LazyTitan never fails to make me laugh with his... interesting perspective on the game. I wish the art on the card was a bit better because the theming is so on point with this. The Guardians being a rag-tag group of misfits, the only requirement to get a new member on the team is being a Guardian already. It's their crazy roundabout way of recruiting new allies, even those part of other players decks. (The slight flavor of giving them the trait would've been the cherry on top.) I love this card in solo, but especially in multiplayer where I can choose to help the table out. 7/10 from me, great episode!
I love the theming of it too! Such a fun card. LazyTitan is full of hot takes 😂 (Loved your Iceman take by the way, totally cooking and not charred at all.)
I made blue Thor for magnetos release day! It was really great. I made my own deck for it, but it was awesome! Also, I made blue Ghost Spider for the release day, and used a bunch of spider allies and the cards that discard them to really fuel her.
I agree with the criticisms, but I use "Welcome Aboard" in Star Lord's deck for two reasons (although I've never thought of using it for another player). One, it tries to mitigate Star Lord using his power EVERY round, and adding more stress to the table. Two, I build out my whole box for game night, so you grab a hero, grab a villain, and play. So that economy forces you to make different choices, because no deck has ALL the good cards. I've been able to mostly pull this off, as there are enough interesting builds to use most of the cards. That's why I like when you do deep dives on cards, and talk about better ways to use them. I really have to get all the mileage I can out of mediocre cards. I also added one into Adam's deck, who ironically, is the only Guardian I really struggle with. For our group, Venom, Gamora, Groot, and Nebula are all popular. Star Lord is definitely less popular because he stresses the table while building up to do 60 damage in one round ==> not as fun for everyone else.
I’ve heard a lot of people say they play that way-having a deck ready for every hero! That feels crazy to me but that’s probably because I’ve never tried. This card is super fun when you start using it for other people at the table!
@@WinningHandPodcast Well, it's more like necessity is the mother of invention. There's no way I can get my gaming group to build decks on the fly for a game they don't know very well... This is a group which hates Magic the Gathering. We play a lot of Boardgames. And they started playing Sentinels of the Multiverse way back, so they have all the expansions + versions of that. I join, but Marvel Champions fixes so much of what I don't like about Sentinels. I can get MC to the table maybe once every three months. It's a tough sell.
@@WinningHandPodcast Yeah, not with groups, where I prefer it. I do two-handed solo play to test the decks, and blog about stuff. Lots of plays at home.
When you were discussing if you ever play against the 5th villain of a campaign, like Boomguy, I play against Magneto. I actually test my decks currently against 7 villains until I get a victory in both standard and expert: Klaw; Rhino (with The Doomsday Chair encounter set, which includes M.O.D.O.K); and then the Mutant Genesis villains (Sabretooth, Project Wide Awake, Master Mold, Mansion Attack, and Magneto).
That’s quite a gauntlet for deck testing! I check out your channel and gave your channel a shoutout in my discord channel, so hopefully more people will find you!
This is a really good card IMO. It's a double resource for allies, which are often the most expensive cards. You can pass it out, which doesn't happen a ton, but generally once to twice a game I usually don't need it and someone else can use it. Due to cost curves, its usually going to be more efficient than Power of Leadership as far as cards it can hit. Power in All Of Us may be a better choice overall depending on ally and support selection. I also do think this keeps vaguely on theme. For the three main tribes with ally increase basic supports, Guardians is the only one that the ally bonus is not dependent on Tribal traits. It's actually one thing I really like about Guardians, I don't feel pigeon-holed into the tribe, though that is also because Guardians of the Galaxy is just the worst of the leadership team cards and hard to make work. The bad is, I don't think a ton of the Guardians actually want this card. Leadership is generally a bad fit for Gamora. Drax can do it now with the expanded card pool so he may be a very niche candidate. Star-Lord may like it but he has a lot of money already. Rocket has some niche leadership builds where he tinkers tech upgrades on allies, so maybe? I think it could be useful for Venom as well but I haven't used it with him ever. I almost always include 1 copy in Adam Warlock. I never run 3 copies, but like to have 2 for Nebula and Groot, at least if I'm not playing solo, where it is still a decent option. Merry Christmas and thanks for the great content!
I’m with you Matt-I love the thematic aspect of this card, and it makes for a lot of fun plays. Thanks for the great comment…I love your metier, thought-out comments!!
I'll be at TheBrandt's Agents of SHIELD event. As someone who was at the Age of Apocalypse one they did I can safely say it's an absolutely great time! My wish for Santa FFG is an Iron Fist hero.

@@WinningHandPodcastI like where you're going but if they go the Danny Rand route with the character(there have been a few Iron Fists like Ghost Rider) then they have to put him in a box with Luke or they're missing an opportunity. The box even names itself at that point "Heroes for Hire".
I don’t know why but I love to play allies with this card, even if it is essentially the same as a double there is just something fun about welcoming and ally to the table instead of using a generic resource. But overall I would probably give it a 6/10 because it helps play allies and allies are pretty decent most of the time.
The theme really does shine with this card! In reflection I might have rated it a bit higher (?) than I did. I love the idea of becoming a Guardian just by getting an invite to help out
Thank you so
much for the content creator spotlight! I think a Dr. Doom scenario would be awesome!
Thanks for watching, and for making great content yourself!!
I agree, a Dr. Doom scenario would be amazing. Let’s hope we get one!
Love this card. Paired this with Steve Rogers in 2handed for some super cheap allies.
Love that combo!
Love this card
