Thanks for the link to the batteries, I've got one with some "spicy pillows" as well. On a side note about opening the outer case: another user, FIXED1T, showed a method using a hammer instead of sawing it open. I used that method to open mine, it cracked along the seam between the two hemispheres and opened up well. The crack is a bit jagged but everything nestles in nicely when putting the sides back together. I will be taping mine closed rather than gluing but that's just a personal choice. FIXED1t demonstrated his method on a SPRK+ and a BOLT, but it worked on my Sphero2.

I considered the hammer method, but I decided to go with the saw instead, it was quieter. I hope yours works out.

@@JoshsShop is true, sawing is quieter, faster and less likely to damage the whole sphere. Figured I had nothing to lose and if I broke the sphere I could hackjob some different wheels on it and make it a car. It worked out, though

Quick tip: If you heat up the shielding for the wire with a lighter it's a lot easier to strip with your finger nails.

There is probably one available somewhere, or one that could be retrofit, but other than scavenging one from another sphero I don't know, sorry.

Drat ! The batteries are listed as current unavailable! Anyone else find perhaps a different link ? Thx for the video. * always cut one wire at a time..

Dang, I will look when I get a chance, and thanks for the tip (I'm definitely more of a woodworker than an electrician, but I thought this might be helpful to folks). Let me know if you find an acceptable set, I will change the link.

NEVER cut both wires at the same on a battery, surprised you somehow didn't short them.
