  • Hi folks, got my hands on the new Umx Timber Evolution, and I heard it's supposed to be a really great bird. I needed something smaller to just put up and fly without the hassle of a bigger plane, so I copped this lil joker. The maiden...welll, you'll see in the video lol
Please help me grow the channel!! Thanks!

My friend we have all had days like those. Nice looking airplane and I do like the lights. I think once you get it trimmed out you'll be okay. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed watching.

Real life maiden video. I appreciate that.
I'd say about a third of my maidens will have issues that need to be worked out before getting decent flights.

I dont know if all UMX planes come like this but the ones Ive had so far have the motor pointed slightly down and to the right and the rudders slightly right as well, but fly nice and straight. Have fun👍

Got one of these coming & if I know myself, I'll be removing those wheels. Prolly add a few 2mm carbon rods, too.
I know you won't stop till that flyers well dialed in. Also, most UMX RCs have safe set to work on the gear switch.

I just bought one as my first ever RC plane. Your maiden flight looked a lot like my maiden flight...I touched the throttle and up it went! I had some trouble getting it down, too. I agree that its a trimming issue, but now its too windy to fly. Thanks for posting...it was very informative.

I’ve got one of these and it flys great. Two things - CG is way off with that 3S so far back and did you reset the rudder trim after the mechanical adjustment? With such a small, light plane the control surfaces all have to be aligned perfectly. Check all of them carefully. You’re a good pilot to handle that situation - several situations!

When I got mine the mechanical trim was way out. Like 16 turns on the turnbuckle out

Agreed mine was a little over 11 in this video.

I didn't saw mine coming down today on maiden flight. That's not a good sign.

Mind flew better as a glider as well. A glitched out above the ground and cost me 150 bucks not happy with this little airplane at all. Did you forget to program your safe switch ?

I’m on my second one and these things are way out as far as trim goes.

Did you auto bind your nx8 or did you program the plane in first, then bind? I auto binded my eflite f14 and despite what people told me it just wanted to climb 😂i had to fly it near stall to get it to almost flat spin in order to get her back to earth.

No I set everything up by the manual, it was just the elevator mechanical adjustment was so far outta wack

Well I have learned from this video to BE CAREFUL around trees. Otherwise I would get stuck in one.
But even if I do get stuck in a tree, how would I get the aircraft down??
Would it be a good idea if I use a helicopter to hoist the plane out?
Also can you even install a winch on a nx compatable helicopter????

    • @thercaviator177
      @thercaviator177  Год назад +1

It probably wouldn't be a good idea to try to hook and hoist it with some because these planes are extremely fragile. Just try ya best not to get it stuck! Lol

      So much for recovery rescues.
And I thought that would be a good idea.
Since I now know they're breakable then I will have to stick with towing them for battery charging on the ground then.
That is what having a tractor is for.

I use an extendable pole purchased from Amazon. Reaches up to 36ft. That things come in handy more times than I can count.
I use it to shake the branch that's holding my plane, and it's worked out pretty well so far.
