My son found a dog along a country road. No one would claim her. Took her to the vet, got her shots & spayed then gave her to us for Christmas. Timid at first but warmed up to us and has been the smartest & best family dog for 11 years!

I can’t imagine how anyone that ever loved a dog abandons that dog. The dog goes from being in a home (may not be given love or affection) to the dangerous, scary, and unknown life in the streets. Owners (clearly not family members) just drop it off like trash. Owners did not have the decency to take the dog to a shelter where it will be fed, have a safe place to sleep, and potential chance of adoption. Despicable people!

Sometimes animals run away and get lost. I believe that's how we got our little boy. The least little noise and he tries to run, he's terrified. I believe they tried to find him and couldn't. He was very young, and we learned this about him quickly, fortunately. He went from Texas, to New Mexico, and has been with us in Illinois for at least 8 years.
