I've set my internet connection to limited, and turned all updates off, because I barely use my pc when I need it, and updates usually screw something and I can't work on it.
AAAAAAAAAND it still manages to update sometimes, like this time when it fucked up my desktop icons.
The solution presented in this video didn't work for me, as the reg settings were correct, but when I've rebooted, stupid windows was updating.
One time it entered a reboot loop after an update, so I had to boot into safemode to uninstall the idiotic updates.
Best solution is to get a mac or install a distribution of Linux that looks like windows for those that don't like the changes.

I'm still suffering from this issue, even after following your video faithfully.
Both IconSPacing & IconVerticalSpacing were -1125 before messing with them, and they still are. I even tried multiple other variables. But no luck, sadly.
I'm on Windows 11. If that matters.

Right click a blank area of your desktop and choose View and then make sure auto arrange icons is unchecked.
