- Took About 1 minute and 26 seconds from the time I Slingshoted to the the time i reached the marker. And for All of y’all that say he only swung once, that’s not the purpose of this video. Of course I swing all the time in this game. I mean it’s amazing traversal who doesn’t? I got 400+ hours in the game so I mean I like to switch it up and fly sometimes bcuz it’s cool that you have the option, But you don’t have to comment about swinging, I promise yall I know Spider-Man swings lmao but have some fun yall, at the end of the day it’s a video game and Spider-Man isn’t real.

If that's 5542 metres and travelled all the way within 1 minute and 26 seconds, that is around 232km/h which is as fast as a train or a sports car. That's pretty fast

I was a big fan of Spider-Man games when I was young. Now they have lost their appeal to me thanks to the insomniac games making Peter just do completely physics defying stuff all the time. Definitely wish animations like point launches and wall running were sped up relative to how fast you were moving going into them.

How do you recharge the venom glide boost while in the air so quickly? I always do a bunch of air tricks but it still takes time to recharge.

I think we can safely assume that after this level of agility and 99% of traversal being literally flying at blistering speeds, the next logical game should be of spiderman 2099 Miguel Ohara as the main protagonist and the upgrades will add literal boosters like iron man suit, who am I kidding it's basically gonna be an unofficial ironman game with "spider" powers.

You basically tap triangle to take out the web wings, while at the same time tapping square to front flip. You tap them at the same time, learned that from a speed runner and thought it was cool. One extra thing is that it doesn’t really work as well with miles just fyi.

@@DanielBradler don’t get your hopes up unfortunately. It’s not what you think it is, you don’t have a base suit and then press a button and switch to a black suit. All of the suits are cosmetic in this game. It’s hard to explain but you’ll see, the more gameplay you watch.

Really didn’t map out a route though I was just going tbh. I did restart a couple times when I messed my momentum up bcuz one thing I did plan on was using the slingshot and Symbiote surge at the start and then just go from there because it was a good head start.

it would have been faster without the air tricks. we've done contless tests and doing tricks in the air is definitely slower than just gliding/falling
Nahh, I need them tricks to dash foward and up to maintain near max momentum. But technically you are right tho, the tricks do slow you down 100% I noticed that in the first game.
As someone who will never play this game and doesn't know enough about Klyntar in general, is there some explanation provided for how the Symbiote enables Peter to just straight-up... defy physics? I mean, he is literally propelling himself of off nothing for half the video. I expected some zipping and gliding shenanigans for sure, but my boy is actually just literally flying using two combined power sets, neither of which are, to my knowledge, capable of flight. Did I miss something?
The game gives the player the option to use quite a few mechanics to keep him in the air. It can be as “realistic” as you want it for a Spider Man game or you can use boost abilities, slipstreams and other stuff.
That said, he optimized his run here, I don’t know how he’s resetting the cooldown on the boost abilities.
Neat trick I learned from a speedrunner. Click square to front flip while at the same time tapping triangle to take out the wings. Look I know it’s cheesy but at this point we a year into the game I’m just having fun man.

I knew I was going to slingshot beforehand and use Symbiote surge, but after my Symbiote surge ended it was free rein from there, I got lucky with all those fans on the buildings lmao I was just going.
But thank you tho bcuz a some people definitely don’t feel how you do. They’re all complaining that I only swung once. Man it’s my 8th playthrough lol ima play how I please.

@@BoxOfCurryos Yea, it works the same as the combat surge mode. Your abilities recharge twice as fast while doing the air tricks, so you can dash forward and upward in half the time but you don’t have surge for that long. It’s basically good for a head start on momentum, but I don’t do it that much bcuz you move fast anyway without it.

But when playing the game, is flying around actually fun? When I played the first one, web swinging was like the best part of the game.
It’s like when they added the grappling hook and zipline in assassins creed syndicate. Like “great, now I don’t have to climb those pesky walls!”, but now you’ve created a tool/upgrade that removes the fun, cool part that made the game special

Insomniac really forgot the entire appeal of experiencing Spider-Man's signature method of travesal with this game. Plenty of characters can fly or glide. Plenty of characters can jump in midair. But no other character can swing quite like Spider-Man. However, rather than leaning into that unique aspect, improving the existing mechanics from the first game, they instead lazily slapped those two clichéd features on top and made them objectively faster than the way Spidey is supposed to move. Now, if people want to play optimally, they can't swing. And if they want to swing, they aren't playing optimally. What a disappointment. Seriously, way to utterly miss the point of playing as Spider-Man, Insomniac.

Lmaooo I love the first game man too man I beat it 7 times on ultimate, but yea I can objectively say the swinging in this game is 1000x better and it should be bcuz it’s a sequel. Man I’ll take the first games story over the second games story any day of the week and the gameplay in the second over the first easily.

@@JXFIndustries2000 I know but im just so tired of being letdown by no dlcs. The reason why i said that though is because theres games like black myth wukong or sparking zero that has a lot of playability. (Youll never get bored). But once you do spiderman 2s story like twice, its pretty boring.

@@Kuruums2 Nahh man don’t be sorry, I love to hear other opinions, and believe me man I am dying for dlc for this game bro like all of the side content in this games screams for a dlc. Man we just gotta keep hoping but yea it is a let down and I feel you when it comes to buying the deluxe. 2k and cod made me very weary about pre ordering games and spending to much.

I really hate the way insomniac ruin the Spiderman 2 mechanics. They got it just right in Miles Morales. But now, the Spidermen are gliding across the map like the guy from just-cause. They messed up the swinging mechanics really bad in Spiderman 2, it's way too fast and totally destroyed the immersive feel it had in the prequels.
I honestly respect this opinion, and honestly can’t even really disagree. The best thing about the traversal tho is that for people that like to swing more traditionally never have to use the wings if they don’t want, or the dash foward and up, but I see what you mean and that’s a great opinion.
@@JXFIndustries2000 not to go into a rant. Let's just say that when the original Spiderman came out in 2018 I was ecstatic, I played the game 100% and only used the fast travel three times! The traversal was just that good. The Miles Morales sequel improved on it and kept it fresh. Spiderman 2 just reminds of the time I played just-cause 3 or prototype 2. Swinging is now optional.
@@SilbermaneNahh man I feel you. Sm1 I will say does feel more true to Spider-Man in terms of the gameplay 100%. And miles morales was good too. The Symbiote saga definitely changed things and depending on who you are, for the better or worse.
