I think you should take all vulnerable talents. You don't need enemies slowed, Hurricane and Storm Strike already do that, but having more Vulnerability uptime means more lightning strikes from your passives.

I like your build and I've theorycrafted the full version of it as well. Obviously the beta is over so you can't change the build, but once the game goes live I strongly suggest you go with a one-hander and a totem instead of a two-hander. While the two-hander will usually give you more damage, the one-hander + totem is significantly faster. Since this build relies on procs you really want to get your attack speed as high as possible so that you can hit more often and therefore have more chances to proc your passive effects. They'll do more damage when they do activate with a two-hander, but at least early on you won't be able to have tons of +X% Lucky Hit Chance to ensure your passives activate and a few extra hits could be the difference between getting an activation and not getting one. With a 0.90 attacks per second two-hander you only get 7 chances to proc with Hurricane, assuming you have an enemy in the damage radius for all 8 seconds, whereas for a 1.2 attacks per second one-hander + totem (achievable with +10% attack speed, whereas two-hander can only get to 0.99) you'll hit 9 times. Later on this shouldn't matter much but early on when you're reliant on luck the extra couple of procs can be very meaningful.
The other thing you might try is Lightning Storm rather than Tornado. Lightning Storm has a worse innate Lucky Hit chance (15% per hit vs Tornado's 33%) but it hits a lot more times and is a lot less dependent on getting good RNG on the Tornadoes going where you want them to. Tornado is probably the better skill later on when you can find the legendary aspect that makes it seek enemies, but until you get that you might want Lightning Storm. Alternatively you could go for Landslide, since while it won't proc your Storm passives you can get it to crit a lot for free by taking the node that gives you Terramote charges whenever you Immobilize enemies. Storm Strike and Vine Creeper will both generate those charges so you can keep Landslide on your bar as a "this absolutely must die" option.

Yeah this was I think the last day of the beta and I just didn’t have any 1H / Totem combos anywhere near the DPS of the staff. Also the higher damage on tornado up front made it more resource efficient so it just felt like I was clearing faster.

@@The_D_Cast Fair enough. It was obviously impossible to guarantee during the beta since the aspects were in non-Fractured Peak Dungeons, but it seems like a lot of the aspects we're going to want for this build are in the Dry Steppes (a few are in Scosglen as well). IMO the best idea will be to immediately leave the Fractured Peaks after finishing the prologue unless there does end up being a level differential for Scosglen and the Dry Steppes, though in the beta there wasn't one.
Some of the aspects we might want are the Aspect of the Umbral (Restore 1-4 resource when you CC an enemy, found in Champion's Demise - Dry Steppes), Aspect of Might (Basic Skills grant 25% damage reduction for 4-8 seconds, found in Dark Ravine - Dry Steppes), and the Rapid Aspect (Basic Skills get +23-33% attack speed, found somewhere in the Dry Steppes). There's also the Overcharged Aspect (Lucky Hit: up to 10-20% chance when dealing lightning damage to overload the target, causing any direct damage you deal to pulse 350 additional damage to surrounding enemies) but this says it's in the Mariner's Refuge in Scosglen, which is probably a dungeon unlocked by beating the Stronghold with the giant lighthouse that they showed off a few weeks before beta, and in the open beta it looked like that area had a minimum level of 25, so we might have to come back for it. The Accelerating Aspect (critical strikes with Core skills increase your attack speed by 20-40% for 3 seconds) sounds very good as well. Overall I see this build attacking a lot with Storm Strike over dumping spirit since most of the damage (at least once we get our procs) will come from Lucky Hits, and so all we need to do is hit fast and keep enemies Vulnerable/Immobilized, which Storm Strike can do both of.

Has anyone tried to look at the Paragon tab (next to "Skill Tree" on top of the abilities screen)
I did not even think to click on it ... prolly not even clickable for Beta ?

Whose saying druid is weak? I played a lightning druid myself and found him insanely powerful. I was crushing through crud like it was nothing. I also have all legendary gear. Best way to get legendary gear is the merchant with the gems or whatever you can give her by completing events. Every like 5 chances you do or so you generally get a legendary item of whatever gear you choose. For me the druid was the second best class I played. First was the lightning sorcerer I think.
But yea I have this one legendary item that upgraded my wolves to werewolves that attack way quicker and stronger and also spread rabies to the enemies and that alone is like killing crud like crazy.
Also there’s a passive skill you can get for lightning where it strikes at random at enemies every so many seconds with the least time being every 10 seconds I believe when fully upgraded. It’s like really good, it can kill enemies before you even do anything and it’s automatic.
I loved the druid, always have.
