video to look out for an East/West error!

Thanks for watching & commenting. Coming from a local to the area, your comment means a lot! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I go out there all the time and never seen this trail thanks
It’s definitely off the beaten track. :)

Good both ways! Like this local ride.

The route in this video is boxed in by private land. I know this because our property is among them! Many private roads in the area.

Where did you get your swing out tire carrier? I have the identical truck with 35" Yokohama Geolanders
Thanks for commenting - the tire swing is this one from RIGd: ruclips.net/video/h5aKs8Yyk-s/видео.html

Haha - yep looking EAST. Ah well, IDK why I didn’t catch that one. Thx for the correction. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
