Hey I’m Josh from Adelaide, South Australia. I'm a proud father of 3 and passionate about heavy music.
I was the bass player for post-hardcore/alternative rock group Capulet from 2004-2012, releasing an album, EP and several demos.
Capulet were signed to Red Bull and the Taperjean Music Group alongside Closure in Moscow and The Mission in Motion.
Highlights of my music career were playing with amazing bands like Anberlin, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Haste the Day, Awaken I Am, and touring Australia several times.
I wasn’t the most technical bass player, but lived for performing on stage. I have always loved the process of song writing and the visual art that accompanies music.

Great reaction. But I think you should've turned on the subtitles. Then it hits even more.....
For songs like these subtitles are a must. This song is so true and touching.
Please either use translated videos from educatedmarine or at least turn on subtitles with autotranslation. You are missing out.
E.g. Dicke Titten makes no sense without the text :)
Rammstein did some of the best videos ever made in the world of music videos. There is so much thought, art and stunning visuals.
All the sand you see in this video, is real. The big statue in the end sequence, like the head moldings are made of real sand, too.
I am so waiting for the making of video to this. I can imagine that some of this takes may only take seconds, but are soooo beautiful to see in timelapse.
I first discovered Rammstein by finding a disc outside when I was like 9 years old, guess someone didn't like it as it was lying on the ground, I picked it up, popped it into a Stereo Radio and then I heard Weisses Fleisch, Asche zu Asche, Laichzeit, Heirate Mich, I just immediately fell in love, because as a kid the whole keyboard mixed with heavy guitar and all, I've never heard of something like that, and I'm still impressed that all the OG Members are still together the whole time :O I am now 32 years old :) and looking forward to more Rammstein, I hear they're still having fun with the Band and are not stopping after this Album.
Reactions to Rammstein only make sense if you know what is sung!

This song and video just wrecks me, its so emotional. As soon as Till starts singing, from the first word im gone.
Why does nobody mention (I can´t be the only one catching this) the moment in the video when Till is singing: "ein jeder kennt den perfekten Moment / everybody knows the perfect moment" and right then the video shows the baby beeing delivered.
Isn´t this the perfect moment in life for almost every parent?
BTW: it is neither th reaper nor the sandman but the 3 mythological Norns Urd, Verdandi and Skuld (past, presents and future) responsible for shaping the course of human destinies.

a small correction, the song is called: "Ich tu dir weh" = "I hurt you. Another great song and video is "Adieu".
Time is death. They are the same. No matter if it goes backward (1st part of the video) or forward (second part of the video) - time always leads to death and always to life and again to death, to life, to death ..... Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.....

When this song was first released I wasn't sure, but after a few listens it quickly became one of my favourites. So much so, in my Spotify unwrapped at the end of 2022 I had played it 70 times since it's release lol. Rammstein are my favourite band, I was in the top 1% of listeners with 2594 minutes lol. Have you watched Deutschland yet? That was one hell of a come back after 10yrs of nothing new. I was watching Justin Hawkins react to some of their newer videos and he said that as soon as Rammstein release a video, it gets shared around the music industry and everyone says "why do we even bother making videos" lol.

The three creepy figures are called time keepers by Rammstein. Doubtless an referring to the Norns. According to the "Völuspa", Norns (Nornir) are three immortal female figures in pre-Christian, old Germanic/Nordic mythology who sit on the banks of the Urd River at the root of the world ash Yagdrasil and spin the threads of fate for gods and humans. (The three sinister figures in the Rammstein video undoubtedly provide an analogy) The names of the three Norns are:
"Urd" (fate / that which has become) She is an old woman who constantly looks back over her shoulder at the time long past.
"Verdandi" (Present / The Being) She has the form of a young woman who is always looking ahead.
"Skuld" (Future/The Becoming) Unlike Urd and Verdandi, Skuld is an unpredictable force that has no love for gods or humans. She wears a veil and holds a book or scroll in each hand. Her gaze is always directed in the opposite direction of Urd's gaze.
The Nornir spin the thread of Fate and life for every human being, and when that thread is severed, the human's life ends. Remnants of this mythology can still be found today in the Germanic/Nordic language area. There is a commonly used saying for a person who is in danger of death. "His life hangs by a thin thread only".

You have missed much. Especially after their strong comeback with Deutschland a few years back. If you look the many videos Adieu will even show you more details. There is so much in it from videos like Ich Will, Rammstein (Lost Highway from David Lynch), Deutschland, Mutter, etc.
With their recent albums they have some kind of rythm with their videos: the serious slower rythm, the strong high energy number and a more commical catchy rythm or vibe.
I would recommend you to listen “Ich will”, “Sonne”, “Du riechst so gut” (98 version, more epic), radio, rosenrot, Mein Teil, ohne dich

As a woman, it's quite funny watching guys react to the reverse birth scene. You can mostly tell who already has kids and who hasn't. Some guys turn into 12 year olds, I swear 😂
Regardless of how you think I went I think there is a difference between the body knowing what to do in an active birth and a woman on her back (the worst birthing position) with a man painfully and unnaturally pushing a child inside, I would forgive anyone that is uncomfortable with the concept
@@Roguenjosh I'm a bit late to see this but just wanted to point out that the men are not 'pushing' the babies inside the women. The women are giving birth and the men are taking the babies. Its just that its in reverse.
My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.
Big misstake to not use subtitles. All Rammstein fans enjoy follow the lyrichs as they allways have deep and/or doubble messages.

Another thing that came to my mind is the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense? This is art at its finest 🥰

I love Till's voice in both songs.
Their new tracks from their latest album Zeit (time) are pregnant with meaning, pathetic, sustained. Or simply boring. Videos overloaded with symbols, lyrics like poems from the 19th century. But without the Rammstein sound. They lost their power in the last 10 years, unfortunately. The only highlight is "Deutschland", released in 2019. Definitely the video of the century. But the sound - well, exchangeable. Enjoy their earlier songs.
