Which strings should I use from now on? Perpetual or Pirazzi Gold? Leave a comment! I'd love to read your opinion.

I like the Perpetual for the tone . The EP gold are nice but the first certainly worth trying out. The tone was great. They would certainly be worth purchasing .The music you played ...can you please name it . It sounded wonderful.

Pirazzi Golds definitely have the fuller, richer and cleaner sound, on your violin, to my ear. But it looks to me like you really could use a bow re-hair. Fresh new bow hair makes strings sound and respond differently, and a high-quality professional bow re-hair will make any string and violin combo sound instantly better. I had thought about upgrading to a more expensive bow about a year ago, and I was seriously thinking about getting a Müsing or a Coda Diamond GX, but then I decided to just get my Fiddlerman basic carbon fiber bow as well as the pretty carbon fiber bow which I bought from you a few years ago re-haired. I sent them to Sarah Bystrom in Nashville and she did such a fabulous job on the re-hair on both bows, which improved my tone and sound and response so much that I decided I didn't need a bow upgrade after all. I never knew how big of a difference a bow hair job could make! I think it would be interesting and educational to hear a comparison of both string sets after they are about a month old, with a fresh hair job on your bow please.

My personal preference here would be for the Pirazzi Gold. Thanks for reviewing these! Maybe in the future a review of the Larsen Gold..........? :)

I liked the cadenza strings. They made me sit up and pay attention. Cadenza strings created a very sweet into. The rest of the song was exciting. Eva string were nice but sounded like every other violin

I also heard that the Eva Pirazzi Gold were very good just after breaking in, but that they wore off very quickly. Did you have the same experience experience after having used them for some time? I prefer their warm mellow sound over the Pirastro Perpetual Cadenza strings.

It's true that the Golds have their best sound in the first few week. After that they function well too, but not as beautiful as the beginning. After that you can use them for a long while though. As a soloist I would replace them every two weeks, but for me as a teacher who makes recordings, they can last me months.

Yes, we are commenting on the strings on your violin and with your bow 😊.
The Evah Golds sound more broad. Cadenza is more focused.
Perhaps the Cadenza will get warmer after they are played in, and will end up being just right. Rather than like the Golds, loosing their tone.
    Looking forward to the update.

Exactly! I'm curious to find out. Until now the Cadenza's tone stays the same.

I disqualified EP Gold just based on tension alone. Never even tried them back in the day! (No offense, they do sound good, but for what they do I would rather play EP regular-weich.) Perpetual Cadenza have very, very comfortable low tension. They are the only synthetics that remind me of the feel of many gut strings-often strings like Obligato are touted as "gut replacements" but they are more tense, less rich AND less clear. It just does not truly sound like gut-warmth alone is not a "gut tone".
EP strings have a certain hollowness to the sound which passes as warmth. I always liked the original. Bright but with a certain depth. The Gold were supposed to be warmer, and they appear to sound warm and clear. Powerful too. But...
They both definitely lack frequency response content that is most often found on gut strings. This is where the Cadenza shines, IMHO.
The Perpetual Cadenza do not 100% sound like gut, but have that bright edge on top that people often think gut does not have! Gut is not dark and muddy-Obligato is, over time. It does have a nice tone, but definitely not like gut to my ears. The Cadenza variant of the Perpetual surprised me as the only synthetic which satisfies
my need for a low tension string with rich, "gut like" high position playing and response. Still faster than gut, but definitely not the response of an EP string.
So it is a very special set, and should not ever be discontinued, unless very much improved upon. Even its E is very good and matches the whole set perfectly (seems like a variant on the Gold Label E, between weich and mittel.) I have never ever used the original Perpetual for the same reasons I never used EP Gold-the tension. Cadenza fixes all of that, so I took the happy chance to try them.
They are similar to gut with an extra edge on top, but of course not entirely identical to either Oliv or Eudoxa (which are both different, but definitely clearer and more rich than the Obligato.) The low tension and "pseudo-guttiness" sold them to me. I would recommend these to most violinists, but especially to those who love gut core tone and playability.
(Right now trying regular Oliv G&D with Perpetual Cadenza and they work flawlessly, at least for the first three days I have combined them in this manner. Using Oliv E mittel.)
Of course use whatever works for you and your violins! Be well.

Interesting Zlata. As an altviool player I use Eva Pirazzi Gold. But from what it is possible to hear on a RUclips video it was not possible to really make any reasonable judgment! However, the Cadenza are probably not available for altviool anyway. Until I can extract my violins from the UK! Then perhaps I shall try for myself.

Hi Zlata , have you tried the Larsen Cannones? They seem to have that bright yet rich sound one tends to look for in Gold Evahs. I personally preferred your sound on Evah Golds than the Perpetuals, but it is a great idea to make a comparison maybe after 1 month, since both are premium strings durability might be a ver strong factor for professionals and more advanced students.

This is an interesting video, because Cadenzas are lower tension than Obligato, Evah Pirazzi Gold are higher tension. Golds sounded great on my violin, but the tension was just too much.
