Just got this phone, very happy with it. I'm actually pleased it came with a low power charger as I want it to charge the phone slowly overnight and I also limit the final charge to just 80% (Sony battery care setting), both these should help to ensure the long term battery life stays great. I'm still unsure if the 21:9 is a good aspect ratio as watching videos would be better on a 20:9 or lower aspect ratio, however for the money I'm very pleased with my choice.
Great to hear it. As for the battery , my understanding is that the software these days manages overall battery life as well...so days charging should affect it quite as much..of course this is even better when they have a split battery ..each charging at half rate . Good to know you like it as well !
@@Andronika Well, yes and no. With youtube for instance, you can watch with black bars down each side, showing the entire original 16:9 video however that means the content is smaller than you'd expect for a 6 inch (84cm) screen, the video size is only 4.75 inches (12cm). Or you can zoom to use the entire available screen space but that crops the top and bottom of the video. Obviously all phones are gonna suffer a bit of this but the stretched ratio of this phone makes it worse and crops more from videos if you wish to watch full screen. Don't get me wrong, I still really like the phone, it's just a minor grievance.

I just subscibed. What a great review! Now have a Sony Xperia 10 III for over a month, and it's just a very well thought out phone. As for bloatware, I only had Facebook and LinkedIn pre-installed, and that's one of the things I like about a Sony phone; Almost stock Android with some small (great) Sony tweaks, and not full of bloatware and ads. The slim size makes it easy to use it with one hand, in combination with Sony's one hand software function. The battery is just amazing! With a full charge I can use the phone between 3 - 6 days, depending usage of course. And for the 7,5W charger; Sony did this for a reason. Slow charging keeps your battery's full capacity for longer. So your battery will not deteriorate as fast. Just like you mentioned, it's fast enough for your daily tasks. As I don't play games on the phone, I can't say anything about that. Keep it up!
I've ordered mine and am waiting for it to arrive, stumbled across your video on my recommended. Very in depth and informative thank you! The camera's not a huge deal breaker for myself, i've found overtime i've started to take less and less photos, but audio quality and display are big factors for me, I like listening to lossless audio as well as having a nice display for watching video so this phone compromises in all the right areas for my use case. It's a shame Sony doesn't have a good reputation in the smartphone game because I honestly think they do a lot of things better than anyone else, their naming conventions certainly don't help haha.
Sony Xperia has a niche market comprising loyal fans from Sony Ericsson days. I love the distinctly Sony look and feel -- the iconic design, excellent build quality and solid feel in your hand. I have always bought Xperia flagships , which are unquestionably top-notch, but I trust this latest mid-ranger with its upgraded battery (I can forego some features that I don't really need) to know it's going to be a keeper.
I just ordered one today for 230 euros, with the bundled headphones included, at a summer sale from Orange carrier, in eastern Europe. Even more so I will be paying it in 12 monthly installments.
