    This is incorrect. Auto Arrange does not change the order of the icons. I have always had it enabled in Windows 7 and my icons never changed order. Auto Arrange only ensures that icons remain together in a continuous, unbroken "chain". Windows 10 has an obvious bug that causes icons to be rearranged after rebooting or signing out. No one has come up with a real fix for this yet.

    Thanks! Deleting the icon cache didn't work for me. But unchecking that "allow themes to change icons" box in personalization->themes worked.

    Hello Ray.
    awesome tut.
    Do you know maybe a solution when turning on secondary (extended) monitor and all icons from primary transfer to secondary.
    No valid solution so far

      Try this and let me know if this helps.
      Right-click on an empty space on the Desktop, click on View.
      Uncheck the option Auto Arrange Icons.
      Check the option for Align the icons to grid.
