I did some maths by comparing an EV and a petrol car of similar price (~ 10 lakh )
Electric Cars - Tata Tigor EV vs Kia Seltos ( petrol)
• Cost/Km - 20 p vs ₹ 5
• Service charges ( ~ 4 yrs ) ₹ 40,000 to ₹ 50,000 Vs ₹ 2,00,000 + (approx)
• Cost of driving 1,25,000 km - ₹ 15,000 vs ₹ 5,88,235
So total cost of owning an EV for 4 yrs or 1,25,000 km = ₹65,000
Same for a petrol car - ₹ 7,000,00
Electric Cars mercilessly beats fuel loving colleagues !!

How will you dispose crores of batteries after use ? Lithium extremely toxic for land,water , atmosphere . In India ,where there is still major electricity issues ,where will u load crores of car charging ?need to clean the grid first and that is still tonnes of work before we go electric .
@@ankitsoni-oc8xw Changes don't occur within nights , I do agree that lithium is very dangerous. Companies are already dumping it safely , with the advancement in battery technology more efficient way will come !!
@@liveinfra6820 I can understand the technology will develop years and absolutely agree the driving cost & GHG emissions can be reduced to a huge extent but 30 years down the line I see that technology flourish in India that too considering lots of positive & honest steps in the direction .
@@ankitsoni-oc8xw Fuel burned in power plants is more efficient and there is single exhaust which can be cleaned, it is very hard to clean many car exhaust and almost all IC engines are only 30% efficient some a little bit more but this is the limit till now. Hence it is beneficial to move to electric. Lithium batteries once not capable of driving a car can still be used as power storage unit in homes for solar. So there is a very long life time before that happens and even then it will be recycled. as it save purifying and mining costs.

For commercial productions charging station and time period of battery backup. So we can use mixed version. Fuel and battery together with change over system. Personal vehicle needs different requirement. Commercial /public trams, trains, bus, trucks can be fully electric.
