Hey Sean, I primarily fly Mode-1 but I also fly Mode-2 when test flying others' models or when instructing. So yes, I go both ways! LOL The primary difference with Mode-1 is that you are separating out the 2 main control surfaces to 2 different control sticks. With throttle on the right coupled with ailerons, a roll can be extremely precise since you avoid nudging any elevator movement during the maneuver. It's strictly an aileron roll. In Mode-2, there's a chance you'd feed in a little up or down elevator during the roll which will affect how smooth it was. You are using both hands to perform the maneuver instead of tying to input a diagonal motion with the right stick (if that made sense). Bottom line, your flying becomes very smooth with all the big aerobatic skills once you master Mode-1. It's made me a much better flyer.
Many fun flights on this plane. Most if not all of the first shipments arrived with the rudder requiring adjustment. You'll enjoy this one in the local parking lot!

Shawn, first your vids on forward programming is fantastic!! But a quick question on putting a ar631 in my glow 46 plane …… most of what I can find seem to lean towards it fine to do. Is there any special way I should mount the rx with regard to vibration etc ?? Thanks again look forward to your response
Not sure if you figured it out yet but I'm at the 14-minute mark. The bind button operates the flaps. And they stay in the downward position. I'm waiting on my programming cable to hopefully fix this and switch the operation to another switch
I'm curious why you have a mode 1 radio? When mode 2 is the standard in the USA, also the 4 modes are mode 1 basic 4 channel plane like the AeroScout mode 2 is for a plane with Flaps, mode 3 and 4 are for wings and then you also have a helicopter mode, the real issue with the mode 1 radio is the throttle stick has the spring on the wrong side, you will need to change that also.
I bought the same radio and converted to mode 2…looking forward to the stick conversion video…the only issue I found is that the sticks do not go back to center when switching….hope you can address that.
Sean, could you please show how to bind the DXS transmitter so that SAFE is functional please? I was able to bind my Aeroscout DXS transmitter to my brand new Slow Ultra Stick easily and all the control surfaces work perfectly but I don’t have SAFE, and I definitely need safe. I bought the Aeroscout new in December and the SUS is brand new this week. I wasn’t able to check firmware version because I don’t have an update cable. Ordered and it’s on its way now though. Both planes have the same receiver AR630. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a dxs transmitter from an aeroscout and tried to bind it to UMX tractor. It bound but cant fly, flaps are down like the one in your video and I cant even taxi it around. Im new to the hobby and cant find any help

From what I can tell you need to on plane profile 2 for the flip function to work. Hold the left trim up and the right trim down while turning on the transmitter. Use the left trim to change the Main led from orange (Heli) to Blue (plane). On mine it was opposite. The left was throttle, and flaps combined, and rudder. The right was aileron and elevator.

I got one of those UMX's and my elevator was real warped..... and had the bubbles under the wing.
The new UMX has a 3s battery, flys great
