- To help HOWL OF A DOG rescue more homeless dogs & find forever homes please visit www.howlofadog.org Zuzi was a stray dog living in the parking area of a company. Her rescue was quite a difficult mission because she had some very traumatizing experiences with the dogcatchers who tried to catch her and their methods were rather brutal. Fortunately, they didn’t manage to catch her (had they succeeded she would have ended in the city’s pound), but the experience left her with a trauma and she panicked and ran away every time we got nearer and tried to catch her. Using a catch pole was out of the question because that would have traumatized her even more, so that’s why we decided to administer her a tranquilizer.
Zuzi is learning now to trust people again and she’s making progress. She’s friendly with other dogs and cats and loves to be cuddled. She’s also learning to walk on a lead, but she’s not very interested in walks or exploring new territories and prefers the safety of a garden/fenced in yard.
Estimated age 4 yrs, vaccinated, microchipped.
**UPDATE: We have some very happy news: Zuzi was adopted and will be living from now on in Canada. Her adoptive family came to Romania and they returned to Canada with one extra passenger: Zuzi :)
Zuzi’s adoptive family knew the situation dogs from Romania have to deal with everyday and the suffering they have to endure, so they decided to adopt a dog and save a life.

Someone once said that humans are the smartest on the animal kingdom, we were supposed to take care of this planet with all the creatures on it, I think we’re failing, but with people like this I think we still have a chance to turn around all the bad things we have done, I really hope we can turn this around.

I was a apart of the vets and I saved 10 dogs from wounds and fleas. I got to bring 2 home and there names Are Cooper,a beagle and a Golden retriever named Goldie. There are in fit and two loving dogs that are both 8 in a half.🐕🐾👍

I have 3 puppies, newborn labradors. The black one is named "Jessy", the black and white (boy) is Sammy, and the brown (girl) one is "Lisa".

I love these kind of things it makes me feel happy that there is someone that actually cares about what horrible people do to poor innocent dogs that do no harm and are scared half to death thinking that there gonna hurt them. Any human being who has never known the love of a dog isn’t a loving human being themselves. Zuzi reminds me a bit of my girl Tilly. She’s a Terrier too. They are such AWESOME dogs. Tilly’s 14, but she’s still going strong. ALL they really ask for is ❤️. They can survive and live long full lives IF you love them. That’s why so many dogs lose their lives. Humans fail them.

i am sitting here crying my eyes out petting my two rescues. i have rescued dozens of dogs over the past few years, these 2 have stayed for good, the rest i found homes for. good job guys.

I live somewhere, where street dogs are very common. There is this dog near my house that i think is pretty old. When i was little i used to be terrified of it. Now, i love it so much. I'm planning on adopting him from the streets, but i have the obstacle of traveling a lot so I am not sure how that might work out. It currently is living with this petshop. The petshop owner feeds the dog as well so it is currently fine.
i have 3 dogs, once you take care of them and they start trusting you they wont have problems for staying alone a couple.of days, just ask a friend to give them food from time to time and they will be fine. I love my 3 dogs ( they are huge btw) and every time i had to travel they stayed at home ( if it wasnt like a long travel) and when i returned home they wete super happy. :) once a dog trusts in you he knows you wont let him down. Just adopt that dog and give him the life he deserves

i found a stray dog once i saw some bastards kicking him they laughed like maniacs and i punched the shit out them after a long talk with my mom we decided to adopt the little pup he s now living in our house i never tought he trust us but now hes just like a normal dog to everyone and i never saw those maniacs again if i ever do im gonna kick them in the stomach

There was a stray dobermen me near where I lived when I was young, he was maybe 3 feet high and was very very aggressive it took me a whole year to Finally touch or pet him, I use to just go near him and wait intill he stops growling and drop a piece of chicken on the floor Intill one day he ate it from my hand and licked me, and he's been living in my family ever since :)

Wubby penguin I found my dog in the street as I was driving to work; this little black being just jumped in front of my car as I was nearly at the summit of a small hill. He was so tiny I thought I'd hit a kitty and was devastated as I got out of the car, already crying. I saw the "cat" dog running down the hill, chasing something (flying paper in the air) and It took about 40 minutes to get him to come to me, then an additional 10 min. to let me pick him up. To this day, 11.5 years later, we still have a process for "pickyouup" (picking him up) and only I can do it. People -complete strangers -love this dog and ask if they can pick him, sometimes they just start to without asking ! Both get a resounding "NO!" from me. Once, a friend picked him up thinking she was helping me (I was distracted emptying the car) Snoop panicked , jumped out of her arms into the street and was hit by an oncoming car. Only 6 months into our lives together I though "My God, I killed him instead of saved him". Thank God he was ok. My Boy Snoop is the greatest dog on earth, I love him so much. Rescues *know* that you've saved them ,they are grateful & devoted for life. But the reality is that *I'm* the rescued one, Snoop saved my life.
We need more people like you! Also my dog is a pug, and when her owner died we decided to adopt her. we didnt want her to feel isolated.
