Sadly, religious schools have hugely negative elements to their ethos & wider curriculum, with multiple reasons "justified" for denouncing non-catholic-conforming individuals. The fear of hell that can be pushed is such that learners can fear staff members forming a negative opinion of them, in case that reinforced that they were a bad person, destined for hell and unworthy of care. Silent learners may not speak up for themselves throughout their lives - being trained into silence may not serve them well in life. I prefer learners who are willing to engage in conversation.
