@Foolish Demon it is an Air Raid offense mixed with a zone run scheme that he can afford to rely on because Jalen Hurts is so slow processing the field and OU has a deep backfield. Just because you can run the ball effectively and you do it more often because your QB limits you offensively doesnt mean its not an Air Raid offense.
Andrew Bokal in today’s world you’re right. Mike leach may run the true “air raid” philosophy at its original core, but it’s obviously evolved from that as the coaching tree grows and people want to do it differently. Still is the “air raid” however, unless your going by leach’s definition, so your only “technically” wrong I guess
I’ve been so disappointed in Eason this year. Chris Petersen is the most underrated coach in college football and is an offensive genius with a play in mind for every scenario. Jacob Eason is by far the most physically gifted QB to ever play for Petersen. I was so excited to see Eason develop NFL traits in his year off and for Petersen to expand his playbook a bit more since he’s not limited by Jake Browning’s arm anymore. Eason has been good, but he hasn’t taken the step he’s needed to. He should absolutely stay for his senior year, but those work ethic concerns scare me as well
Sean Joseph Hyland I do agree that it’s not all his fault. That youth and inexperience at the other positions is really showing. That’s another reason I would like to see him come back next year. I think Washington will be better as a whole next season.
Elijah I really wish he wouldn’t have, but maybe he’s betting on the fact he will wind up on a better team that is able to develop him now. He has a ton of physical gifts that few other QBs possess. All it takes is one team to fall in love with his talent. Now the main question is, will teams like the Colts prefer Eason or a guy like Jordan Love (who has a similar profile as a great athlete but questionable decision making and a disappointing 2019 season). My Steelers also become a possibility depending on Big Ben’s recovery progress, but I’d rather focus on possibly replacing Javon Hargrove or Bud Dupree if one of them walks, and then trading up in 2021 for one of the top 3 QBs

As a Washington fan its super frustrating. I was expecting an improvement from Jake Browning and I got it talent wise but in the other facets of the game got a down grade. I kind of want him to go to the NFL just to get rid of him and try our luck with someone else who really wants to prove themselves as a quarterback.
I think huard will be great. Eason seems like he has all the talent but I don’t know if he has a great work ethic or smarts, kind of opposite of Jake browning. I don’t blame Eason entirely given our receivers have been atrocious this year get little separation and dropping balls.
That's not remotely realistic. How does a guy that relies on talent supposed to not use that talent and immediately he a beast. All he knows is arm. That's all coaches have taught him. If a coach rather, simplifies the play book, and processes his learning with his talent, he'll get more confident. But you can't throw a complex play book at a guy who's use to just throwing and say okay now GO. no. It takes 2 seasons of ACTUALLY playing and building a relationship with the Receivers
I see alot of similarities between Burrow and Tom Brady. He has that it factor about him. He is a very accurate passer and he has shown the ability to make good reads and not make many dumb mistakes. I think he will get the job done Saturday against Alabama. I think he will be a franchise QB in the NFL. I wish he would fall to the Patriots.
Wish he would fall to the saints but I just hope the bengals don’t get him. They would never trade him and ruin him. He would still be amazing but wouldn’t be the multi Super Bowl qb I think he could be
I don't follow college football but as a Pats fan keeping an eye out for upcoming QBs, this Burrow kid looked the most Brady-esque to me. I doubt we'll be able to get him but here's to hope. By the way, Stidham, sorry but I think his ceiling is being a solid backup.
Foolish Demon and that 3rd and 17 vs Texas was Brady-esque as well. Im an LSU fan but also a Patriots fan because Kevin Faulk is my 1st cousin. Im telling you whoever gets their hand on Burrow will be very lucky, unless of course he goes to a trash organization with poor leadership. The kid is potentially a future HOFer.
Burrow is the best QB in this possible draft class. Wish the Titans would have a shot at getting him. He's a leader & has a great arm. Also isn't afraid of taking hits & running when needed.
Fromm could be a 1st rounder in the 2021 draft if most of the premium QBs go in 2020, like we're expecting. So QB desperate team will grab him earlier than his grade.
Time don't matter talent. Lamar Jackson was NFL talent. The release was pretty as a freshman. He looked like NFL talent. Time made him more refined, but he looked good. Lawrence looks like NFL talent. Not just tossing to open wide open superior athletes and taking credit. Ask Pittsburgh about Rudolph. Hirtz might not develop all of the skills, but in pads just standing there he looks like an NFL talent. From , not so much.
@@mandelharvey3429 Fromm is a top 5 quarterback in accuracy to receivers who are in tight coverage this season... PFF keeps pretty fun stats on this topic :) But I totally agree Fromm looks much more like Tom Brady than any first round NFL talent.
@@augustuscaeser5895 lies, damn lies and statistics. What does your eye tell you? Tim Tebow made a team with a bad line and bad receivers work. Most NFL teams won't admit they need Tim Tebow to match their team. Why you get these "great passers" losing. The Bengals shouldn't waste their pick for a concussed Joe Burroughs. Draft his linemen. His line makes most quarterbacks look good.
Next year's QB class is scary with Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields likely to come out. If I was Fromm, I would come out NOW. Things won't get better for him next year in terms of his NFL prospects.
@@catchemcarlisle5655 I think that's the problem Lawrence faces. He's been over-hyped ever since that Alabama game. He's a top prospect but he is NOT a lock to be #1. He still has to perform on the field to make that happen.
I think this class is way more stocked than next years. Yes you got Lawrence and fields but in this class you have Tua, Borrow, Herbet,Love, Easson and Hurts.
You should do a video comparing Joe Burrow last year to this year? I hear everyone talk about the strides he's made but I haven't seen anyone break it down.
Love your show brother. At such a young age it’s inspiring to see you do so well and be so well spoken. A tip I’ve thought of and you might have already done it is maybe try to reach out to some of the best quarterback scouts, coaches, and trainers in the industry and just pick their brain about what they look for and both tangible and intangible and then add that to your arsenal of what you look for and can speak on. Good luck brother I wish you nothing but the best and keep up the great work!
QB Coach, OC, and LSU play-caller Steve Ensminger has a lot to do with Joe Burrow's success and more than Joe Brady. Brady is responsible for the vast improvement of the wide receiver room, but Steve Ensminger is responsible for the vast improvement in the QB play. In any event, Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady make an incredible team together.
Can you please continue these breakdowns? Would really like to see you talk about Kellen Mond of Texas A&M. IMO, at this rate he won’t leave for the draft, but would like to know if there’s more to the tape than the stats show. He’s not had great play from his o line and injuries have suffocated the run game at times, making him the most blitz 3rd down qb.
Christopher Welch I believe mond is a little bit of a better jarret guaruntano. Both are highly rated and tough as well as huge arms but neither have really wowed anyone that watched there tape
As a Husky Fan, I appreciate the fact that Jacob Eason came into the Huskies. But so far he isn't showing he is a winner, he reminds me of the second coming of Jeff George. Physically gifted but nowhere near the results you would expect. He has talent but does not have the skill or expertise to leverage it. And he doesn't have the internal fire to keep/maintain either of those. Any NFL team picking him needs to realize his upside is 'average NFL QB'. I don't think he has the characteristics to be more than that.
@@Numbers21589302 I still wondered how he won a superbowl, basically got hot during the playoff like the Eagle backup QB. Plus Raven D is always good and they got a good head coach.
To be fair, his receivers did not help him out all year and I think some coaching decisions were detrimental to the team, I didn't think he was bad... I hope it's not true that teammates question his work ethic, that sucks if it's true and he won't make it anywhere if that isn't fixed.
This is Tammy's husband. You are giving Joe Brady props. He brought the offensive scheme that Joe Burrow has run since high school. Look up his high school highlights here on RUclips. You will see the same plays that he is running now he ran back in high school. But still glad to hear the kind words about his work ethic.
Yes for the love of God Georgia fans need to see this. I am a Ga fan and i can see exactly what you're saying about Fromm and have been saying it since 2017. He will be back up at best. probably will be out of the NFL in a few years just like Murray. tired of hearing Fromm from Georgia fans. You'd think he was the next coming of Jesus Christ.
@@xJohnny_Ax What about him? if you asking if i would choose Eason or Fromm in the NFL then probably Eason. The reason is because he has the talent he just needs to put more work in at SOS said. Like he said i think the only reason Georgia picked Fromm over Eason is cause Fromm doesn't make that many stupid decisions like eason does. just my opinion though
@@xJohnny_Ax Eason reminds me of Mettenberger. The former LSU QB that transferred from Georgia after losing the QB battle to Aaron Murray. Strong arm but that's about it. He's got a much higher ceiling than Fromm but I don't think he will be any good. It's Justin Fields I'm curious about. I didn't get to see enough of him while he was at Georgia and now he's a Heisman candidate. Sucks lol.
Die Hard Georgia Fan, with that said you’re accurate on Jake Fromm and I don’t think his ceiling is very high. I think his ceiling is Chase Daniel and because of that I don’t think he makes it higher than the 3rd round.
Alot of these QBs can succeed with the right situation, right coaching and system. Burrow is my favorite Qb coming out and I was saying this last yr. With that being said; Eason easily could do the same. You don't know if Eason is just doing what he's told. Ed Orgeron adjusted to his Qb. Eason doesn't have that. Keep in mind,His dad was a Qb so right there with the arm strength he has the advantage. I seen him make throws nobody else makes. I'm not talking about deep balls,I mean putting balls where only his guy can get it. It's too much on his plate. He needs better around him. Right now; what he looks like is how Herbert looked last yr. Now Herbert is allowing the offense to come to him. Eason probably just needs another yr. Last I checked theres no Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley at Washington coaching Eason. Coaching matters.
If Jacob Eason is struggling with a college playbook and has questions about his work ethic now, then it will only grow drastically worse in the NFL. With the NFL CBA cutting down on the amount of practices a team can have, there is a lot less time and 1 on 1 coaching opportunities for Jacob Eason to work on his craft. So, he needs to mature as a player and come back to college.
Please talk about some of the talented but lesser talked about prospects if they choose to declare like Skylar Thompson from Kansas State and Kellen Mond from Texas A&M. Also, Bryce Perkins from Virginia.
Take a look sometime at jon Wassink from Western Michigan. Having his first healthy season as a senior..stats arent phenomenal, but are solid. Athletic, big arm. Campbell trophy finalist. Also do the Stafford film like you said you would lol
Agree about Eason, I had him in my head as one of the first round candidates, always thought he might be better than Fromm even though he transferred, watched Washington games specifically to see him and was a bit underwhelmed as well. Still very talented though. You don’t know for sure that he didn’t prepare though. He may just not be very good at that aspect
In my opinion, I think Jake Fromm is better than people think. He's has a great career with Georgia, great TD:INT ratio, and in games I've seen he's shown potential with his arm. He'll most likely be drafted higher than anyone says. He's better than Easton, love, and possibly Herbert in my opinion. I see him a really late first round pick coming into the second round, like Drew Lock. Behind burrow and tua, Fromm might have the most potential.
Just finished Baylor today... Jake fromm throws third touchdown and it was the easiest catch to be made but yet the receiver dropped it. Including numerous drops by receivers that were perfect throws by Jake fromm... not to mention five of his top offensive Lineman were out for this game numerous players and receivers transfer to the NFL last season I believe he did the best what he could with the tools around him this season . hope he transfers to the NFL because next year could just be worse if he stays at Georgia with receivers dropping catches left right and centre
Jake Fromm needs to be drafted by a great NFL team and sit behind an elite starting quarterback for a couple seasons and develop as a quarterback and work on his footwork and mechanics.
Eason when was at Georgia would just party every night basically think he just likes the spotlight of being the QB without putting in the work of improving and just thinks his arm talent will make up for this
Matthew Smith right. I was thinking Kirk does typical Kirk things and Eason shows his potential with the Vikings but I guess Kirk has turned a corner this year
Zac, very very close. 1st off, you have to talk about Burrow's processing speed if you talk about Burrow. That is his monster trait. When he left Ohio State he was a quality QB. The gains you pointed out are 100% accurate and he flew up the rankings because he's just that perfect. The aspect you didn't harp on that you need to harp on is that the game is very slow through his eyes. He's playing so much faster than the SEC competition and that'll help him translate easy. If Burrow has one issue it's that his arm isn't special. He isn't as comfortable throwing through a compressed zone (Auburn) because he knows the limits of his arm. That's the only concern on him though and it's not a huge concern, just enough of a concern to point out. Fromm, not a 1st? Fromm isn't better than Stidham. He, like Stidham, is also terrible in the face of pressure. Makes those same terrible mistakes and as you said, has a weaker arm. He's just a guy. I thought Washington was going to be a monster in the Pac-12 this year and that Eason vs Browning was going to be the reason that they were a legitimate threat. Lots of things went wrong for them but it's clear that team rotted from the head. That's Eason. Thank you for the work ethic tidbit because I have zero contacts there to get that information. I didn't like him before but hearing that hurts his cause more. I do want to give you a bread crumb trail to follow though. Eason does try to wedge passes in there all too often. Your take on him is completely correct but you are missing the cardinal error that makes him inferior to Josh Allen despite being more accurate. He fails when you make him move. Not only is he bad with his pocket footwork but he's simply not athletic on the field. The vast majority of his ghastly throws are off platform. Why? Well on platform he'll try to wedge a ball in there. He does the same thing off platform. The problem is that off platform his velocity dives the weight of the ball doesn't carry and his accuracy fades. He doesn't seem to have a clue that that is going on. Utah 3q 3:16 sums this up. Pressure off his left, pressure up the middle. Back pedals and tries to throw a liner to the far numbers. There's so much wobble and arc on that ball that the CB steps in front of it with ease (and due to a good jump waits for it) for a pick 6. He doesn't see safeties and will try to wedge balls in, but off platform it gets severely worse. I consider him a dinosaur QB and he might be the most dinosaur of all the dinosaur QBs I've scouted. Great arm, reads fine, has some "pro style" experience. He's accurate when conditions are ideal. Ask him to create and he's more likely to kill you than help you or throw it away. Yes, that's very disappointing because you see him in a clean pocket ripping holes in the secondary and you get excited. Then you see him when push comes to shove and you know this won't work. That's not something QBs typically fix either. He's just bad when the going gets tough. I think he's very similar to Glennon and Osweiler. He'll have some insane games against zone teams who can't rush the passer but I don't see a starter in him and I don't think another year of college was going to help. Whomever takes him is going to be very disappointed with the end result. Lot of impressive throws from a gifted ball thrower, but he's barely a QB despite that elite tool. I had Haskins in the 3rd last year and with the work ethic issue concern raise on Eason I'm debating if I have Eason higher or not. He certainly shouldn't be in the 1st like many have him projected.
I like your take on college QBs going into the draft. I think the NFL overthinks the QB position and try to make them be something they're not (ex. making running QBs passer, trying to make traditional pocket passers more mobile, etc.) These QBs are who they are when they come out of college. They've being playing that way for a while and when they get to the NFL, they want them to be something different and wonder why in the past decade or so, that there have been far more bust QBs in the 1st round in the draft. These QBs are who they are.
Great assessment! As a UGA fan, I have been a little disappointed in Jake Fromm this year. I LOVE the guy! He DOES put in the work...film studies and lots of that. He is a team leader and is VERY competitive. However, all that you said about him is TRUE. He has looked sluggish or flat...or something, this year. Our DEFENSE is what is making us successful this year...we had our 3rd shut-out last night(2nd against an SEC opponent). We haven't had a rushing TD scored against us this year. However, our offense is just mediocre, and it's very frustrating. I think we need a Joe Brady or somebody who can bring us up to par. We have the talent...but there's something amiss.
@@stephencurry4835 This all day! It's laughable that people blame Jake for GA's offensive woe's when the secondary can't seem to catch anything even when he puts it right in their hands.
Good points on Fromm. He is not getting that kind of time to throw in NFL. As well a long time weakness of his is his internal clock knowing when to get rid of the ball.
I don't see him slide or glide around the pocket to avoid pressure like I see top QBs do. He also will not throw to a receiver who's covered unless it's a back shoulder throw. Watch the LSU-Clemson game and Burrow mainly threw to receivers who were tightly covered but he places ball where only the receiver can get it. Maybe this can be learned through more work with talented receivers but I just watch him not even think about throwing to a covered receiver.
@@richardmiller3146 Well open in the NFL is very different than open in college. I hope like heck the guy makes it big. I do think he will hang around the league as a back up a number of years. I do think his work ethic will give a shot to overcome his shortcomings provided he gets the right coaching .
Last year it was Kyler Murray, this year it’s Joe Burrow. The truth for any player period is simple. The system and the player. Do they fit. That’s it. You must utilize the players in the best fashion for them to be successful. That’s why Jacob Eason will go to NE.
Myth: Joe Brady is the reason Joe Burrow became a Heisman winner. Truth, not at all. Joe Brady coached the receivers. He also brought the Saint's offense, but that Saints offense was converted to work in college football by Steve Ensminger with feedback from Joe Burrow. Not to mention that Steve Ensminger was the primary playcaller and also the quarterback coach as well. Everyone saw the massive improvement in Burrow's game and they said, okay it was because of Joe Brady. False, not true.
Fromm isn't an NFL QB. He doesn't have the arm to overcome his mediocre mechanics and he's useless against even a slight pass rush. He's Jimmy Clausen with less physical attributes. Eason is extremely physically gifted, probably has the best arm in college right now and may or may not be an NFL QB. I'm not convinced he has the brain. He's played over a season and a half and hasn't really improved. He's kinda like Jay Cutler or Jeff George. He could probably pass for a million yards in the right system but I think he's a bit of a bitch and will probably never actually lead an NFL team to prolonged success. Burrow is probably an NFL QB. If he had Eason's physical gifts he'd probably be Dan Marino. But he doesn't. He reminds me of Matt Ryan with a slightly better arm. I'll have to see what he does under actual pressure before I'm completely sold on him.
whatsthebigfndeal agreed, I’m a dawg fan for life and am of the 1% that can clearly see fromm is not an nfl guy. Eason has to go to a team like NE or NO. He absolutely needs a coach that will sit him down and tell him you are going to be in the Aaron Rodgers roll. You will sit for a few years and properly develop. I think he needs a Josh Gordon type of situation. Have someone with him nearly 24/7 to help him mature. As it is right now he definitely needs help learning how to be a college quarterback, much less a professional one. He doesn't spend nearly enough time learning or studying. He's more focused on partying (I've partied with him a few times since he transferred up here) and being treated like a king.
@Elijah Brees, Bridgewater, and Hill are free agents the odds are is you're only gonna bring back 2. Stidham and Kessler are not the future of the Pats.
@Elijah still you stated both don't need to develop anyone this year. This is the perfect time to get someone to do so. You sign Bridgewater for 2 or 3 years and draft someone to develop. Same with the Patriots if you're sure that Stidham could be the future you still develop someone behind him to take over just in case. Brady became Brady because he sat behind one of the better QBs of that time who was the face of the franchise. Let someone sit behind and develop even if they become trade bait like Garoppolo.
In terms of Jake Fromm I don’t get you you say he should go back to school to get better but said you don’t think he’s gonna get better from his junior year to his senior year
I unfortunately think Jake Fromm is not an NFL QB. Out of all these QBs the only ones I think that have an NFL future is Tua, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts (Almost forgot him.) and Justin Herbert. I feel Jacob Eason could play in the league but I feel he needs to sit and learn. Same for Fromm if he goes to a program that will let him sit and learn he may get a shot. He did beat out Justin Fields after all, he has some intangibles you cant teach. I dont think he is at the level of Gardner Minshew but with enough study time he may get there.
As an embarrassed fan of the Tampa Bay Succaneers I wouldn't want to see them draft Jake Fromm because he doesn't have near the arm talent that Joe Burrow and Jacob Eason has and in a perfect world I'd love to see the Succaneers trade the entire farm and then some to the Bengals for their #1 pick to select Joe Burrow but that's not going to happen so, I'll settle for Jacob Eason who has just as big of an arm as Joe Burrow has plus he knows how to make those big throws and hit them on target which is something crablegs Winsnone don't know what to do which is evident by his 30 interceptions this past season. So, I'll gladly would love to see the Succaneers draft Jacob Eason and sign phillip rivers for a year or two to serve as the bridge quarterback to Jacob Eason and let crablegs Winsnone walk in free agency that's what I'd love to see happen this offseason and fingers crossed because I hope I'm right 😁😉 #TAMPABAYSUCCANEERS #BUCSJUSTSUCK

But you can't throw a complex play book at a guy who's use to just throwing and say okay now GO.

Cruorem I don’t see it
Wish he would fall to the saints but I just hope the bengals don’t get him.
Nope your wrong Harkins.
Lawrence and Fields are going to be picked ahead of him 2021 and possibly another QB shows out next year.
PFF keeps pretty fun stats on this topic :)

His line makes most quarterbacks look good.
Next year's QB class is scary with Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields likely to come out. If I was Fromm, I would come out NOW. Things won't get better for him next year in terms of his NFL prospects.

First time listener. You are right on about Fromm.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard
Only if you aren’t black. Black is just better
Been waiting for this episode, great job.
Jake Fromm reminds me of Andy Dalton when he was at TCU
This is a perfect comparison
Canelo Alveraz 2nd job is as the bengals QB
Andy was better
Nice. But Dalton has a good arm
Yeah, his upside kind of strikes me as joe flacco basically.
Totally agree about Eason. Good arm talent, but he has a ton of time to throw.
This is Tammy's husband. You are giving Joe Brady props. He brought the offensive scheme that Joe Burrow has run since high school. Look up his high school highlights here on RUclips.

Joe Burrow is in a different class than these other two guys
If Jake declares for the draft he’d be a nice pick in a late round for the Lions to develop under Stafford.
I believe you now about Jake Fromm. I liked him more the last 2 seasons and he has regressed alot this season. I can't see 1st rounder now either
In Jacob Easons defense he is playing in Chris Peterson’s system which is arguably the most complex system in the NCAA
Zac Shomler What do you think of Nevada QB Malik Henry?
I got a burrow furniture ad lol
I think Eason comes out. I think he ends up in Miami late 2nd round. He will sit behind Fitzpatrick for a year.
What about the QB from Oregon?
Please talk about some of the talented but lesser talked about prospects if they choose to declare like Skylar Thompson from Kansas State and Kellen Mond from Texas A&M. Also, Bryce Perkins from Virginia.
I really dont think Bryce Perkins gets drafted Mond maybe a 6 or 7th rounder depending on teams that want to develop

I can't hear jake fromms name without waiting for someone to say statefarm after
If Frahm is not going to get better then he should go in the draft🧐
Fromm to the Titans would be pretty nice
Jake Fromm needs to be drafted by a great NFL team and sit behind an elite starting quarterback for a couple seasons and develop as a quarterback and work on his footwork and mechanics.
In your opinion, Can any of these guys overcome being drafted in to a bad QB development program?
Can you do a Jake Fromm film analysis?
Idk Fromm is dropping ball on a dime and he is very smart most of the time.
Burrow is the one to watch!
Eason when was at Georgia would just party every night basically think he just likes the spotlight of being the QB without putting in the work of improving and just thinks his arm talent will make up for this

Is there something wrong with mahomes that I'm missing lol?

Good points on Fromm. He is not getting that kind of time to throw in NFL. As well a long time
weakness of his is his internal clock knowing when to get rid of the ball.

I feel Jacob Eason could play in the league but I feel he needs to sit and learn. Same for Fromm if he goes to a program that will let him sit and learn he may get a shot.
